Ha!! Just got mine today! 😍. Got a b1 but now have literally an all day carry multipurpose strobe...people can complain about price but you get what you pay for.. A pro piece of gear that will last you a lifetime.. An led I can see during the day!! 😎..if you can't afford buy what you you can afford and don't cry and moan cause you wish you could have it! 😁
How do you feel about the power output for either studio/outdoors? Specially putting it through larger modifiers/diffusers, and lighting full body? Did you have do bump up your ISO too often to compensate? I used B1Xs but I’m considering semwitching to B10s, but a little concerned about the output loss. Thank you so much for the video!
I would love to see the b10 in use during a sunny day with no shade. I am currently only using godox speedlights that have misfired and l am ready for a quality strobe. I was originally waiting for the profoto a1 for Sony to be released but this is the next best thing. As always you are a professional who is using sony and these types of reviews are hard to come by. I know a video on the subject is a lot too as for especially considering the time and money that go into your production so just a blessing as to move forward on my b10 purchasing process would be much appreciated. Keep killing the game!!!
Really nice video, B10 is for Rich guys or very Professional$$ photographers (at $1,600). For "budget" photographers Godox AD200 ($345 with trigger) is a better option, light, compact, powerfull. In my opinion. B10 is no bad, but is very, very expensive. I can buy five Godox AD200+Trigger for the price of one B10.
AD200 is a nice light but it’s not as powerful, modeling light isn’t good for video, can’t charge while you use it, and needs a special bracket to use soft boxes. People will pay $$$ for a lens but won’t pay for a quality light.
@@MSmatt76 powerful, yes you can double the power with the adapter. The Bowen mount cost you $23. And no everybody take video. Only the 18% of the photographer take videos. I never charge batteries on location, Profoto @ $1,600, you can buy four AD200 and good amount of extra batteries. What is your point rich guy.??
specialized41 The point of this video was an all purpose light meaning stills and video. He asked for other options and the ad200 was mentioned as an alternative to the B10. In my opinion, due to the things I mentioned, the ad200 is not a suitable alternative for stills and video. The ad200 a cool light that has nice features, yes, I have nothing against it.
So the light for video looked more harsh than the 120d should have been. Much more shadowing and less wrapping on the light around your face. I do like the fact that it is a dual purpose light with both continuous and flash. Might be a good addition to a camera bag but for most video the 120d is still a better choice.
Thanks for all your videos and tips. appreciated. But B10 is Crazy expensive light. please consider some budget option too. all your viewers aren't rich :P
Just wondering how it is as an effective continuous light system; How long will the modeling light run on a battery charge? Also, how does it compair in tougher ligting situations (aka not a dark studio where it is easier to control all factors) and lastly, any budget friendly options that you would recomend?
Thank you So Much, Miguel I was scouring youtube looking for info on this exact topic! I mostly focus on cinematography and film in general but have only recently been getting into photography. I have a decent amount of equipment already and I'm working on building it up further. After moving from California to NYC, having a car to taking public transit I also have been looking into more portable options. I've been looking into a good light kit but until I can afford a good quality light I wanted to get a single light for any gigs I might come across and work with that coupled with the Yongnuo ( yn360 handheld led) and the Quazar Science (Q-led crossfade 2'). I'm a bit all over the place with some of the gear I'm trying but I hope to see what will work best for a similar reason you mentioned in this video. I recently graduated with a film & tv production degree so my heart is in making indie films but I also enjoy macro photography. I mention this because it might help to know what I would use the light to best answer my question. So aside from the aforementioned and my growing love for portrait photos, how would you use the Profoto B10 with other lights to get what you do, done? I would like to see how well it is with skin tones of varying shades, and of course photo and video. Thank you so much for making this video and also your others. I get lasting education from them and this will no doubt help me in my career. P.S not sure if it matters but I"m a Sony A7 iii shooter
Expensive, expensive exxxxpensive. Obviously, there are levels to getting gear and this particular light isn't for all however there is usually something out there that can perform the "almost" the same quality but not quit however it will still look nice. When I graduate from being a novice I will definitely consider this light.
Awesome insight... Great light 💡 indeed.... you said you had work for the next few days... if you need pro bono help I’d love to help out and learn from watching...
Thank you and I appreciate the offer! I usually post on my Facebook page when I have a gig that requires assistance, so be sure to add me on there if you haven't already :)
Profoto is expensive; especially if you're are only shooting and burning images on a CD/U.S.B. drive for $150. If you fall in this category, you need to reevaluate what you're doing.
Dope vid.. shopping around for lights and comparing B10s vs D2s and everything is pointing toward the B10s. Thanks for posting.

For those on a budget look to the Interfit Badger Unleashed unit. Awesome unit. I do like the Profoto B10 but the price is just way out of my reach.
Thank you! I was stoked on the b10 till i clicked the link and saw the price.

Thanks! Keep in mind, I'm talking about a light that can be used for Photo AND video. Those other lights you mentioned are mainly for photos. 😁👍🏻
@@GilbertTV Oh, Godox is smarter than Profoto . . .

Hi Miguel! Do you think it will be good for videography at wedding receptions, speeches, dance, etc? Would it have enough power/throw? Thanks.
Thanks for all your videos and tips. appreciated.
But B10 is Crazy expensive light. please consider some budget option too. all your viewers aren't rich :P
Thank you for watching and supporting my content!
Might not be rich but I'm saving for a B10 now.
If it's expensive, begin the increase of your pricing.
Great content as always Miguel! Due to the price, is there something comparable at less cost to produce similar results?? Thanks in advance.
I like your proposal. What I would like to see is how the B10 works in extream weather. Cold and Hot.
I have it. Love it

What's your opinion on the elinchrom elb400 with Hi Sync, For me it works much better even though i love my Profoto B1/B2

Great video!! Im really looking forward to using a B10 kit! Is it possible for you to show a BTS with B10 outdoors in a snowy situation?
Thank you! And yes, it's very likely with these snow storms coming up 😀👍🏻
fantastic light ... profoto B10 is awesome..
Indeed it is!
Is there a transmitter for Sony? Awesome light
Yes indeed! I'll link it in the description for this video 👍🏻
Great
Nice alpha cap ;0) cool video I have the B10s great lights
Thanks brother!

I keep trying to tell my friends this but no one believes me! 😂✌

Hey Miguel! What are the RGB LED light panels you use? Can you please comment or post a link? Thanks!
amzn.to/2DzOK85
They aren't RGB, I just apply colored gels to these 😁✌️
I gotta get me some sexy purple and teal gels!
Wow!!! $1500!!! You can buy 2 AD600'S and more for that...
AD600 won't work for video, we're talking lights that can be used for both photo and video 😉✌️
Well i stand corrected!!👍👊
For $1600-2000 it better be amazing lol
Thankfully it is 😁👍
@@MiguelQuilesJr one day I can be a baller like that..
Till then It's flashpoint AD200's & amazon ring lights

Honestly, the light in your video looks one step better from using an iPhone led light. It's not bright, the color is bad and it's harsh.
And iPhone led? You're funny 😅
Lux? Lumens isn’t really relevant

As soon as he says profoto i just clicked away
