Winnipeg has always had a bad reputation as being less desirable than Toronto or Vancouver for as long as I can remember. My family emigrated to Winnipeg in the 1950’s from Germany and I am a first generation Canadian. I’m in my 60’s and lived all my life in Winnipeg. The city does have many advantages that you touched on for people emigrating to Canada. It is known to have a higher crime rate but if you are not living downtown or the “north end “ it is not much of a problem. Most of the suburbs are safe places to live. The weather is much colder than anyone who comes from a place where it never gets cold enough to freeze is used to. Winters are long but the coldest months would be January and February and you will have to deal with snow and ice for sure. The good news is our homes are warm and if you take care to dress in layers it makes going outside more comfortable. The weather is manageable and you do get use to it. I can’t guarantee everyone will be friendly to newcomers but there are many Winnipegers that were one time in there lives the newcomers so I think we are probably more tolerant than many other places.
Very helpful video.... 😊 nice interview, gives new POV about things 👍 cheers Ur friend took time to explain things really appreciate you both... thank you🤟
Politics id say is pretty probably better than Alberta and Saskatchewan, but lifestyle wise, Manitoba is a strange middle ground one. Its worse than Alberta, but better than Saskatchewan. I feel like there isnt Too much to do in Winnipeg, but there are genuinely nice people there.
Please when is Saskatchewan polytechnic opening for September 2024 intake , I learnt 1st October but when I tried...the option for Citizenship status....shows: none, Canadian citizen , Permanent Resident, Refugee and student visa... There is no option for international students,so that is mean the application is not open yet or I should choose one of the above listed....
