We all have that friend or family member that eats whatever and rarely go to the gym but they are in better shape the most people that diet and exercise

What we need to remember is that it's definitely worth it to put your DNA in these data pools if this is something that interests you and you think will be beneficial. The larger the pool, the better research and results will come. So yeah, these tests may be in their infancy still, but they will only get better if we keep testing. For example I get almost yearly updates from Ancestry DNA where my results get more and more refined as their data pool expands. The same thing will happen with food dna as it advances.

Why not "study" (1) skinny people - that eat whatever the want and then (2) Heavy people that exercise + eat salads, etc - but seem to can't loose weight - and then "reverse" engineer it - to find out the "Why" for these "outliers" (especially the skinny ones). Trust me, I have 2 skinny friends who've eat nothing but junk food + whole milk, butter, cheese, pizza, burgers, energy drinks and can't put on a single pound! Just food for thought. (Perhaps there are some dna references going on in there)!

The fat people who say they eat salads are probably still eating at a calorie surplus even while exercising. If you maintain a calorie deficit you will lose weight, but understand that it will slow down your metabolism so if you decide to stop dieting you will gain weight faster if you return to a unhealthy lifestyle

Because the difference is their DNA. Once we find out how dna affects metabolism and such, people will have better knowledge of their ideal diet and exercise for peak performance. The actual truth for most heavy people is that they need to burn more calories than they eat in a day so that they’ll tap into fat reserves. It’s exhausting and miserable, but it’s just how the body works. That’s how actors get in shape, they are motivated by that million dollar paycheck

from a certified "skinny person" ( 5'4 109 pounds) I can tell you I eat whatever I want but that doesn't mean I don't pay the consequences. What keeps me skinny is that whenever I do eat whatever I want I usually become pretty severely constipated and end up losing the weight from having to expel it, it's a constant cycle. Most of my friends who are also skinny are this same way, that or they eat whatever they want, sure, but in smaller portions or eat say 1 meal a day instead of 3.

My "Skinny Friend' eats non-stop (chocolate milk, pizza, burgers, sodas, etc (3-5 meals a day) and it good portion sizes too. So I do believe some people either (a) don't absorb all the food (b) or have a higher metabolism. Meanwhile some of my family members eat salads, water, and try fairly well (no smoking or alcohol) and they struggle with weight. So it would be interesting to do a real study on "skinny people" vs others (that struggle) on the other side of the scale. My its in their DNA or gut biome (or maybe the people that struggle have a "predisposition" for diabetes, low metabolism + low thyroid function despite regular exercise, moderate eating + no sodas, etc. - which stifles their ability to burn fat). Anyway it would be interesting to find out. :) (Food for thought anyway, no pun intended, lol)! : )

@@nute742 I mean, are you monitoring what they eat everyday?Like are you with them everyday to really notice their eating habits? Or just what you notice them eating whenever you're around them? because they might have days where they eat much less or nothing at all when you're not really around them, hence them being able to stay so skinny. I can tell you I for one eat a lot when i'm with my friends but barely anything when i'm alone and going about my day to day.

It is and I'm flat broke, 99 so that you can start and skip all the guess work and trial and error, 99 for the info you need so you don't pay a personal trainer or any1 or thing else, I'm cheap and this is a cheap price I thought it would be any where from 500 to 900

Sadly that is actually the cheapest one offered by any genetics company. 23andme charges $200 for the equivalent dna test and health report.

Nothing worse than a person pushing their bias opinion while not allowing the other person to make their points clear and with a smile on their face to try to defuse any conflict from the other side (smile pass…(This causes the other person in most cases to back down in fear of sounding too aggressive) AKA weasel move…and then trying to sum up their opinion as fact with the notion everyone is in agreement in the end.. that guy is a coward for that, and to make it worse the host basically did the same to the woman by not allowing her to make her point and quickly end the conversation with basically backing that guy up.
Terrible hosting.. he obviously has no 🏀🏀 and didn’t want to step on the guys toes at all.. weak. Another reason why Joe Rogan is so popular and hosts like this stink and will never become as popular.. people see through the BS.
