- In this video, Amelia reviews the latest 2021 Ford Fiesta ST. The little pocket rocket from Ford packs the highest level of kit ever, but that is just one of its advantages.
The latest Fiest is now one of the last non-SUV or UTE models from Ford in a time when Ford is axing most of the non SUV models in its line up.
The Fiesta ST engine has only three cylinders. It’s a 1.5 EcoBoost with both direct and port injection and a turbocharger and it produces 147 kW and 290 Nm of torque - more than enough for loads of fun in a car of this size. This Ford Hot Hatch comes only with a manual transmission and it officially consumes 6.3 L per 100 km.
Amelia compares it to the Polo GTI again. While Volkswagen sets benchmarks when it comes to more or less affordable hot hatches, the Fiesta ST has one big advantage - it has just one trim level. Let us know in the comments what you think is the best Hot Hatch available in Australia.

Bought one of these in white a couple of months ago. I must say it has been an amazing car to drive so far. Love the power from just a 3 pot engine, it surprises me every time which puts a huge smile on my face with out fail!
Trying to think of any faults.....I just can't. If you want grip and rally car kind of handling....buy one, you will not be disappointed.

I have a 2016 fiesta st with a tune making 225hp and 280pound ft torque the car is really quick and surprises many unsuspecting cars.
I’ve driven loads of hot hatches and none of them are as fun as the ST. This new one is even better than the mk7 which was already a classic. The engine sounds awesome too 👍

I currently drive the MK7 and still love it, had mine for 5 yrs and it's still alot of fun to drive. Keen to have a drive of the MK8 once it becomes available at my local dealer in QLD hopefully in December 2020.
On the other hand i'm also keen to test drive the I20N next year , looks and sounds great and the interior is really nice too.

good review, door protectors been available on Ford's for a long time, had them for quite a few Focus's over the years, pity always an option and not std. Watch for the Fiesta ST engine to appear in the new Puma ST soon. A Mountune update/remap makes a good difference on all ST's.

That was a great review, in my opinion, I don't mind the 5 doors, I like practicality and I also LOVE manual cars. Truth be told, all cars i've owned to this point in time is manual. I've been following Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus reviews and I love the new versions of them. The long throws in the manual and sharp reminds me of my recently owned Suzuki Swift and I loved it. If this car was available in my country and I had a cash, Definitely would buy it outright.

I have a new white Fiesta St Mk 8. Great handling on corners, travels high speed very well on smooth roads. Only issue is high speed on Australian bumpy roads the car is a bit sketchy as the suspension is not supple enough and it can get a little scary at very high speeds.
Comment about why a 3 cylinder, many reasons, 3 cylinder makes more torque than comparative sized 4 cylinder, makes a nice warble note that is distinctive, and cheaper to build as only 3 pistons and only 12 valves.
Engine is a little underpowered, chassis could do with 260 hp instead of 200hp- but then my other car is a 540 hp manual sedan. Will have to wait for warranty to run out and get a Revo tune with bigger intercooler.
All up a GREAT car, very integrated the way a Porsche is integrated- ie very balanced over finessed engineering. Well done Ford Germany and Europe.
Why would you want heated seats and steering wheel in 40c Australia? Surely cooling would be more important?
what factory color is that fiesta? I cant find that nardo grey on the oz website

I’m happy it’s only manual only because I hate the fact that all cars are going auto, manual is so much better and should never disappear

The 3 cylinder is about the same size as the old 4 cylinder. Ford found that cylinder sizes of about .5 liter was the most efficient size which is why they switched it to a 3 cylinder. 3 cylinders tend to sound cooler than 4 cylinders as well.
