Shouldn't feel your lower back at all with this. Either a stabilization issue or bad hinge mechanics. I think Squat University has some videos on how to properly hinge, so check it out

Its just becomes a different movement. without the hip hinge its works quads, not glutes mostly.

What helped me was equally spreading my weight over the 3 points of my foot 🦶. That immediately solved my problem
