    This looks more like a cross between Brotato and Backpack hero than Vampire Survivers.

      It is, but it's unfortunately on the shallow side right now. While it has non-weapon items, it really needs the variety of fun items that Brotato has. There is nothing "special" you will find later on in a run, just higher tiers of the same things. It makes the game feel boring to play after just a few runs.

    Its weird that exp drops if it gets picked up automatically anyway. Some devs try their own take of a genre too faithfully

      EXP doesn't drop, it's automatically added when you kill things. Money is what drops and I think it's just to add visual interest on a kill instead of having the enemies just poof out of existence.

      maybe that's money dropping? I watched his exp bar when he started vacuuming at the end and it didn't move, it only moved on kills.

    It just dawned on me that the Wandering Bot item in Brotato HAS to be a reference to you lol. Idk why I never realized that before. Great item too.

    Fun game but needs a lot of work indeed!
    There has to be a way to "ban" weapons because the more you unlock, the more diluted your arsenal is, the more harder it is to get higher tier weapons that you need. For example, on my latest run I had only TIER TWO weapons lol and there are four tiers.
    My Ebony Dagger build was similar (9 daggers) but I went for 50% crits (4 pairs of gloves), +30 range, +16% lifesteal (gloves), +16% move speed (from a pair boots and 2 masks). On the last level I had 730 DPS which is not impressive compared to other builds.
    Other successful and fun builds:
    1) 7 Double Edged Axes (reminder: they have increased crit damage, 250% I think) with 56% crit chance and +10 range, one skull and boots (756 DPS)
    2) 12 Shortswords are very powerful like you assumed - I had 34% crit chance, +20 range, a pair of boots and skull (975 DPS)
    3) 8 Magic Staves (they act like RAILGUNS - higly recommend! but slow RPM) with 4 magic globes (each gives only +5 magic power, but with Wizard spec it goes up to total +40 magic power), +26% movement speed (pair of boots and 3 masks, because slow RPM is too risky and you gotta be mobile) and 1 skull. This had one of the best DPS of 1214.
    Best DPS was 1269 with 7 globes and 7 ice sticks. I thought how the hell I'm gonna get 50 magic power to unlock 2nd Wizard spec if one globe gives +5 and each weapon +1, but I forgot that he gets +25% to items with magic power. So not only it was easy, but also had highest DPS (with 1st try), I'm sure it can be optimized more.

    scrabble board style bonuses. A +1 weapon tile for instance, or a 2x adjacency bonus tile...

    I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure you can combine weapons Brotato style. I was watching DangerouslyFunny play this and he was combining weapons.

    9:10 I think that you could've had your two scythes each be adjacent to 2 spears at once. you'd have to put them in the middle row, in the same position relatively to each other as they are now, and then put the spears on the top and bottom row, in a way where the spear is being touched by the haft of one of the scythes and the tip of the blade of the other. This would give each scythe 3 polearm adjacencies (2 spears plus the other scythe)
    this doesn't really matter that much, i just felt compelled to point it out because i like arranging inventories

    the dagger build could do better if you align some 3 daggers horizontally instead tbh... well the not ebony dagger one

    IMO it is more Brotato + Backpack, but yeah it is a Bullet Heaven + Backpack

    I don't understand why you just made a row of vertical daggers. Alternating 3 horizontal and one vertical, for a 3 row fill, or one horizontal with 3 vertical for a 3 column fill, gets you maximum adjacencies with 2 adjacent to the corner daggers, 3 adjacent to the outlier edge daggers, and 4 to the majority of daggers. Same thing with the other comment about the scythes. Gotta get your Tetris brain going.

    This game doesn't seem to have nearly as many items that require specific positioning compared to backpack hero.

    Wander, the shield at 52:10 was only 2 slots (1x2) 😉seems like you were trying to make room for a 2x2 space, could have easily taken it!

    You really need to think about the shapes you create in your inventory, because you could have been expanding to have more spears and more scythes or other weapons, but by doing weird shapes you don't have the capability

    Not sure why the exp is picked up during the run. You get all of it and your level ups after the wave is over.

      Thats money, but there is probably no reason for that either except for the cool effect.

    The problem with daggers (and other single target weapons) is that they currently just target the closest enemy, so if you stack a bunch of the same weapon they usually end up all attacking the same enemy at the same time, wasting most of the damage. An all-daggers build is pretty non-viable after the first few floors because they basically can only kill one or two enemies per attack since they don't spread damage at all.

      I actually made a suggestion on the Steam discussions to have the enemies track the number of weapons targeting them and then have the weapons choose the enemy within range that is being targeted by the fewest weapons. Their community manager even responded saying they'd bring it up with the dev team, so we might see that in a future update.

      this is kinda false, while they do alpha strike when there are few enemies in range. If you actualy have multiple enemies in range, they spread out, you just have to have more range for it to work practicly

      @@gampie13 They do spread out a little, but that's because they target the enemy closest to the *weapon* not to the player, and the weapons are slightly spread out. When there are only a few enemies in range, the *differences* in the distances from each enemy to each weapon is usually larger than the distances between each pair of weapons, so they all target the same enemy. When there are many enemies, they crowd together more, so the differences in their distances to the weapons is much smaller and more likely to be less than some of the inter-weapon distances, so they end up targeting different enemies. However, this typically still results in 10-12 daggers attacking only two or three enemies per round of attacks, so a lot of damage still gets wasted.

      unlike AAA games, which innovate so much and have vastly different mechanics in each new iteration, like Madden, CoD, Mario, etc... XDDDDD
