Loved this* What a beautiful & special place you live in. My highlights , the wee nuggets of local knowledge , Pew Torr & the woodland. Vixen Torr looked amazing too. Living in Scotland , it made me feel sad you were not "allowed" to pass through :-(
This ownership of land thing never sits well with me (that is where the land isn't resided upon?) but I won't get on my soap box. I do however wonder how deep the ownership goes? is it like through to the earth core? I still think these Geo cashes fly in the face of LNT principals... I must be having a grumpy day ha ha. Great VLog anyway and thanks for sharing. Ewwww that smell you came across? I encountered similar the other day on the Pennines but fortunately didn't discover 'from whence it came'. Spotted a cracking little wild camp area immediately after you mentioned 'Hucken Tor', no good of course because it was right next to the path, but what an idyllic little location.
Yea, its a shame that its private access only - but the ycannae stop us looking at it... yet! And those geocach boxes were an eyesore. Cheers for watching,
Definitely a walk of experiences this one Trev. I looked vixen tor up on Wikipedia and wow it’s had a lot of people involved in reviewing access to it. That did look a lot of geocaches for one tor.
Not bad for an afternoon stroll. Good to see something different too. And I thought it was a shame that all those geocashes were so common and visible. Ridiculous really. Cheers for watching,Paul.
Nice video, Trev, and a beautiful area with some of my favourite tors. 13:40 that is part of the lower half of Hucken Tor, my second favourite tor and by far one of the most extensive woodland tors; it continues up the hill onto the moorland below Little King's Tor and King's Tor and its position is a little 'off' on the OS Map. Beside the track that you walked are four rock basins that are worth seeing if you ever go back. ATB Max.
Loved this one Trev, watched it on the way home from getting absolutely piss wet through after travelling up to Flamborough Head for a stroll along the coast and a chippy!
What a lovely...and interesting...little walk. Pity about Vixen Tor being privately owned but there again at least it's not plagued with little plastic lunch boxes!. Cheers. Ken
Reeally enjoyable video Trev, cheers. Lots of interesting things going on there, although really odd indeed to have those lunchboxes left like that. Has it become trendy somehow to do that in that location?
I have no idea - it did seem very excessive - all that plastic in clear view is clearly littering. Pop back up with a bin bag one day lol. Cheers for watching!
Pew Tor is fine for camping, in fact I'm planning to be on it next weekend (Saturday) on the final stretch of a 2 day hike. You're more than welcome to join, but bring beer cause you owe me. I was planning to film Sampford Spiney church, lol. Hucken Tor....aren't they all after you've done a few?
Elliot and I had to bail on Brecon as the wind was exceptionally Jinxed. As we didn’t get a camp Elliot plans to join us this weekend. May have to be Early Saturday as lightning due on Friday. Well watch the forecast and see what happens 😁
That vid was bloody great Trev, despite there being a few too many of those boxes. I agree--it's overkill! I wondered if you could tell us which of your pairs of boots you wore for your great, 30 mile Dartmoor in a Day hike? Light ones I presume. Thanks in advance. Getting close to 10 thousand Trev--well deserved!
I wore my solomon's for the Dartmoor in a Day walk, nice and light and good for waterproof too. There's a link in the Dartmoor ina Day video description if you wanted to read up about them. Thanks for watching!
Hi Trev, I love Merivale too. Camped at Pew Tor a.few weeks back, defo in the allowed area. My video covered many of the areas you covered. I called the woodland They Hidden Valeey’ Planned to be back out around here this weekend. ATB Ant 👍🏻😉
Nice one Trevor have checking the geocaching Web site there should be only one cache at pew tor (Dartmoor Dave own it) Presumably people leave rubbish.
I think people are just eaving their own by the looks of it. Ridiculous! Hope they lef their name and address in it, perhaps we could send them littering fines lol
I am coming down to do this walk next week . Saw it on your viewranger page. Looking forward to it. Also combining it with a wild camp now we are allowed from monday. Any thoughts on the best wild camping spot on this walk with a view ?
Hi Trev Alway watch you , thanks for all you do . Would you consider making a list of the tors in what3words , this would be a great help when on the Moor All the best Kev
Great video Trev. I have never enjoyed not visiting places so much :) It was good to see it is not heaving as much as it was a few weeks ago when I was there. I am traveling back down in 2 weeks for some more wild camping experience so this vid has been really helpful. Thanks as always for the inspiration. BTW it has been really bugging me since I started watching your channel who you remind me of. It just hit me. BEZ from happy mondays ! You got the eyes and the walk ;) Will you be putting this walk on viewranger ?
Bez indeed lol. Glad that you enjoyed the video! I will add this one to Viewranger, I need to go through Viewranger, theres a few to go live still. Thanks for watching!
I dont know what they are Trev but geocaches can't be placed within 100m of another one, so they're not proper caches I'd guess. Awesome new walk, planning another trip up there this weekend 🤞. Stay safe mate, atb, Ray
Nice to see the Moor again. I'm surprised that any Tor on Dartmoor could be privately owned and also what about walkers rights. Strange and a shame still lovely to see one of England's best gems once more. 🙏
Dartmoor Letterboxing used to be a thing years ago. Is this still happening, or has it been superseded by geocaching? Great video. Makes me want to get out there instead of being at work. Ha ha.
I have no idea of the ins and outs of neither letterboxing nor geocaching. But this was a silly amount of plastic containers in one tor. Thanks for watching!
It doesn’t seem right that that is privately owned. Don’t like that. Unless there’s a good reason I don’t know about. But still it’s very cool looking this was a great walk I liked this a lot thanks again Trev!!! Outstanding
Yea, it does seem a real shame, and there has been quite a lot of controversy about it by all accounts. It was a popular tor. Hopefully one day it will be available again!
Summit Or Nothing thanks. Just trying to get out been stuck indoors since April. Driving me mad. That’s for your videos they have been keeping me sane.
So far I have not encountered tics.... either that or I just haven't discovered them.... gulp! Thank you for watching, I need to get back to the South West Coast Path soon. Thanks for watching!
I'd have removed those geocaches, every single one goes against leave no trace principles and they're ugly AF. People shouldn't need a plastic box to want to travel somewhere that's worth travelling to anyway...

Yea, theres a few privately owned tors on Dartmoor - seems a shame, but what can you do? Thanks for watching!
Awesome! Can't wait to finish tonight's shift and get home to watch this Trev! Whoop whoop!
Cheers Mads!

Great video, the way it was edited was really enjoyable to watch, improving all the time Trev.
Thanks very much - glad that you enjoyed it! Cheers!

Fantastic vid Trev...

Hi Trev...can see Cox Tor from my bedroom window....Pew Tor definitely my favourite &visit it often...👍
Cool. We took the kid up around Cox tor this afternoon. It's a great area. Thanks for watching
Loved this one Trev, watched it on the way home from getting absolutely piss wet through after travelling up to Flamborough Head for a stroll along the coast and a chippy!
Cool - thanks for watching! Hope you managed to dry out by now. Cheers!
@@SummitOrNothing Cheap £8 fleece and £15 puffer jacket from Decathlon served me well!
What a lovely...and interesting...little walk. Pity about Vixen Tor being privately owned but there again at least it's not plagued with little plastic lunch boxes!. Cheers. Ken
Cheers Ken - was an interesting walk - glad I did it. Thanks for watching!
Reeally enjoyable video Trev, cheers. Lots of interesting things going on there, although really odd indeed to have those lunchboxes left like that. Has it become trendy somehow to do that in that location?

Hucken Tor....aren't they all after you've done a few?
Rhialobran..you might have more company than planned ;-)
Ah, enjoy the camp then, and you can still film the church - mine was just a glimpse really. Thanks for watching! Enjoy your camp!
Elliot and I had to bail on Brecon as the wind was exceptionally Jinxed. As we didn’t get a camp Elliot plans to join us this weekend. May have to be Early Saturday as lightning due on Friday. Well watch the forecast and see what happens 😁
Nice one trev
Cheers Terry!
Another great video Trev. I’ve copied this over to Outdoor Active 👍

Nice one Trev. I think Pew For might need all those caches tidied up into one spot. Not a good sight. Cheers.
I was thinking the same thing. Apparently there should be just the one up there - the others can be binned off!
Hi Trev, I love Merivale too. Camped at Pew Tor a.few weeks back, defo in the allowed area. My video covered many of the areas you covered. I called the woodland They Hidden Valeey’ Planned to be back out around here this weekend. ATB Ant 👍🏻😉
Cool - I think I will check out Pew Tor aswell at some point - was an eerie tor this, but interesting to say the least! Thanks for watching!
That's a bimble rather than a hike 😁
You're correct with that one.
I am coming down to do this walk next week . Saw it on your viewranger page. Looking forward to it. Also combining it with a wild camp now we are allowed from monday. Any thoughts on the best wild camping spot on this walk with a view ?
Hi Trev
Alway watch you , thanks for all you do .
Would you consider making a list of the tors in what3words , this would be a great help when on the Moor
All the best Kev
Thanks Kev. I have seen this What3Words advertised but not really had any experience of it yet.
Great video Trev. I have never enjoyed not visiting places so much :) It was good to see it is not heaving as much as it was a few weeks ago when I was there. Yea, I thought they looked excessive - just wannabes I guess tarting there own - crazy amount! Enjoy your trip, Ray!
As usual Trev absolutely top draw video , sampford spiney is pronounced like spine in your back not spin. 😊
Yeah, I think I got there in the end lol - cheers for watching!
Nice video Trev, looked a nice Tor that. New camera? The clips facing you looked a little different today, great quality as always anyway.
No, its the same camera - sometimes it struggles with the low light. Cheers for watching!
Nice to see the Moor again. I'm surprised that any Tor on Dartmoor could be privately owned and also what about walkers rights. Strange and a shame still lovely to see one of England's best gems once more. 🙏
Sadly theres a few tors which are privately owned, I guess that Vixen Tor is the most iconic of them.
Great quality video mate, but Forget my ignorance but what is a tour?
A Tor is a rocky outcrop found on moorlands. Thanks for watching!
Very nice camera work, was like i could reach out and touch it
Thanks Davina - glad that you enjoyed it!
Dartmoor Letterboxing used to be a thing years ago. Is this still happening, or has it been superseded by geocaching? Great video. Makes me want to get out there instead of being at work. Ha ha.

Enjoyed the video.. glad you didn't show the dead sheep.
Yea, it wasn't pretty - turned me right over 😖
I WOULD HAVE GATHERED UP ALL THOSE PLASTIC CONTAINERS AND BINNED THEM. THAT AMOUNT IS RIDICULOUS.
Yea, it does seem to disregard the leave no trace message
Nice vid. Was that nath hidden in the undergrowth with the other camera? I could see a bald head
lol
Very interesting terrain in that moor area.. Ha Geo Cache or Geo Trash... So many in one area and clearly visible would tend to be geo trash...
Yea, it seemed a bit much with all the plastic everywhere. Thanks for watching!
Do u ever record with an app so we could download route and follow.
I do, Colin. I share them on Viewranger for you to follow for free when I get around to converting them. Have just done this one on there for you!
It doesn’t seem right that that is privately owned. Don’t like that. Unless there’s a good reason I don’t know about. But still it’s very cool looking this was a great walk I liked this a lot thanks again Trev!!! Outstanding

Trev do you know anywhere I could wild camp in a wheelchair. Looks like my legs are out of action for a while.
Oh dear, mate - sorry to hear that - hope you make a speedy recovery!
Summit Or Nothing thanks. Just trying to get out been stuck indoors since April. Driving me mad. That’s for your videos they have been keeping me sane.
I'm camped on middle staple tor right now and all I can see is a chap in a flat cap at vixen tor 🤣
Yea, once seen you can't unsee haha! Hope you had a good night, mate
Very different walk from the SWCP.
Great views though..
Where the ticks about ?
Little cretins 🕷
So far I have not encountered tics.... either that or I just haven't discovered them.... gulp! Thank you for watching, I need to get back to the South West Coast Path soon. Thanks for watching!
Get out and do a bit of wild camping. You know it makes sense. You KNOW it makes sense!!
I know, I know, I've been slack lately, and busy to be fair! Thanks for watching!
Completely wrong that some billionaire owns a fucking Tore. Might as well bulldoze the thing if no one can enjoy it.
I know - its a shame, isn't it! Apparently guided by hher insurance company so as to not get sued by any injuries that may occur!
I'd have removed those geocaches, every single one goes against leave no trace principles and they're ugly AF. People shouldn't need a plastic box to want to travel somewhere that's worth travelling to anyway...
Yea, I know what you mean - agreed on all counts. Thanks for watching!
geocaching is horrible litter
Yea, I would have to agree with you - this was really disappointing!
