+David Lyday i was disappointed when i found that out. sport should be more than 19" wheels and a few horses under the hood. If not stardard those things should at least be optional imo.
+IMAWARRIOR89 More than 19" wheels? Seriously? You must be really young-minded. 18" is fine unless you like riding around on thin tires that feel like concrete on bumpy roads. Try to be realistic.
+sdnative I don't mean to speak for others but I believe he meant that the sport trim should include more features then 19 inch wheels and extra 4 hp at that price point. The fact that you have to add 3000 to the base price to get 6 speakers and push button start on a 2016 model is rediculous
Dave another excellent review you are certainly keeping them coming. I have a 2014 EX-L with about 14,000 miles on it I would characterize my driving as spirited at times and a combo of city and highway I average only about 23-24 MPG. Rarely on longer highway drives I peaked at about 28 mpg but over the past 15 months of ownership 23-24 mpg is the norm. Your review was the first expert review that I have seen that addresses the mileage issue with the 4 cylinder CVT 9th Gen Accords. Keep up the great work!
my 2 cents. I have a 2016 Honda Accord Sport(cvt) with Honda sensing. It is the Canadian version. Push button start with remote start that also trigger the a/c when it is hot outside and heats it up when it cold outside. It even triggers the heated seats. 7 inch touchscreen with apple carplay and android play. Sunroof. Aluminum petals. The price I paid was $29,800 before tax. It has a great ride even with the 19's. CVT is fine once you learn how to drive it. Off the line it is sluggish but 25 kph to 75kph it accelerates just as well as a V6. Fit and finish is well beyond the value you would expect from a $30,000 car. My only complaint is the audio during FM radio is very very poor. Closest competitor would be the Mazda 6
just to let you know, your off road drive reviews were the best on youtube period, I don't know why you stopped but I hope you can get back to doing them :)
I love this car..... Wife and I with 2 kids picked up one a couple days ago ex sensing with leather seats option and I also added deck lid spoiler out the door 29,000 oh and we added Gap insurance..... Thanks Dave your the best!!!!!!
+bikephil You should of seen what I've driven before this decision.... Merc/Lexus/Audi/Range rover all of them was double, even triple this price. So no you wouldn't want my previous debt lol... Accord offers so much value that I couldn't pass this up and with Honda reliable reputation I hope to get many years out of it!!!!!!Thanks:)
Thanks for the video Dave. I know it is 6 months old, but how much "sport" is lacking in the accord sport? Would the 3rd pedal fix some of what's missing? How else would you add or could you add more "sport" to the Accord Sport? I guess it's sad when I get excited about 4 doors, a manual transmission and the word "sport" in the car name (e.g. Golf Sport Wagon, Accord Sport, etc.) ... or maybe it just means I getting "older". Unfortunately w/ the Honda formula, if you choose a manual Accord, your color choices become limited (4) and even more so if you choose the EX w/ a manual (2)...same story goes for the Accord coupe...why can't manual equipped cars have the same colors as the CVT cars? There is no Blue color in a manual sedan. Other car makers give you the full color pallet when you get a sedan in a manual.
No sunroof? That's a big plus for me. I'm 6'5" and the sunroof takes up headroom. Those wheels and tires look like they would ride hard. A standard LX with the Cvt is fine by me. I have heard that Honda Sensing can be a little flaky at times.
The Canadian version of the Sport really outclasses the American one. Proximity key + push button start and sunroof. We also get the dual screen infotainment unit.
Yeah, for some reason. Canadian Honda products and American Honda products aren't really that far compared to European Honda Products. But Canadians gets a better deal out of a Honda. I got a 2014 Honda Civic EX and I got heated seats. For some Civic EX, they don't have heated seats which is weird.
+EBR0N1N I have this 2016 canadian sport version, about 3000$ more, but the equipment value is there, bigger audio system, lane watch camera, integrated turn led signal at the exterior mirror, distance start button, front heated seat, apple carplay with the touch screen, sunroof
I want this car, in this color, in this trim, and with a manual SO BADLY. I know I don't know how to drive yet, but I've always been interested in manual transmissions.
I don't understand why do you need a push button start, I like to switch the key in the ignition myself, you don't want your keys in the cup holders or somewhere else
I often said they should offer the "sport" in the ex-l class with the V6 and all the options. In my area you see mostly sports as they are the best looking and more geared in the looks department with a younger family, driver. So I think an upscale version would sell well.
+William Monto I wish they would! I think that would sell very well like the Camry XSE. You can get the touring and it has the sport package with all the extra trimmings, but it's a little pricey.
+Bill Canadian sport version, you can have navigation by the apple carplay or android with google plans with the 8'' touch screen, and the sunroof is there to.
+Luke Hoisington I agree with this, you should be able to spring extra for push button start, heated seats etc.. etc.. I'm sure its not worth the cost for honda to be able to get so specific.
+Everyman Driver Great review...Why does Canada only have a Accord Sport with Push start (2) screen center stack with Apple Carplay & navigation?....Hondas options on trims are not well thought out at all IMO ..smdh
+oldtwins na sunroof is standard with the canadian sport version. the canadian version cost about 3 000$ more but I have a lot more equipment: push button start, free key entry, distance button start, sun roof, biggert audio system. Go to see on Honda.ca
Everyman Driver, I'm considering either the Honda Accord or the Honda Civic. Do you feel like the Accord is significantly bigger than the Civic? My primary concern is fitting 4 passengers in my car comfortably. I just don't know if the Accord is worth the extra money.
jdmfan 818 I agree a manual was my choice but wife nixed that thought. You may check into the added cost in insurance with the 6 speed manual before you decide. Also, if your not doing alot of highway driving it could get annoying constantly shifting gears .
I am probably going to buy a 2016 EX-L Civic now. Almost fully loaded, WAY more features. 15 less HP but much lighter. The Sport is a little nicer but it looks outdated. NEEDS: Push to start, dual information screen, and sunroof. Not too much to ask for. Also, the mpg is pretty shitty. Put a turbo in that thing. I feel bad for whoever buys this model because in 2 years I'm sure the 2018 will look a ton better.
+Daniel Estrada I sat inside one the other day and i'm this is all you get? If the Civic seats were better id get a touring model. The front seats in the civic made my back and shoulders hurt.
when would all cars have push start button as standard and lumbar support? that's something something that should be standard. in the next 5 months I'll be leasing one, so right I'm looking at the accord and civic. we're planning on a second kid so rear seat should long and wide enough for 2 car seats. I don't care for rear head room or room for 3 people I just want to drive comfortable since I'm 6'1 and kind of thick. this will be our second vehicle since I'm keeping my 2 door jeep.
looks great in red and the coupe can't wait until the next 2018 accord do in the next-generation the only trims I would lease or buy is the sport in red and the coupe in red or v blue only on the touring model great job honda this accord has do its job let's see the next will do the same.
I dont think you guys know how an actual push button starts works. When you buy a Bentley its an electrical connect to the engine..directly. When you buy a Honda, Nissan, or such..its mechanical and imulates a key turn. The "button" controls a cheap silinoid that will eventually fail in all models. One day you'll come out to start your car and nothing. I ll turn the key myself thank you. Btw i just bought that same car 6spd thanks for your video.
i had a accord loaner from the dealer. these things do eat a lot of gas for some reason. great looking cars, but the cvt and timing belts keep me away from it.
I don't know why everyone gets so excited about push to start, it's something bulldozers had for years before they ever put it in cars, and when it breaks it's expensive to fix.
I love the key and no stupid push start. Push start to me makes humans look so dumb, they can’t even turn a key. “I push this magic button to make my car go vroom vroom!” 🙄
I really want to like this car. The dual exhaust, the wheels, the sport styling, but WHY doesn't Honda let the sport have push button start and a sunroof? WHY? There is no point to keeping that from us. That would be a deal breaker for me as I'm used to push button start and true keyless entry in my 2008 Altima.
If it's done on you tube nothing but you would probably get an increase in subscribers or capture a whole new audience! you could do a review in a tank top or shorts see what happens......
+boondox max The canadian version of the sport 2016 have all that. It cost about 3 000$ more than us model, but you have the sun roof, proximity key entry, push button start and distance button start, apple car play with the touch screen, audio system is 360 watts 6speakers + sub, lane watch camera, front heated seat, mirror integrated led turn signal indicators. I have this 2016 Honda Accord Sport since october 20 and I love it.
No Smartkey?!?! Its 2015 Honda, that's just unacceptable! Its the most used feature on a car these days. Most if not ALL competitors have smartkey access even on their lowest trim lines these days. Honda please wake up!
Maybe im being a bit nit picky here, but i am really annoyed at Hondas new trim level nomenclature. It used to be, from top to bottom, LX, EX, DX, and occasionally CX (California Emissions models). Now LX is the base level trim? Huh?! And Spot, and Touring, and LX-L Touring Turismo V6 ABS ASL ABC XYZ supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Its not necessary. And sadly, it also sound an awful lot like Mazdas nomenclature of Grand Touring, Touring, and Sport. Its also weird hearing Honda engine statistics, with Torque as high as Horse Power, after having been so incredibly lopsided for so many years. Also, CVT's are dumb. Yes, i know they are a necessary evil for passing good numbers on emissions testing, but they are a scourge on the integrity of the automobile, and should be avoided at all costs.
just my 2 cents here, when he said its comfortable... its not cause seat very firm, ride is not good unless you live where perfect roads around you, if not you will be very upset you bought this car over Toyota or Nissan
Since the turbo Civic came out this Accord looks and drives dated, lowe torque than civic....... Time to turbo charge the accord and improve that interior. Time to compete with the Germans at least their entry models. Not buying this waiting for the new line in 2017
+Constantine Joseph The Accord actually has more torque than the turbocharged Civic still. And for the Accord, the newly redesigned model will not be out until 2018 so the 2017 will most likely be the same as the 2016 models with the addition of a SE trim! :)
Looks too much like a Camry now. The previous design looked much nicer. 2016 Altima looks better and is similar to the Accord because they both have a CVT and comparable horsepower.
I really like the Accord Sport, but I just don't understand Honda's refusal to offer the car with a sunroof, navigation, and LED headlights. It will soon be 2016. These options are not luxuries anymore.
+Bill in the canadian version of this 2016 sport model you have the sun roof, push button, apple carplay, 8''touch screen. It cost about 3 000$ more but a lot more standard equipment
David Lyday Many of us out there would love to have a sporty family sedan with some basic options - and yes, in 2016 LED headlights, navigation, and a sunroof should be basic options - without paying an arm and a leg. By the way, how can Honda put 4 speakers in an Accord in 2016? Too many of us worship the Honda name.
Dave I love your reviews, but you've got to be a huge lead foot because almost all of the reviews I see you do, you're under the EPA mpg estimates. lol
I own a 2016 sport. I drive a lot. I have 286,000 miles on it and have not had one issue at all! To me it still drives like it's new. Love it !
What preventive maintenance have you done?
How's the reliability of the CVT?
@@Danmandingo Yes that's what I want to know. So far I have about 64,000 on my CVT
I just purchased this in Silver today! I absolutely love it!
You like it?
You looking good girl! Holla at me
Listen Honda listen. The Sport needs 6/8 speaker audio, sunroof, and push to start.
+IMAWARRIOR89 Seriously lx and Sport only have 4 speakers in 2016
+David Lyday i was disappointed when i found that out. sport should be more than 19" wheels and a few horses under the hood. If not stardard those things should at least be optional imo.
+IMAWARRIOR89 More than 19" wheels? Seriously? You must be really young-minded. 18" is fine unless you like riding around on thin tires that feel like concrete on bumpy roads. Try to be realistic.

+David Lyday thats exactly what I meant. Thanks for understanding and clarifying for me.
The Canadian version of the 2016 Honda Accord Sport has push button start and a sunroof.
wha??? canada gets a sunroof?? yall dont even get the sun up there!
3:15 Woah sounds like you closed it with some authority there haha. Great review as always Dave.
Dave another excellent review you are certainly keeping them coming. just to let you know, your off road drive reviews were the best on youtube period, I don't know why you stopped but I hope you can get back to doing them :)
How have people become so lazy to put a key in the ignition. Not a big deal!!!
Hahaha
because its COOL, duh.
nah the key is cool
like the key too...
I own an Accord Sport and I love it! What a fantastic vehicle all around!
Fantastic review! No hesitation with uhm’s ! Great with giving us the details.
Nicely done. Fast enough to stay intrigued yet informative. Enjoyed it thank you
Great to see u back Dave!!
Love your reviews. I am from the Pacific Northwest as well. I have a 2015 Civic and really enjoy it.
Great review Dave. Always enjoy your videos. Best auto reviews on the web
+adkjamis46 Thank you - Dave, Everyman Driver

The sport model always looks better but misses the best elements. Like keyless. & Sunroof.
you should be a sports commentator with that voice
I like the New 2016 changes to the Accord Sport. Great value for the money!
+thomas4776 Its an awesome car.. love it more everyday.
Great review Dave like always lol. That color in the Accord is amazing!
I wish the Honda accord Sport would have come with the push button start with remote start. If it had that I would buy it in a heart beat
Hey back again with a review on a car im interested in.
Thanks for the video Dave. I know it is 6 months old, but how much "sport" is lacking in the accord sport? Would the 3rd pedal fix some of what's missing? How else would you add or could you add more "sport" to the Accord Sport? +Daniel Duong I guess it makes up for the higher taxes and bad exchange rate.
+EBR0N1N I have this 2016 canadian sport version, about 3000$ more, but the equipment value is there, bigger audio system, lane watch camera, integrated turn led signal at the exterior mirror, distance start button, front heated seat, apple carplay with the touch screen, sunroof
I think the v6 6spd only comes in coupe. 4 doors v6 has no manual transmission option. So far, I dont see none.
So the Sport is just an LX with an appearance package?
+Josh McCarthy I think it also has bigger wheel tire combo, stiffer suspension, and bigger brakes.
Bill other tires are what sets it off and all the extra chrome.
To get the best gas mileage you have to drive it in eco mode
I often said they should offer the "sport" in the ex-l class with the V6 and all the options. In my area you see mostly sports as they are the best looking and more geared in the looks department with a younger family, driver. So I think an upscale version would sell well.

+Bill Canadian sport version, you can have navigation by the apple carplay or android with google plans with the 8'' touch screen, and the sunroof is there to.
cool! thanks.
Do they make a 6 speed automatic transmission? I hear Cvt is sucks
Do they offer the sport with a V6 now?
If i accidently leave the car keys in the car seat, will the doors lock by themselves?
Felix Rko no
Thank you for great video Sir!
I'm very late but I have a 2017 Sport Special Edition. Superb.
they should make a sport package so you could get any options you want with the sport looks and extra 4 hp
+Luke Hoisington I agree with this, you should be able to spring extra for push button start, heated seats etc.. etc.. I'm sure its not worth the cost for honda to be able to get so specific.
Is the Honda logo (front and rear and steering wheel) of Accord Sports 2015 exactly the same size of Accord Sports 2016?
Yes
What color should I get
what does the panels behind the wheels used for?
I love Everyman Driver but I have to say Dave often gets very low fuel economy in a lot of his reviews because he seems to have a lead foot
+David Lyday True :-)
+Everyman Driver Wow thanks for responding that's amazing
+Everyman Driver Great review...Why does Canada only have a Accord Sport with Push start (2) screen center stack with Apple Carplay & navigation?....Hondas options on trims are not well thought out at all IMO ..smdh
They have the touring model which is fully loaded...
Push button start sucks in my opinion. Wait till you locked out of car. Too much high tech is marketing bullshit. However dealers will love you.
If it has push start then it has keyless entry so the car wont lock if the key fob is inside.
So none of the trim levels have a sunroof? Why? Pretty much every car nowadays comes with it standard
+Victor C. uh no, this is just a glorified version of the LX model, the lowest in the class. All the EX and above models have a standard sunroof.
+oldtwins na sunroof is standard with the canadian sport version. the canadian version cost about 3 000$ more but I have a lot more equipment: push button start, free key entry, distance button start, sun roof, biggert audio system. Go to see on Honda.ca
how to put accord sport in sports mode
Love mine... Amazing driving experience
Everyman Driver,
I'm considering either the Honda Accord or the Honda Civic. Do you feel like the Accord is significantly bigger than the Civic? My primary concern is fitting 4 passengers in my car comfortably. I just don't know if the Accord is worth the extra money.
Accord... More than comfortable. Civic is a little too small imo.
What happened to the carpet? Sound insulation was visible when you opened the hood. Such a shame for typically well put together and reliable car.
+DanSodorXBfan it's not really sound insulation. it's a hood drop to smother an engine fire. the clips are designed to melt off.
i have the cvt model, i should've waited or looked around more for the manual.
jdmfan 818 I agree a manual was my choice but wife nixed that thought. You may check into the added cost in insurance with the 6 speed manual before you decide. Also, if your not doing alot of highway driving it could get annoying constantly shifting gears .
What do you drive and why Dave?
US model is basically a base model with larger rims and 5 extra hp. I will take the Mazda 6 !!!!
And a nicer interior. The Mazda6 at this price point is basically the same.
+Daniel Estrada I sat inside one the other day and i'm this is all you get? If the Civic seats were better id get a touring model. The front seats in the civic made my back and shoulders hurt.
Versatile1983 I got a used Exl Accord, SOOOO worth it
2016?
when would all cars have push start button as standard and lumbar support? that's something something that should be standard. in the next 5 months I'll be leasing one, so right I'm looking at the accord and civic. we're planning on a second kid so rear seat should long and wide enough for 2 car seats. I don't care for rear head room or room for 3 people I just want to drive comfortable since I'm 6'1 and kind of thick. this will be our second vehicle since I'm keeping my 2 door jeep.
David Zavala this car does have lumbar support .
looks great in red and the coupe can't wait until the next 2018 accord do in the next-generation the only trims I would lease or buy is the sport in red and the coupe in red or v blue only on the touring model great job honda this accord has do its job let's see the next will do the same.
Why is 1080p so poor?
Great review...
I like his presentation. Nice.
Am i the only one that loves the fact it has an actual key entry? I hate the push to start button
Jasiel Arredondo I was under the impression they were for luxury cars only. I was wrong.
Sport SE should be coming in a few months for MY17.
4775willy Thanks for the explanation I've looked for. Besides, why is everyone so lazy to turn a key? Has a key ever failed or broken ?
No special appearance by Hondapro Jason 😞
i had a accord loaner from the dealer. these things do eat a lot of gas for some reason. great looking cars, but the cvt and timing belts keep me away from it.
Only the V6 models have the belts.
Honda has a Sport SE in the works. Probably a Sport, with Leather and red stitching and perhaps Android auto/car play.
Correct, but no CarPlay or sunroof :(
Yes, but maybe Honda realized it would take away sales from the EX and EX-L models. If the Sport SE had those features, it would basically be an EX-L.
Saying CVT and Sport is a contradiction in terms.
wish honda included the turbo from the civic instead
I don't know why everyone gets so excited about push to start, it's something bulldozers had for years before they ever put it in cars, and when it breaks it's expensive to fix.
I love the key and no stupid push start. Push start to me makes humans look so dumb, they can’t even turn a key. “I push this magic button to make my car go vroom vroom!” 🙄
I wish honda would forget the cvt
I really want to like this car. The dual exhaust, the wheels, the sport styling, but WHY doesn't Honda let the sport have push button start and a sunroof? WHY? There is no point to keeping that from us. That would be a deal breaker for me as I'm used to push button start and true keyless entry in my 2008 Altima.
+Viktor Freesmeier For all that, you need the canadian 2016 sport version. sunroof etc...
Grab a 6 speed manual next time. Especially since its in red and called the sport. CVT is the new ETC.
i just wished he did these reviews shirtless!
+A P D How much would you pay to see that? :-) - Dave, Everyman Driver
If it's done on you tube nothing but you would probably get an increase in subscribers or capture a whole new audience! you could do a review in a tank top or shorts see what happens......
Your in the wrong channel.
V6 manual or forget it...
No push button start. No sunroof. What the hell is Honda thinking. MAZDA!!!!
I have this 2016 Honda Accord Sport since october 20 and I love it.
very nice car..great review

2.4 or 2.5
just my 2 cents here, when he said its comfortable... its not cause seat very firm, ride is not good unless you live where perfect roads around you, if not you will be very upset you bought this car over Toyota or Nissan
Manufacturers need to stop putting LED drls on low trim cars, this looks identical to the touring model which is 10k more
Your an idiot, that's a good think because your car doesn't look like a cheap base model. Some people don't want to spend 10K more just to get them
+BimmerGuy170653 what you supposed to have all trims look the same
+Pablo Herasme The Touring has Jewel eye, the rest don't.
+BimmerGuy170653 ~ "Your an idiot"...
LOL!
Look who is calling the kettle black!
+Daniel Estrada. Exactly!
u definitely want the v6 sport man...
there is no v6 sport... sports only come 4 cylinders
+723lion EX-L V6 or Touring.
+Versatile1983 Manual V6 is available in coupe only. Honda's way to spread buyers across all trims.
I ended up getting a 2016 Kia Optima SX turbo.
+Versatile1983 Solid pick, Kia has come a long way in design and reliability.
Thanks. Unfortunately, in the US, as far as I know, these options are not available on the Sport.
+Bill That's a lot considering the sport only has 4 speakers
David Lyday Many of us out there would love to have a sporty family sedan with some basic options - and yes, in 2016 LED headlights, navigation, and a sunroof should be basic options - without paying an arm and a leg. By the way, how can Honda put 4 speakers in an Accord in 2016? Too many of us worship the Honda name.
+Bill I very much agree with you Bill
Fuel economy seems low. I own a 2013 accord and I average 31.
+Anonymous Hippo i average 25 and 35 in '16 sport.
Dave I love your reviews, but you've got to be a huge lead foot because almost all of the reviews I see you do, you're under the EPA mpg estimates. lol
Canadian version have 6 speakers +sub 360watts
+Michel Claveau Thank you - Dave, Everyman Driver
This car needs a sunroof without push button start.
Ha ha... The Honda Civic has Push Button Start and a Sun Roof. Ha ha.
Hard to find a fault? Its averaging 21 mpg lol thats horrible.
where did you get that number, is supposed to get about 27 city and 36 hwy, 21 is for the v6 not the 4
+crazy wheel Did you watch the review?! Thats the average mileage Dave was getting.
+Nick Olsen i avarage 29-30.5 on every tank of mine with this model. I do mixed city and highway driving.
+bigbuckoramma he rested the computer and I am sure he has been driving the car little hard
mpg varies..ive managed 38 city in my 14' accord. and up to 43 highway
Kia Optima is the way to go

beeps r so annoying. rather it said, "stop mudda pucker!"
Beautiful car but ugly in red
Mazda and Vw make this car look like garbage.
Andrewx8 88 lol mazda. Lol Vw unreliability
