2232 years of Rome's physical presence if you count the fall of the Despostate of Epirus in 1479, and even after that Rome lives on in Western Civilisation and in spirit. Absolutely legendary.
The last time we saw a "Roman army" was actually in world war II by the Germans. Each of the SS divisions had their own special "swastika standard" with a golden reich eagle with its wings in flight.

There'd be no lombard invasion of italy as italy isnt devastated by years of war. Belisaurius also becomes western roman emperor like the ostrogoths wanted him to. The persians and romans will still not war fully due to the justinian plague. By the time of Heraclius who i hope restores the principate the borders will look like this Western rome has all territories except northern gallia and brittania. And eastern rome has all territories. Heraclius will also beat the sassanids more decisively and push them out of mesopotamia. Arabs still destroy persia and rome but the arabs only manage to take mesopotamia,levant and sinai peninsula and are stopped at egypt and anatolia. Eventually levant and egypt would be retake and maybe even northern bits of mesopotamia. Rome endures. The only problems for rome now are the franks and persians. I could see a new western emperor or a full emperor destroying the franks and pushing them beyond the rhine. thus restoring everything except brittania but who cares about brits.

One of the pretty admirable things abt rome is that it was one of the few countries (if not the only) that didnt mistreat Greece, i mean yeah they did some bad shit but they also brought a period of peace and prosperity, plus they also appreciated greek civilization to the point of mixing it w their own (greek was almost necessary for any educated roman)
