That route, at that time of day, should be a driving test route for heavy trucks 🚚 😢. Nicely done Steve, no Sat Nav can keep up with that pace. Great video, brilliant audio, ASMR top shelf. Thanks for sharing
I'd end up with PTSD driving thru that jungle everyday. One has to have a lot of situational awareness or you're screwed. Nice you have some new buddies - we all need them. Be safe!
It's amazing how much people driving changes once you hit New York. It's like a light switch you go from safe driving Then you're driving go's right out the window
Boy I sure do not miss that type of situation to drive in. Done the New York, New Jersey, Long Island driving and it seems it’s never changed. Ya got to go in and let everyone else do there thing and you just keep your wits about you. Don’t get involved with the surrounds and the shit happening around you. So many drivers will not go there. Another great video FSC. Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails and happy motoring.
I totally don’t miss my days driving. Down the LIE and the BQE. Traffic honestly looked kinda normal by the Brooklyn bridge… and the Verrazano bridge didn’t seem to busy which was a plus. Nice close up of Fort Wadsworth, some very cool gun emplacements there.
Great video Steve really enjoy all the different camera angles and your commentary. You definitely can drive with the best of them in the area you were in. Thanks for sharing stay safe Steve definitely Very nice looking Kenworth with all the lights and sounds.
Damn....You were in my back yard. Sorry you had to endure our drivers and traffic. I live it every day. Not driving a big rig but I'm on the road all day.
😅I like your videos and commentary but really enjoy you different camera positions. Gives viewers a great since of good drivers handling their rigs. Keep them coming. THANKS Steve rhome tx.
Hey Steve, another fine day in NYC, eh? When I heard the horns honking it brought back memories of the NY salute. Good video, great job keeping your cool and the blood pressure down 👍 Safe travels, my friend!
Good eye young man. I learned along time ago you just have to get crazy with the rest of them. I don’t miss that one bit never lost anything over there don’t care to go back 👍✌️
That's a cool cabover. I hardly ever see those kind light u[p like that. My Grandparent's had a KW like his but a little bigger like the one on the old TV show BJ and the Bear. Same paint setup but there's was black and white.
M'a'a'n heavy traffic. I've rode some of those roads east West coast in a furniture haul (stick-hauler. 1st truck I rode in was a 81' Freightliner/w 6v71Detroit and some newer
Saw the Brooklyn Bridge in a few shots. Been trying to sell it for years 😂! Great trip down memory lane for this NJ tri-state guy! Nope. Haven't been there recreationally, or in a truck in a couple years.
The traffic I see in this video is insane. I thought Detroit was bad. Traffic like this is the whole reason why I will never live in an area like that ever. Prob would make me want to buy an led sign with preprogramed profanities lol :)
Amazing video Steve, you been patient in the traffic, but yeah better that way. Amazing camera footage brother, variations sounds, everything, You nailed!
In another video I mention about putting chrome wheels on Orwell , I was thinking that if you care about Orwell that much you would want him to look real nice running down the road. I learned to drive a cab over and drove one for many years.
I haven't been on the BQE and Gowanus in over twenty years, some changes but some things are just the same. Usually, that route was a bumper-to-bumper crawl from the Kosciusko to after 65th St? Thinking about it, I can't say I miss it, or long island for that matter. I always feel like I need to get off long island, I have no idea why.
Those tires you mentioned are a major Korean tire manufacturer. They are pretty good everyday drivers for cars. I believe they have a tire manufacturing plant in Clarksville, TN (one of the Korean tire manufacturers is there).
Calling I-495 an Expressway is a LIE! First time I've seen the roadway of the new Kosciuszko Bridge. It was built after I came off the road. BQE the usual. I've been up and down it in 4 wheelers since I got my license at 16. Yes I know your supposed to be 18 to drive in the city, but no one ever stopped me in NY except for the Police Chief out in Quogue. He knew how old I was and reminded me I wasn't supposed to drive in NYC were my dad and I had just driven out from. I asked did he see me driving in Manhattan? He laughed and just sent me on my way. Happy he wasn't dealing with another dui. Going down the BQE brings back a lot of memories.
Been watching your videos since I stumbled on to the first I saw. Recently got laid off auto worker. Thinking of switching to driving truck. Most places want minimum OTR time. What's a day like in the truck? How often do stop for bathroom etc.. do drivers get tired during normal driving or just when they've been up for most of their 10 hours or so. Trying to decide if it's right fit for me before I try myself and be stuck in a contract. Do companies or drivers allow ride alongs like a job shadowing see what is really like. Appreciate any advice or experiences from others.. thanks
Been on those roads many a time (in the past). They are a$$hole driver magnets; driving on shoulders, darting in and out, no/partial lights at night, and last minute exit takers.
Thanks for the New York ride along. I've never been in that area & have no desire to visit. Some of those folks were driving like they were suicidal. I would have dumped half my air pressure through the horns even though I know it really wouldn't help.
Hey Steve...love the videos you do. But I can't help but notice that it looks like the left stack is taller than the right one. Every time you video from the back....I swear it looks like the left is taller.....
Hey man, I’m new to the channel and I’ve been loving the quality of your videos. Is there a video where you talk about how you make them and what equipment you use?
Steve, thank you for shooting this video. It made me realize that I wasn't missing anything at all by not running up there anymore.
Yeh I am almost embarrassed to say I live up in NYC. What a pit to drive through. BQE what a joke.
@@ThumperKJFK that's fine it will be our little secret.
The Man! The Myth! The Legend!
Haha that cabover at the truck stop doing the "If I'm up, you're up!" exit.
Orwell just keeps kicking!!!
That route, at that time of day, should be a driving test route for heavy trucks 🚚 😢. Nicely done Steve, no Sat Nav can keep up with that pace.
Great video, brilliant audio, ASMR top shelf.
Thanks for sharing
Good Lord, I thought drivers in Los Angeles were bad, this is a whole new level
Chicago drivers are just as bad as New Yorkers.
This is everyday driving here, hell sometimes I do it myself just to get back at half the idiots driving around mindlessly.
Going through the city like the Bronx is worse than this.
We have ore one New York here in Europe it’s called Parijs it’s all the same bad driver and no patience
18WheelsRollin’s footage of Orwell is great! WOWza!
I'd end up with PTSD driving thru that jungle everyday. One has to have a lot of situational awareness or you're screwed. Nice you have some new buddies - we all need them. Be safe!
DAMN!!! Nice job of driving on LIE. Two thumbs up to a real trucker with lots of patience. Stay safe Steve!
I used to run Lancaster PA to Brentwood Long Island daily... I loathe NY traffic!!!
Patients is the only way to roll through there. I moved off the island 13 years ago, thanks for the flash backs 😜
Those NYC videos are insane! Great camera shots and a cool truck! Thanks!
Can not believe you look so at ease driving in N.Y. traffic. You are a good example for any one wanting to drive truck. Great video.
It's amazing how much people driving changes once you hit New York. It's like a light switch you go from safe driving Then you're driving go's right out the window
🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for the tag Steve! Appreciate you man see you around! 🫡💪🏻
While it may be a stressful drive, the footage is gorgeous. So much more to look at than open, wide freeways!
Steve, all I can say, you're a good driver.
The way Orwell flies in and out of heavy city traffic makes me so nervous and I'm sitting in my easy chair!
Gr8 Vid & SAFE TRAVELS
I totally don’t miss my days driving. Down the LIE and the BQE. Traffic honestly looked kinda normal by the Brooklyn bridge… and the Verrazano bridge didn’t seem to busy which was a plus. Nice close up of Fort Wadsworth, some very cool gun emplacements there.

Remember the old Kosciusko Bridge? With the green steel overhead super structure? Aaaah, memories!
Orwell was sounding sweet rolling thru the gears!
Thank you Steve for sharing your travels/adventures with us
That some crazy traffic !! It made my blood pressure high just watching it ! Your a good driver !!
Wow! Excellent driving
NYC thanks for the street signs and road views.. retired i drove there and am excited to see it still manageable..
By you!
22:02 them Jakes sounds Good🎶🚛💨
Your run thru traffic can only be described like this. Smooth like Elvis Presley, funky as James Brown. Badass like Waylon Jennings 💪👍
Damn....You were in my back yard. Sorry you had to endure our drivers and traffic. I live it every day. Not driving a big rig but I'm on the road all day.
Brought up a lot of memories the traffic never lets up😊
Seein old Orwell blow some coal when it starts out especially in a morning, seeing any old mechanical beast roll some coal is mmmmm mmmm 🤘🏼🤘🏼😀😀😎😎
Wow Steve i give you your propes. I don't miss driving up there
That oh shit moment when you see that Cabover just ripping it out the parking lot. God damn, this made Steve his day end nicely.
😅I like your videos and commentary but really enjoy you different camera positions. Gives viewers a great since of good drivers handling their rigs. Keep them coming. THANKS Steve rhome tx.
New York will never change traffic wise
Yeah, it will. It'll get worse.
Nice views from the Narrows. Fort McHenry
Some nice city driving, many years ago I drove an armored truck in 4 boroughs as well as Long Island.
Hey Steve, another fine day in NYC, eh? When I heard the horns honking it brought back memories of the NY salute. Good video, great job keeping your cool and the blood pressure down 👍 Safe travels, my friend!
That may be the best trucking video ever! Great views of New York. Thanks.
Good eye young man. I learned along time ago you just have to get crazy with the rest of them. I don’t miss that one bit never lost anything over there don’t care to go back 👍✌️

M'a'a'n heavy traffic. I've rode some of those roads east West coast in a furniture haul (stick-hauler. 1st truck I rode in was a 81' Freightliner/w 6v71Detroit and some newer
I have to admit I'm kind of behind on your videos, but I've gotta say, your editing skills are getting better and better.
Saw the Brooklyn Bridge in a few shots. Been trying to sell it for years 😂! Great trip down memory lane for this NJ tri-state guy! Nope. Haven't been there recreationally, or in a truck in a couple years.
Quite a collection of ding-a-lings and yo-yos. And that blue car at 7:40 who I think had to pull over for a breakdown.
Great video Steve , A bit of everything cheers mate .
I love the cabovers, nice vid again.
Ending with, Family commeradity. 👍👍
Keep on Trucking Steve
Had to chuckle with you Steve when that K-dub hit the jakes on the way out.
It takes a lot of patience to deal with that kind of traffic lol.
Crossing the Verrazano into Staten Island where I’m from crazy view nice video

Now that was a good looking cabover.
Steve, sumitomo tires, r good tires. Japanese made. They've been in business for along time big conglomerate🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
You’re earning your money, right there.

In another video I mention about putting chrome wheels on Orwell , I was thinking that if you care about Orwell that much you would want him to look real nice running down the road. I learned to drive a cab over and drove one for many years.
Driving Like a Pizano coming home from work on the Freeway! Nice moves! Ole Flinstone reference.
good to see my old home. Glad I do not live there anymore though 😀
Man I don’t miss that kind of traffic.👍👍
Hey Steve....Sumitomo tire is part of Dunlop...actually owns Dunlop and it's made in Buffalo NY!!
Sumitomo, Toyo, and Yokohama are all high quality tire manufacturers. The Japanese do not skimp or cut corners.
Just love watching the black smoke roll 10/4😅
Hard to keep your cool in that circus. Good job Steve.

Steve, Man you got balls the size of Texas to drive in that traffic.
I sure don't miss driving in the rotten big apple..Never changes I called it controlled chaos. Be safe out there.
That trip out off long island, you experienced a hole video of dashcam lessons on utube. Wow, some intidled people.
Love it you weaving through traffic and seeing you take no shit 😂
Your a pro driver I'm glad I live in the country
Steve be moving through the city lmao. We all been there brotha

You should be able to find someone to ride along with for a shorter run.
REMINDS ME OF PORTLAND, OREGON ON OLD I-5
Been on those roads many a time (in the past). They are a$$hole driver magnets; driving on shoulders, darting in and out, no/partial lights at night, and last minute exit takers.
sumitomo, bought dunlop , made truck tires in buffalo, newyork
That was close !
Great video Steve
