My dad always says a house is never "finished", because our needs and preferences change over time, so we might change our house to acomodate that as well :)
That is SO true - because our lives are always in flux. We did extensive renos to our post war home over a long period of time (my story is above) but now the kids have left - it has structural probs - but we r now remodeling AGAIN - due to covid WFH. We dont officially had an office - we had an office spot for a small desk and lap top - but not printer - wifi station - wifi repeaters thru the house blah blah...and now its IT based TV's?? WTH. SO modern life is biting us now like it did for the Edwardians with a VIctorian home needing to install telephones and gas and electricity!
@@l.cindra1641 my family, we built our house like 6 years ago and we just started getting landscaping done because we can finally afford it. We bought like 6 trees. We only got trees though lol. The trees also might be dying but we can’t tell because it’s autumn now.

I’d love to see another collab with Molly Burke about renos! She’s also renovating a home, and I think it would be really interesting to see you both sharing your perspectives on what it takes to make a house accessible for different people 😊
Ladies, the fact that your relationship not only weathered this remodel but did so with humor is a true testament to your love. 😂 The house is gorgeous! I would never leave the kitchen. …and the windows, stunning! Congratulations!!!
Not only just a remodel, but a covid remodel whilst trying for and carrying Roo to term…their marriage is rock solid to weather all of this happening at once
I'm curious why you didn't choose a downstairs master bedroom that would be accessible by wheelchair. Or is there another room you temporarily sleep in as needed, when stairs don't get along with you? Actually, could you do a video about the accessibility features of your home and what, if anything, changes in how you use it when you are using feet vs crutches vs wheelchair?
I appreciate the Claudia appreciation shot while she was trying to pin the blackout curtain up 🤣 tricep and bicep goals EDIT: as a South Floridian, I can appreciate Claudia's passion for limestone. Much of the older buildings down in the Keys are built of limestone and they are basically indestructible AND beautiful.
THAT GARDEN 😭 OH MY GOODNESS THAT'S MY DREAM 🌿🌱🌳 the patio, the balcony, and the stairs look incredible! Claudia was right about the limestone. Very well done on your vision and design! I love you guys ❤
Hi Jessica! I got diagnosed with EDS yesterday! While I am not happy to have the syndrome, it’s great to finally know why my shoulders hurt and partially dislocate all the time. I’m really happy to know about it because of your videos, so thank you! 💖💖
This is exactly the sort of thing I'd love to do some day with an older home- really renovate/restore it to modern functionality while keeping that sense of timeliness. Not that I'm anywhere near financially able to buy a home yet, but someday haha ^^ The house looks lovely!
Your home is so lovely and light! The backyard, the crisp, clean cabinets 😍My husband I are finally getting to the point where we can start working on making our house “us”. We moved in at the end of fall, so we’re excited to start painting and cleaning up the yard!
Watching this video just made me so dang happy! I’ve just never seen lesbians living out normal (ish) lives and talking about simple things like patio tiles and banisters 😂. I’m glad you guys are here!!!
I’ve got to say I’m absolutely in love with your kitchen/dining space and the garden!🪴I’m absolutely envious! Also love Rupert’s walk-in wardrobe! Fantastic organisation, fingers crossed that outfit will fit him on his first birthday! 🌸🍃
I'm only 20, I'm years away from owning a house as my post-uni career will lead me to apartments in the city, but this video makes me want to get a house with a huge garden. You both look so happy! Congrats!
This whole video is just so adorable!! With Rupert’s tiny hand reaching for the camera, Walter and Tilly running around and Jessica and Claudia being lovely as always. You all made my whole week! (btw lovely house of course, looks like something out of a book!)
Looks beautiful Master Jessica! -Love that you kept up your sense of humor during construction . The two of you are able to get through anything with flying colors!
It’s beautiful! It looks like it should have always been that way. I loved the huge sunlight in the kitchen and the terrace. Claudia’s time was not wasted on those patio slabs and the balustrades are a wonderful touch, Jessica!
LOVE all of this! As a recent home-buyer myself I am so curious to see a breakdown of how much customizations like this would cost. It's so amazing how custom it all is!
Something I love about European homes, well any home that’s not American really, is that the tv is not the focal point! I think it really shows a lot about a family and the quality time they most likely spend together 💕
I love Claudia's favourite room! Your garden and terrace is stunning, relaxing and inviting. I love it! Claudia inspires my garden! Can't wait to see what she plants next.
I love your house so much!!! Also the entire Kellgren-Fozard Family is so beautiful and lovely, literally my dream! I just love how everything in the house flows together aesthetically and exudes calmness and an elegant homely feeling!
I'm with Claudia regarding seeds. Poppies are one of my favorite things to sow because you just dump some seeds in your hand and throw them in the general direction you want poppies to grow. 😂
So lovely seeing run down old houses getting some tlc and lovely creative people in them! This is so lovely to see, for you guys sake to enjoy your hard work and god going through all that amongst covid must have been hell with no quiet private place to retreat to! But it looks so beautiful now! Such a fun part of family home life, making a loving nest. Its also lovely to see, as I've had big dreams of building my own house, which has all been on hold since my spinal injuries, and it's nice to see other disabled people still able to make big dreams happen, while still resting and managing the fluctuations of health. I started watching you years ago, when you were talking more about budgeting and living on a low income as a disabled person, and using thrifty vintage creativity, and it's actually really lovely to see you thriving, and still living those values but in a more secure way now. I'm still at the stage where I don't know how my injuries and pain etc will pan out long term, so this is a nice reminder to stay hopeful, and even if I remain compromised from my original life plans, I will still be able to find a way to do some or all of my dreams maybe in a slightly different way. I want to do earthbuilding, which is ecological, cheap, and so pretty. But also takes a heap of manual labour, and organising work troupes.. So, we will see how that goes. In the meantime, thanks for sharing your family joy

Oh, the house looks so good! Congrats on getting so much done in a year, that's amazing. My favourite room is probably the kitchen, it's so open and light now, plus I love your green cupboards (I've got a very similar colour on my office walls, it's really soothing) and your butcher block countertops look fantastic. I'm with Claudia on being obsessed with gardening now, hope your plants are doing well despite the recent crummy weather!
I adore your house so much I can't decide which is my favorite! The terrace with the balustrade and even-colored limestone are perfection! And it's so meaningful to see a happy lesbian couple create a beautiful home together. It makes my heart happy. ❤️❤️❤️

I love the garden and terrace. It is so lovely, and will be wonderful for wee Rupert in his play area. I like how you combined the kitchen and dining room and then extended it. That makes the rooms much more usable. Cooking and then sitting at the table and watching the happenings in the garden. Relaxing there. Love Rupert's little table. Such a lovely home.

The house is beautiful! It's amazing how much different it looks now compared to when you first moved in! I think the kitchen is my favorite room, but the nursery is a close second. 😉 Speaking of which, I'm curious: when you have your next baby, will the nursery become their nursery? Or is that room going to be Rupert's bedroom? Thanks for the tour!

My favorite room is probably the dining room/kitchen or back patio. You guys have done a wonderful job on the design additions to your house, love to see the progress. Great video!
I’m loving the whole kitchen area. My mum always says that the kitchen is the heart of the house
I love watching people renovate their homes to become their dream house! Your home is absolutely beautiful!
