I just restored my 98 metro new almost everything 4/wheel alignment, tires, tranny, cvs etc. I'm happier driving it today than when I bought it new.I honestly wouldnt take less than what I paid for it new. I have another 94 that I would like to supercharge and modify I really appreciate the indepth coverage. Not enough info around on mods. Thank you.
Im swapping to a carb and HEI to cure a P0340 that's been plaguing me and the previous owner. I see in the FSM that the ECU controls the fuel pump, cooling fan, and Main relay. Ill have to get creative, or leave the ECU in place for some things.
I may have missed the explanation here, but i’m converting a 1994 metro to run completely without the ecm since it came free with electrical issues, how did you wire the HEI module with the stock coil in there? Just some more detail would be awesome btw love this series and planning on possibly following your process on some other stuff if i decide to keep the metro around

The negative from the HEI goes to the negative on the coil and the 12v comes from a separate source from the car harness separate from the ecm
@@HotRodGuyGarage Alright thank you, the carb comes in the mail tomorrow and all that's left is to make the adapter and mount it all in the car
@@maximumbirdage8440 no problem, I'm pretty sure I converted the pinning positions if you have any issues let me know.
Do you have a factory tachometer, and were you able to make it work?
A factory tach will work
@@HotRodGuyGarage OK, just find the signal wire in the harness and connect to neg side of coil/HEI module? Signal originally comes from the ECU?
@@asandberg6 the factory tach is a plug and play no additional wiring needed
