    Nice fix. I am glad you were able to save it from the dump!👏
    What a drag to have to climb the roof just to change the dang batteries.
    It needs a small solar panel and maybe a 3.7 V lithium rechargeable cell, perhaps harvested from a solar light?

      Hopefully these bearings will last another season or two. You are right. Solar panels would work better, i’m not sure about lipo batteries though in a -20_F to +110F environment.

      @@enginord No simple solution, I'm afraid. Our solar lights & automotive batteries take a beating here in the SW desert. CCA (cold cranking amps) are not much of a factor here!
      Painting the housing/ battery box with white elastomeric roof coating may help.
