The CVT transmission in this car was one of the reasons why I went with the previous gen Accord. I dont mind modern CVT's that fake shift but ones that just rev up like in this 2016 Accord, I just really don't like. Apart from price another reason I didnt go with this generation of Accord was for the oil consumption issue. Apparently, Honda did the Hyundai thing and made the K24 a GDI engine which leads to oil burning. My 2012 Accord has the 5 speed auto and the legendary K24 motor before GDI. Great car. Has never let me down.
I have the 2014 EX sedan 2.4. It was my first car and it’s a great car all around. Yeah you’re gonna want the v6 when it comes to more spirited driving, however, as a comfortable daily driver for a 19 year old it’s perfect. CVT isn’t the best but it’s certainly one of the better CVTs in the market. It has a good power band and enough torque to punch the gas here and there while taking some tight turns. I get upwards of 35 mpg on the highway and I honestly couldn’t ask for a better first car for its price.
Also , the newest gen ILX has the K24 motor with a DCT. It’s essentially what everyone wanted this car to be. Both cars are phenomenal pieces of machinery though.
I owned a 2017 Accord sport and loved it unfortunately i totaled it. I test drove the new hybrid Accord sport and ended up buying it but still think about downgrading to get another on of 2017 sport. It was just perfect. Smh Newer isnt always better.
@@DMCarReviews Thanks! Ive been looking but they are hard to find in the DMV area. When you do find them they never last more than a couple weeks at the dealer.
Another great review in my very own backyard... I must agree. I find this generation a bit quicker off the line compared to the 1.5T engine in the more recent Accord's. The next time you are at Fitzgerald Hyundai of Gaithersburg. Ask to test drive a 2015 Genesis 5.0... It would be interesting to hear your feedback and comparison from the 2015 to the recent review you did on the 2018 G80 5.0... If you choose to do so, you would be essentially reviewing my old car. It's stock # H08359C.
Forgot one trim level which is the sport “special edition” trim and that’s the one I have. Have a 2017 Accord Sport SE in the Basque Red Pearl II color with all leather for the interior and front heated seats
@@DMCarReviewsof course anytime. I wish for the touring in this generation they offered both the 4 and 6 cyl engines because Toyota does that with their high trim Camrys. If that was the case I would opt for the 4 cyl. I personally would have gotten the V6 but I heard that their transmission are notorious for going out prematurely. Also did not want to deal with the timing belt change every 100k
Daamn bro..easy on the buttons..like i tell my wife even tho its her Accord ..lol😅 how many miles? Her engine engine dont sound that good..does it have an exgaust? I guess we never stepped on it often lol
My grandma has a 2015 CR-V. I didn't think I would like driving it because I had previously driven a Civic and it was really underpowered. CR-V barely revs up to 2K to get going and driving in the city you wouldn't even know the engine is running.
@@DMCarReviews I get that slight delay when hitting the gas. I did some research and found out this only happens if you have a tear in your Intake which is pretty common for accords.
@@DMCarReviewshey man I know you like the Accord 2.4 more than the 2015 Altima you said you had in highschool but I guarantee you a 2016 Altima SR will dust that accord at racetrack!!!

Bro, the 8th Gen k24 also burns oil and it didn't have GDI.
Oil consumption on the 8th gen Accord is far worse than the newer K24w engines. Oil consumption and GDI are completely unrelated.
If the problem is the CVT transmission you should get the V6, the v6 doesn’t has a CVT transmission but should better say that you can’t afford it
the cvt is what makes this car incredibly fun to drive.
Another great Honda test drive as I’ve been wanting to see something like this!!!! All for Honda/ Acura
thinking about getting this vehicle for my first car, thank you for this great review
Thank you for watching!
Same bro , how much you looking to spend on yours?

I think the 2.4 is great!
Gave this video a thumbs up and i appreciate your test drive videos. You do a good job.
Thank you for watching!
I recommend this video to anyone who wants the sport
Would love to see you try out the V6 accord of this generation to see your thoughts! They are almost few to no POV’s on them on here :/
I'd love to film one too! I'll have to find one.
My 16 in a manual is such a fun car to drive
Nice!
Спасибо большое за тест драйв это одна из моих самых любимых Хонд 🙂🤝👍 обожаю её дизайн тест драйв получился очень интересный )))

i used to have a 2016 crv with this engine, floored it once and almost got deaf lol that engine is LOUD
Lol!!!
Junk
My grandma has a 2015 and I was surprised at how loud it was 😂😂😂
Nice drive, love the 9th Gen and can't wait for the V6 😁
V6 video coming Wednesday! Stay tuned.
Adorable honda accord specially v6 engine❤❤
I swear Hondas have a throttle lag, every Honda accord I’ve been in is like that, it rolls and then it kicks in gear.

@@DMCarReviews No problem. I found your channel last year due that review.🤗
Which one is better? I want the 2017 Honda Accord but I like the 2016
They are the same
get the one with apple carplay
lol! i just noticed this is in gaiterburg right?
Yes
Can you do the 2024 Honda Passport and Pilot? Thanks
Yes!
@@DMCarReviews thanks, love Honda, strongly considering the ‘24 Passport EXL for my next car. 3.5 vtec is a great engine
to get ur 0-60 faster u should try lauching the car instead of rleasing the brake then pressing the gas
This car had issues
no dont do that with a cvt you will ruin the belt on the trans, it causes heat scoring on the belt.
The EX-L and touring trunks have the ability to be opened from the back by a button.
Very nice!

CR-V is plenty powerful for daily driving
Could you do a 10th gen accord 2.0t and also 1.5t
Yes!
Yuck that CVT drone. Overall good car though. And nice review
Thank you for watching!
Can you do the Mazda 3 and Mazda 6?
Sure! Good idea.
Sounds like the transmission is low on cvt fluid. Had a homie of mine had this happen to him
Could be!
10:21 same thing happens to my 2016 Honda Accord Sport 2.4L whenever I stop at a red light or stop sign. Anyone know why this happens??
Misfires?

No wonder I always hear loud cars going down Midcounty. 😂
😂😂😂
Do the 22 accord exl next
I'll look for one
No auto review is complete without lifting the hood and discussing the engine
make sure u guys get the exl v6 without the cvt dont get the accord sport
Both are good.
Does this have Bluetooth
Yes!

To master cvt u godda mash it and get back on it regular quick

I hate cvt they get a very bad sucky reputation seriously why sell it most won't last
Infiniti q70 and q50 > accord or camry
they don’t even compare but okay
Not the same market
Going over 40 in a 25🤡👎
The speed is in kmh, so no laws have been broken :)
