I have the 2023 GP1800r HO and what you said about fatigue is 100% true, after a day of hard riding you feel like you have been run over by a train. But I still love how fun it is, that’s why we have PWC in the first place is fun!!

When the water is choppy you're going to be happy you got the big comfy cruiser. The bigger platform on the back makes it a much more useful machine. All that speed is unnecessary but I'm sure it's nice to have. Dark coloured wave runner? No thanks, bright colours for me , I'm not looking to get hit by any boats.

I couldn't have said it better. I compared them all and had a deposit on two FXHOs. By the time I bought them, floating docks and all the rest it was over 50k. I passed

I have the 2023 fxsxho and before buying I was concerned about the dark colors but as long as you're not out after dark you should be visible enough to any boats thanks to Yamaha's rooster tail that gets shot up behind you.

Wear Bright colored clothing & vest. And even though you are on a brightly colored ski, it doesn’t make up for the intoxicated, impaired, un- or inexperienced operator as well as the operator who is not paying attention. You are the only one that can completely protect you (and your passenger (s) ).

I’m 60 years old, I wanted a machine that was fast, I told my salesman I wanted a waverunner that could peel the paint off an oil tanker, he sold me a GP1800R SVHO, I questioned weather I was biting more then I could chew but now it’s been three years, I’ve never been beaten in a race by any other machine, I’ve never seen another GP where I go, the acceleration and cornering is amazing, 0 to 70mph right now, hang on hard, turn and do 70mph the opposite direction before you can blink, I love the GP and now I’m looking at buying another one. So much fun. If you want luxury, buy some slow boat.

Why do a comparison between a supercharged fx vs a Non supercharged gp1800 that was stupid

    • @AddictionForAdrenaline
      @AddictionForAdrenaline 6 місяців тому +3

Right! 😂😂 I was just about to comment that. I have a 23 gp supercharged at I got it to 72 mph before, perfect conditions, but usually it’s likes 69 funny enough

I thought the comparison was interesting too. Some people don’t know where they fit in the model line. So diversifying the choices might make it a little easier. Yamaha (& Sea Doo) put out like 200 models (exaggeration on purpose) a year. Not everyone can afford the top of the line, and even though the base model is more affordable, the model they need will likely be somewhere in between. I usually tell people just get out on the water with what you can afford, and sell it when you find the one that meets your needs. This generally takes two to three seasons to figure out anyway.

    I have a 2024 FXHO... love it

A more fair comparison would be either the Super charged version of both or the ho version of both. Also strange to test the performance with the rec deck and a cooler on it. Probably handles better without the extra weight.

Yes. But, frequently people buy one get out on the water and had not realized all the other options. And those options cost money. The next step after they get out on the water is figuring out what they want to use their ski for. Then they can more intelligently buy for their specific needs and desires. I often tell people to rent them first. Get an education on them so they can learn about what they enjoy. Or not enjoy (frequently how wet they get or don’t).

Is the VX Cruiser HO a good medium between the two?

Yes, have a ‘24 vx cruiser ho it’s best of both worlds between the two. I totally recommend it.The light steering feel is car like and nimble, tops out at 67 for me at 7,700rpm 😊 super fun to throw it around at low speeds, the steering isn’t as precise when going faster it requires more input. I got about 4.5 hours on a full tank before the low gas beeping set in. Great machine overall

Could you pull a skier with 1800r HO?

Not sure where to ask this so I'm commenting on different videos.
Should I get the FX cruiser or just FX? I'll be in the ocean and also riding long distance (not getting a SVHO).
I also don't care about color because I'll be wrapping it.
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Like with cars and trucks the price of PWC's are ridiculous...no way is it worth near $27k and then tag on the HST and you're almost in the mid $30k area which is insane...I bought my wife a new Honda Civic last year and it was only $2000 more than this FX which makes zero sense to me.

Good point - however we find the Civic just doesn’t float well

Good point, what makes these PWCs and SxSs so expensive? Just economies of scale differences to mass produced road vehicles?

The civic doesn’t have a high performance supercharged marine engine. Plus the ski puts out almost double the hp

I have owned a lot of dirt bikes in my life, and have never seen a dirt bike with such a wide seat. So what are you talking about? I don't want a personal watercraft for obese people. I want one for normal sized people. Also, that drag race seems kind of slow. I would want a personal watercraft that is faster than these two. Probably a Kawasaki Jet Ski!
