Lyrics:
I'm sick, demented
I came to represent it
I rose from the grave
I had a close shave
The cops tried to lock me down
'cause the glock they found
was stolen
that's how I'm rollin'
Calvin Klein's no friend of mine
So I don't like Marky
or the monarchy
don't start me up like a rolling stone
or I'll leave ya sulkin like Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone
So get a grip like Steven Tyler
I used to trip with the Divine Styler
back in the days there were Irish ways
and Irish laws, stand up for the cause
(Hook x4)
When it's time to rock a funky joint
I'm on point
When it's time to rock a funky jam
I'm the man
(Danny Boy)
Well it's the D to the A, double N Y BO
why, cause I rock s*** like I run it in you
It's a black day, avenge quick run get the vest ?
I'm down with the Hill cause I still got the skill
To turn the party out
It's all about the skyscraper
Your girl caught the vapors
so I might videotape her
I make a lot of papers so I don't have to scrape the
bottom of the barrel
I rock fly apparel
Now I could pull your car
starting up the Harley David - son
I got the g**, so the drama, you could save it
(Madbum)
Well it's the mad bum rushin'
funky with percussion
from LA to Flushing
I get your girlie blushin'
I'll cutcha like a butcher,
Well it ain't Joe the writer
the old rock a loop cause I'm super like Schneider
(Hook x4)
I'm ill, retarded
so don't get me started
I might lose my cool
ya lose if we do
cause I can stomp a hole in the soul of a monk
with the rhymes in my head and the beats in my trunk
I got skill kid
and I run the mill kid
for all its worth, I'm gettin mines on Earth
so step to the next head
or like Sadat X said
'He's gone and that's how it flows to be
Don't stand so close to me!'
(Hook x4)

I'm going through all these House of Pain "oldies", it's crazy how well these jams aged. Like a fine wine. Total Respect. 🙏
The real hip hop
Im just in the middle of doing the same thing! Its great
I came here to say literally the opposite. The lyrics are cheesy as fuck and, for the most part, make no sense, whatsoever. I loved them back in the day but this is one trip down memory lane that I'm gonna stop right now.
@@garethmaybury5218 Why did you come here for a negative comment?
@@garethmaybury5218 man, hip hop it s that, don you prefer nowadays trappers???
House of Pain is definitely in my top 5 all time of Hip Hop groups.
Still on point in 2023.
Yeah.
I got this record In 94 or 95
Holy shit, this album is truly underrated and overlooked, I can‘t believe it. House of Pain forever💪🏻!!!

How was this not a bigger hit??? The production is so good.
brah they were plenty big. this stuff was all over the radio and tv back in the day
This second record never “blew up” like the first album (which had “Jump Around” on it). But, “Same as it Ever Was” is GREAT !! There are upright bass samples across that entire record and that ties the thing-the whole album- together. All the tracks share some unifying elements 🎼
I had the CD recorded on tape from a classmate on middle school. It was one of my fav cassettes I listened to during my skateboarding days. But I remember Wu Tang's 36 Chambers was released around the same time. Might be that album got so much attention that HoP's one got pushed back a bit.
@@cornpit77 Same, I was in 6th grade in 94 and one of the few female "skater chicks" in my school and House of pain Same as it ever was and Wutangs 36 chamber were the 2 albums i had mixed together on a blank tape on my Walkman. Great times!
Underrated band
2023 AQUI OUVINDO,DO RIO DE JANEIRO,🇧🇷✌.
2023, still on point, as it was in '94! Nothing beats that oldskool sound! Funky as hell.
I ran to the record store to buy this CD when it dropped IN ICELAND!! Still loving it!! What a Classic!!
In Iceland in Poland and in many other countries.
Danny Boy is so cool here 🔥
still on point 2023 💚✌
Everlast, is soooooo underrated as a rapper. makes me mad. Everyone give search his props.
Agree everlast is more realer and rugged
@@alfredcarpenter3877 His hip hop music is dope as fuck but most of his acoustic is cringey as fuck.
@@alfredcarpenter3877 how did he sound on the first album of House of Pain
I don’t mind the band it’s just that they got the same beat for every song
Hell yeah 😁 this is the guy
House of Pain will always be legends in hip-hop history. Hip hop gave us so much during the golden age I was buying RECORDS LEFT AND RIGHT!
For Real!!!
Yep...the fuck the trappstar
2023 still on point.
I came to HoP in reverse, mainly via Everlast's "Whitey Ford Sings the Blues". These guys rule.
Back in the day I had a pager and a House of Pain cassette rattling the windows of my Ford Escort.
that video was better than i ever expected 🍀🍻❤🔥🧨
Real deal, that bass!
2024 I’m still on point and jumping around
THESE FUCKIN HOUSE OF PAIN BEATS ARE ALWAYS LEGENDARY. THE EPOTIME OF 90S BUMPS

Battle music.
Mac daddy Everlast. When I was 14 in "93" he was just the coolest, toughest , white dude I'd ever seen!
SUCH AN UNDERPLAYED TRACK.😭
BIG BIG TUNE.😀 WHO'S STILL PUMPIN THIS BOOMBASTIC TUNE. ? 2021
Best rap everr. Miss the 90s
Those jazz beats go hard in this song.
seriously one of the dopest beats ever lol
That bass is great
.....Should of got more love back in the day. Another hidden gem.
If you are not familiar with Everlast's or Whitey Ford's (whichever name you want to call him) modern stuff, check it out. Check out "The Culling" from 2018 and perhaps "Long At All" from 2011 and see if they grab you, and if so, start digging into the modern albums and you'll find several gems. Hard to believe he can still create this stuff. Oh, also Black Jesus (2002) I think, a "hard" song, it's a bit old but not really old like House of Pain stuff.
He's still producing top shelf music. Once middle age and older, very few musicians can make the quality they could in their youth -- he's a rare fish.
.
@@lanier1000 Warporn industries was easily his best hip hop work since HOP. Most of his acoustic stuff is cringey as fuck, you get the odd song such as smoking and drinking or I get by but for the most part it's just elevator music to me. Still a dope as fuck MC though.
2023 Still on Point,,
DJ Lethal can spit some ish
STILL LISTENING TOO all the time, this is when RAP was actually good.. I keep all my music listening to the 90's
David Wright 💯

Mad respect if u like this song
2023 still on point
2023 STILL ON POINT BOYS
Dj Lethal really produced some crazy shit
I think "On Point" and "Who's the man" were under appreciated or overlooked because it's when hip hop was starting to shift energy wise. More so for "On point". Jump Around. and Shamrock and Shennanigans just flow. On point flows but it's a transitional like most rap in 94, a different style before 95 when it shifts completely. So it got lost in transition. Everlast voice is really edgy in this. Danny boy flows good, I like Lethals moment. Was always fan of this song.
@@PesterFester1966 It does. But Fine Malt Lyrics was still great.
Dont forget back from the dead
I completely agree. 88 was the end of track suits and ropes. 89-90 was a transitional time 91-93 was huge for Hip Hop. 94 had groups that still had that 92/93 sound then 95 was a new era completely. Timbs, Polo/Hilfiger, gold fronts etc... I understand exactly what u sayn👊🏽
@@cesarbaca I had to sit and think but I see exactly what you guys are saying about the transition. 95 just took on a whole direction of it's own with albums from all over. You had Goodie Mob coming out of the South, Mobb Deep Infamous, Gza Liquid Swordz, Raekwon Cuban Linx, Pac coming late in the year I believe with All Eyez (That or early 96) and so on. The sound shift at the time was just huge, good catch.
c´mon, On Point wasnt under appreciated or even overlooked^^ I remember they played it right from the start back then, next to Lords Of The Underground and Cypress Hill tracks. The mid 90s rap parties and rap shows were defenitely the best!
2023 still on Point
Who's still banging with HOP in 2020?
Still banging this shit 2021!!!
They was like the Boondocks Saints before the Boondocks Saints.
Not put
like Boondock Pains

When old school rap was actually good!!!
When it's time to rock a funky joint I'm on point when it's time to rock a funky jam I'm the man👊
Everlast is one of my 10 Rap/MC Allstars. House of Pain is sick, i love the uncommercial Realness !!!
45 years old and still this tune makes me wanta go out and Head bang! ☘️✊🍺🍺🍺🎶🎼 From Connamara ☘️✊🍺
I still one of my favorite bands of all time! I think this came out in '93.
I was seeing this girl that was about 14 years younger than me and she saw this in 50 cent on my UA-cam music list and she gave me the weirdest look. Like she was shocked that I knew who they even were. I said girl I've been listening to this stuff longer than you've been alive. Nice girl just too much of an age difference.
Such an amazing album. HOP!
Mate, this is a serious album. The most tracks have DOPE and intelligent jazz samples (all of kind: drums, ghost snares, sax, bass, pianos, etc). GENIUS
Tommy Boy since day one you was class 👊
you i really had a soft spot for all 3 albums and I'd rank em in their release date order although 1 and 2 were neck and neck - the unreleased stuff was amazing too but i wonder why it never came out
This whole album was fire.
