    I bought a 2019 gp1800r new and was really impressed, rode it about 10 hours and then the pandemic hit. Did all of the efficient/ performance mods during the pandemic and now my 93 YO Mom needs care. Hopefully next summer I'll get my older self out on the water and see how it goes. Not sure how accurate the speedo is but with slight ripples on the surface it showed 81 mph before my mods. Like flying on the water, crazy experience 😜

    Anyone has the GP 1800R HO? I would really appreciate hearing your opinion about it!
    Since I wanna get this machine (2022 version) but I also want to be able to do sort of 90s tricks (sharp turns and wave jumping etc.) And I wonder if this machine is able to do that sort of stuff. Can you tell me?
    Also are you able to comfortably fit 3 people on it? And tow wakeboard/tube with it?
    I would really like to hear your pros and cons on it🙏

    The Yamaha WaveRunner GP1800R, 2023 model has a bridging plastic support ( @3:01 of this video cross brace on the middle when the seats are removed), which is passed over the engine cover. I removed the engine cover and three of the spark plugs, but the one which is under the bridge and socket wrench, with any adaptors I tried, I cannot unscrew the spark plug, and I'm in severe trouble cause my socket and extension in stuck inside and I can neither unscrew the spark plug nor remove the extension and socket!
    I thought of removing the seat supports around with all its screws, but...uh!!! WELCOME TO THE WORLD!!!
    PLEASE HELP, PLEASE PLEASE

    I have that same model but in all black, with some very minor modifications (ribbon delete and air filter) I got 107km out of it, now I have a tune I get 116km on flat water. I absolutely love it, I have had the SVHO in past and to be honest I like this more! As I can ride it as hard as it will go and that meets my riding abilities.

      @@sparke1999 Yeah I’m in Manitoba. We have 2 Kawi dealers!! Maybe 3 for Yamaha. If you want a close dealer you have to buy BRP. My dealer is only 2 hours away for the Kawi so it’s not bad. Price is up there but they’re less then a comparably equipped supercharged Yamaha - especially in 2024! If you want supercharged and not to blow the bank you have to go GTR. I also liked the Polytech 2 hull on the GTI. Very solid and scratch resistant!

    Great video tk! I am a little surprised that these things don't require a helmet to operate, like a motorcycle. If you spill off at 100km/h, life jacket or no, you are done. Speed is one of the biggest dangers on the water, especially for something that is so capable in shallow water. The temptation of bad behaviour on this type of pwc must be REALLY strong. Is 100 km/h really necessary? Could you do a decibel reading on these things at different speeds and proximities? Great video, cool machine, but it's the nautical equivalent of a super bike: something more at home on a closed track than on public roads. Cheers.

      It’s not about NEED do you need a 1000hp Tesla? No but if you’re in an intersection and a tractor trailer is barreling towards you it might be damn nice to have. Or you might just wanna go smoke some muscle cars at the local drag strip ! Either way this is America and tits an about WANTS not NEEDS .
      That’s what the constitution is about. Being able to enjoy what you WANT.

    • @Aaron.Davis56
      @Aaron.Davis56 Рік тому +1

      The helmet would become a big scoop and rip your head off probably. In Connecticut, there is no motorcycle helmet law, just glasses for bugs and flying debris

    • @briantii
      @briantii 7 місяців тому

      They've been this fast for 25+ years. This model specifically is actually pretty slow in the world of performance PWCs. You do need to be careful, but the biggest concerns are not to others but to yourself and those on the ski. The biggest risk is hitting rough water at speed and not being able to handle it as a rider. With practice and skill these are very easy to control and safe, especially compared to what we were riding 25 years ago which didn't handle chop nearly as well.
      And yes - as pointed out above - helmets would likely increase injuries, not reduce them.

      @R1Kyle Рік тому

      LoL --> This is Yamahas top level racing machine, it is built to lean and corner. The old GP1300 hulls are one history looks at as one of the greats but the new GP hull will shred in in almost every aspect. It is not as prone to wash out when playing but that is not what it was designed for

    You really do not want to hear what I think.
    The guy that tested this machine is more in tune with the performance of his couch and a bucket of KFC not a higher performance PWC albeit just a NA machine.
    I to am a bigger guy but a darned good athlete, especially for my size. I will take the SVHO and would want nothing to do with the HO if I am spending my $$$. But that being said these machines, even the HO, are not for people without decent physical ability and very little time on higher performance machinery. The laws of physics do not respect stupidity.
