New viewer here - I'm SOO glad u got to dock at night. I can't even imagine what it would be like during the day! Just a thought - you might want look for an all-night diner or a place to chill for a few hours. I'm sure there are a few in midtown. Walking around NYC at night is great though. I do enjoy it. Good luck and God bless
@@pcap2700 Do you ever stop at any of the street food vendors for a bite to eat? We didn't have cash to try anything this trip, but next time we might!
So you working for a subcontractor that delivers mail. From New York all the way to California. What happened to air mail. Please cover up a lot more when you in New York city. We all love you all and trucking together to. 😃👍🤟🌟🥇
The poor drivers that pulled in after us had to get escorted out of a no truck zone by the police. Complicated to some I guess. I think during the day would be a whole different challenge for sure maneuvering the busy streets.
Ohhh yeeaaa, just a fun easy place to do truckin stuff ain't it? 😂😂 oh man I hate that place. At least you guys got it done together. I was by myself when I did it and I was so frustrated I couldn't stand myself 😂. Stay safe guys!
Who knows I may have to do it solo one of these days. I am happy that I wasn't alone!! I want to vacation out here on the future, I really liked it. How long you been driving for?
After 20 years running oversize into nyc from ct i dont miss any of it. The arm pit of the east coast . It was real tuff after hurricane Sandy….. what a mess. Be glad you dont pay the tolls 😂👍👍👍
That brings back memories. Delivered on those docks at USPS Manhatten a long time ago. Unfortunately I done it mid day was crazy. Was 17 years with Quad Graphics in Wisconsin delivering magazines and a lot of USPS deliveries. A lot of drops in the big cities are all in downtown areas that have been there a long time. Not real friendly for 53 ft trls on an OTR truck
Yes, just do your research and be careful! From my experience, driving in NY was less stressful than a bad winter storm. Make sure you're confident in backing :)
If you arr at the post office in Manhatten, I've been to that location first thing in the in broad daylight! Traffic is very heavy! Took practically all day to get loaded over there. Things aren't clearly marked in NYC so if you ever hit places like Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens etc you definitely want to use the NYC truck route map online. I took a big wide-open street coming out the Bronx one day and got a $475 ticket for using a non truck route. Got a lawyer because there was no sign indicating that and the city said they don't have to post signage so pay the ticket!
@TruckingWithLadyK the Manhatten location is actually pretty easy. It's the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Jamaica areas that can be extremely difficult. You also have to get used to seeing low clearance signs like 12' 6" that you can actually clear. That's why if you know a city website for truck routes then it'll be good for you to know your route incase you come up on a very low clearance sign.
Hey. U All Doing Ok?? Like the Video and Scenery!! Thanks for Sharing. I Thought in Video Made bout being With Capitol instead of CEVA, Said Going from California to Connecticut, Not NEW YORK!! U Guys Have Some Guts to Take Truck There if Never Been To New York in Passenger Vehicles or Something!! I Don't Think I Want Travel to NY in Passenger Vehicles, and Probably NOT in BIG TRUCKS!! Do What U Love, Love What U Do! Take Care 😇💪😎
They told us after we got to Connecticut that we were to take an empty trailer to NYC to get loaded. I have driven in big cities like San Francisco and Downtown LA in my own car before. I had an idea what it would be like because of that. 😊 We are doing great, thx for asking. Hope you have a great week too.
Yes you and Michael get the hell out a New York City. Drop your load off if you still have it in back of your truck. That's the worst place that deliver anyting in the United States of America. I will pray to God for both of you being his hands. 👹👹👍🤟🌟🇺🇸
Not to burst your bubble or anything guys but you're in one of the most unsafe cities in America especially depending on where you are and what neighborhood you're in to unload stay safe out there
Interstate signs are great coming into the city but when you're going into a place like New York city streets are narrow and there are not a lot of places to turn around for a big truck
The streets were well marked either truck safe or not, I thought. I wish I got better footage of that. There were many sign directions for local truck deliveries and drivers going thru. My Qualcomm navigator let me know which roads were restricted and don't allow trucks Incase I missed a sign. 😊
Gr8 Vid & SAFE TRAVELS out there!!!!!!😎🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🇺🇸🎥📽📹📷📺🖥💎💰💰💰💰💰💰💰

This load from New York went to Naperville, IL.
Did you guys blind side into the dock?????
Yes it was a one way street. I got out to help guide him and stop traffic.
Nice video thank you
Used to run that every week from Va, NY is very simple just move at night when traffic is less.

Thanks for taking me back home even if it was only for a few minutes.I hope your mom and Martin can get that engine rebuilt and running.
You're welcome! I hope so too 🙏

How much you weigh Mike. ? Guessing. 350...
Your lucky you didn't have to backup to the dock during the day. Nice work on the videos
Is 6 months experience enough to drive successfully to nyc and Queens? If not how much experience do u recommend?

Very busy all the time. Stay safe.
If you can make it there, you can.make it anywhere 😉😆
New York is full of rude drivers … and tough people.
You are okay walking around, as long as Michael is with you.

That was what concerned me the most is no signage and getting ticketed. Even in Sacramento it's like that.

Calm!!!
Lady K...Sounds like you don't have a "TRUCKERS GPS". Don't use ur phone GPS. U can buy a Truckers GPS just about any where.
Good video 😊 new York can be difficult in traffic also dangerous in some areas 😀
Do yall not drive for CEVA anymore
Ceva starved us out. They didn't have much work available.
Dang thats a big guy
Nice observation. He's the best!

Oh yes good old New York City where everything can get a trucker in serious trouble. I haven't run the city in 30 years. Thank God.
New York City is the absolute worst place to deliver or pickup.
Don't get on the parkways
