Absolutely awesome to be able to hear the bass so clearly and yes, the problem with being human is we do make mistakes. When I played live sometimes my mind would go absolutely blank even during songs I had played hundreds of times. Thank goodness muscle memory took over and my fingers would just go to where they were supposed to be. Even at 55 my fingers don't move as nimbly as they used to 🤣
But unless it's an absolute grade A unrecoverable howler, mistakes really aren't that important. I bet not once has anyone gone to a gig by someone they love and had one mistake be the overriding memory of it. What's important is how you recover from them, innit? Every musician makes mistakes and anyone who says they don't is a liar. Yeah, sure, there are a couple of minor missteps in this, but a) that gig was an absolute hotbed of energy and I'm not surprised, it's probably adrenaline and b) nobody styles it out like he does.
Also - and I'm not picking on your comment at all, just bringing this up because I know it'll be mentioned - I challenge anyone to listen to and feel the absolutely electric atmosphere in that room and the connection between Mark and that incredibly fired up crowd - and take it from me, that's the most fired up Level crowd I've been in in the last 30 years in close to if not more than 100 shows - and *still* tell me the mistakes matter. They don't matter a *jot*. Not one. This is musical communication in action, not sterile perfection, which is exactly how it should be. It's hard to get it across on a phone video, obviously, but that was a really, really special thing.

What’s happened to the vox In the mix??? Saw them last night @ Indigo, London, and pleased to say that Mark, Mike and the rest of the band were in fine form!!! To the FOH mix engineer: You need to boost Marks vox in the FOH mix mate!, (last nights was a bit quiet as well…. (I know its all about the bass, but still, it almost sounded like a monitor mix)!
No, that's fair comment. I would have said the same until the last couple of tours (I missed the '21 tour when he dug it out again). I think the Status tone comes over as a more complete thing on gig footage. The Jaydee is more something you *feel* at the time, if that makes sense. The real glorious bottom end frequencies just don't come over so well on phone footage, but standing in the line of fire of the cabs like I was for this, oh my god :)
@@ebmm97 It didn’t have to be flawless. It was exploding with energy and absolutely bloody fantastic in the flesh. The bloke is 66 years old and still putting out that level of performance. “To play a wrong note is inconsequential. To play without passion is inexcusable”. Good enough for Beethoven.
Mark was spot on in the room! They had lots of fun on stage, and that was so nice to watch. Who cares about a dropped note? In the flesh I never noticed it, so unimportant...
The one and only Mark King...taste, technique, musicality, THRILL! What a musician!!!!
OMG fantasic shot as a *huge* Mark King fan and bassplayer i love that you can alomost *only* hear the bass - fantastic thanks so much :)
And-what an incredible, unimitable sound!!!❤
Wow that Bass sound🤩! Awesome playing!
I was there on the 30th. Awesome gig as always.
The best! bassist in the world!!!
Thanks for this Great upload Sir!👍
I love how you can barely hear any of it besides a bit of drums and that awesome bass! 🔥🔥🔥
wish they had done the solo in Chile! thanks for the footage
Thank you, Mark. For everything!
He is still the KING

Well... I was there in Haarlem, being a bassist my self, I only noticed greatness...
I like it, Leese‼️❤
If we could hear it in DSD format/quality .
Great start of the journey!
Pretty good
Ooof! ❤

Did you read the description? All the answers are there.
lol sounds like you’ve plugged your phone into his DI
😂standing in the line of fire of those cabs, not really much choice!!
Might be in the minority here but I do prefer Mark's Status tones.

I guess I love the warmth of the JayDee...
Signature Mark... who's complaining?
As nice as the bass is, it can't be easy to play that beast at his age. It's a heavy old thing
It’s about 12lbs, IIRC.
I guess Mark is used to it by now😂😂😂
Hate to say it, but it looks like the great man was struggling a bit, not his usual flawless performance. He must be human after all. Great upload!

It's his band, his songs...he can play what ever effin notes he chooses!!
I don't believe they've played Mr Pink for this tour so I'm guessing it was a last minute addition, but saying that it's bloody amazing
@@JBass42They dug it out off the cuff on one of the Japanese dates but yes, it was amazing!

Great stuff !!! thanxs for the upload!
