As an Indian, it will always baffle me how China became so exceedingly advanced, in quite a short of amount of time. Incredible! I understand the country has its issues with the government, but still, can't argue the government surely worked a heck lot in developing their nation. *Sigh* Hoping the same for India one day, definitely not in my lifetime though.
If you asked a Chinese person in the 70s when he would think china would have standards close to the west, he probably would say not in his lifetime either, probably the same in the 80s and early 90s, but then china accelerated... A lot has changed in the last 20 years.
Well, first of all, you need a government that plans for the next 20 years, instead of only limited sight of his/her own term. China has changed several leaders, but they are all following the series of "five-year plans" that plan beyond a certain leader's term.
Impossible. You have one life live that in a country you like instead of pinning your hopes on a lost cause. Once you are dead it doesn't matter whether your were an Indian or a citizen of any country
It’s a good country with nice people so far , just ignore the media lies and to be honest peoples ignorance and see for yourself because we are definitely visiting , just not sure which city
Your comments about the Taj Mahal - I was there for sunrise and thought it was absolutely beautiful. I wasn't really expecting much at all, but no photograph can do it justice. I do agree however that the city of Agra is an unspeakable dump. I haven't been to China, but it looks amazing. I knew China's economy was outstripping the West, but the bar it started from was set very low, and I honestly had no idea just how advanced it has become.
I was just checking for the next video and here it is. Nice way to start my Monday. Oh and I would never travel to India and it's easy to see why the Taj Mahal is the least favorite.
Taj Mahal is so overrated. It only made the list of "world wonders" cuz India was overly romanticized before the Internet was a thing. Now its true image is exposed to the world...
Ben something is fishy. Are you getting paid by China to promote there country and defame it's rival India . You do however have to hike away from the people like a good mile to get to the part that's authentic, where you are at the beginning was rebuilt in the 80s... we had to pee really bad, so we hiked as far as we could and once you find the REAL wall it's crumbled almost completely at some places, so much we were able to climb down and off to relieve ourselves 😂 What an adventure, I'd LOVE to go back... I still have my HILARIOUSLY crooked printed t-shirt from that base village that says "I Climbed the Great Wall" on it. Paid like 10 Kuai for it at the time too. 😂 ❤ From the USA!
The man in seat 61 suggests: Quick answer, London to Penzance by sleeper. From £125.40 one-way or £228.40 return in a single-bed sleeper all to yourself. From £114.90 one-way or £207.40 return per person for two people sharing a twin-bed sleeper. These are Super-Off-Peak fares + the cheapest possible sleeper supplement.
You are comparing 500KM trip London to Penzance of UK vs 2000km trip Chongqing to Beijing of China Looks to me China sleeper train is much cheaper as the distance is 4 times of UK , but the cost is lower. China does have 2-best sleeper but not very common.
@@xgguo3531 I am not doing the comparing, Ben did. My figures are a more accurate representation. I am not pretending that the distances are comparable (we don't have a comparable distance train). I agree - it looks like the Chinese sleeper is cheaper - but is it a comparable fare i.e. bought 2 weeks in advance? Same day? etc. It is never a simple comparison.
@@michaelatkinson7577 I see. Good to know the accurate ticket price of UK. China train ticket price is almost stable as my experience. May be more expensive in Spring Festivals.
Those little seats in the isle are a great idea. Jolly decent to eat outside the room. Gonna try Hk-Xiamen soon. They've really done well building such a network.
Most people don’t take the premium soft sleeper trains on ordinary trains, which cost more than high-speed trains and airplanes, but take longer to reach the destination.
I was expecting a bit more from a first class room on a train in China (maybe a jacuzzi would have been nice!) but as you say, compared to Britain......!! The bathroom area looked great. Glad you enjoyed the cheeky fist lol
The green train is the cheapest train in China. Generally, only the elderly or the poor will take it. Try not to buy a hard berth or a hard seat, because they will smoke at the train connection. I hope these uncivilized things will not bother you, but the high-speed rail is fine, because smoking is prohibited on the high-speed rail.
Someone already mentioned this, the two person-ONLY private cabin class does exist in China, though only a few select few train services even have them. This class is called “Premium Soft Sleeper”. A good example would be the K53 / K54 train direct service between Shenyang North Station and Beijing, and the train company markets the cabin class as “Mobile Hotel”. A Chinese UA-camr named “Amanoshrimp” recently reviewed it (though all commentary is in Chinese tho).
That's the one I took from Shenyang to Beijing that had a private toilet. The room was smaller than I expected, making it difficult to fit my suitcase.
This is an ancient train that only old and rural people use to save some extra bucks during their travel back to their hometown after their business in suburbs around 9pm in the evenings everyday, You should have taken the High Speed Sleeper Double Deckers that are way better and travel at 300KMPH!, assuming you are not broke which I know you aren't xD

The country and people has NO issues with the government because The Government is the People !
土地革命和阶级斗争
Impossible. You have one life live that in a country you like instead of pinning your hopes on a lost cause. Once you are dead it doesn't matter whether your were an Indian or a citizen of any country
Ben you would be lost without Kat, she is so helpful and omg so fast in typing. I love the vids Ben and stay safe you two.
随时欢迎你 到中国来玩 看看没见过的世界❤❤
welcome my country❤.Enjoy your trip❤
Thank You for sharing these videos of China would love to visit China one day
Loving these videos. Keep up the good work and stay safe bro!
China 🇨🇳 is truly amazing 👏 from italy 🇮🇹
Love it!!
Noise cancelling earbuds is the greatest gift to yourselves to drown out obnoxious snorers. Good luck and safe travels!
"gave me a cheeky fist....like a fist bump" hahaha

I just saw that part and still laughing. Tears in my eyes. Great start to my day. Thanks for the awesome videos man.
@@BackpackerBen Thanks for clarifying...
just to clear that one up 😬😂
@@BackpackerBenwho’s that girl Katerina ?
I like how Ben asking Kat literally everything! Idk how he travel without her earlier…
I live and work in Portugal about 6 months a year. And yes: they love to moan whenever they get the chance, but they are still a lovely bunch 🙂
One of your better videos - well paced and interesting.
First Ben sleep on a train in history. 😂
After 7 years of sleeper trains it finally happened
Had a shitty day, got into the train for heading home… and Ben an Kath put a smile on my face! ❤
Best content you’ve done , so much so myself and wife flying London to Shanghai then onto Seoul back to London
Enjoy your trip in China! A translation app will help you big time.

Finally 🎉
I was just checking for the next video and here it is. Nice way to start my Monday. Oh and I would never travel to India and it's easy to see why the Taj Mahal is the least favorite.
Please do travel this way as well,
ua-cam.com/video/aF_p1omXeok/v-deo.htmlsi=WKOgGoUHMje6upM2
Taj Mahal is so overrated. It only made the list of "world wonders" cuz India was overly romanticized before the Internet was a thing. Now its true image is exposed to the world...
Ben we need a compilation of all the horrible snores U met during you travel. I will never forget that Vietnamese on LOL
That’ll be an hour long video. Met some monsters in my time
Ben something is fishy. Are you getting paid by China to promote there country and defame it's rival India .
By seeing your video of India I was surprised about the fact you have literally pointed all things of India as Negative.
The idea that everything is bad in India is kinda gross.
Why can you just defame a country just for views and money mate ?
@@BackpackerBen Are you sure you don't snore?
@@BackpackerBenwhy don’t you carry earplugs?
@@AB_123_AB You need to ask Kat.😂 But anyway, snoring people hate people snoring.😂
Ben took off the training wheels and ditched Bald for Kat and its working !!!! these two are settling into their own and subscriptions going UP, luxury trains, LIFE IS GOOOD hard work pays off Let's Goooo !!
You and bald deciding to do separate videos is pretty great. Think you guys operate differently. Nice to see
Take a trip to Lijiang, that's where I go for a month's vacation every year.
Thank You Ben & Kat Great to see you two traveling together 🙂💙👍a good idea would be to carry some ear plugs with you when you travel🙂💙👍Those Steps are some steep.🙂🙃
Hi BOSS I'M JAMI BARBER 💈 💈
Such good timing, just finished your latest video and this popped up 😂
Ohhhh man you just made my day I rode the cable car and the toboggans with my friend who was fluent speaking back in 2005!! I had a BLAST!!! You do however have to hike away from the people like a good mile to get to the part that's authentic, where you are at the beginning was rebuilt in the 80s... we had to pee really bad, so we hiked as far as we could and once you find the REAL wall it's crumbled almost completely at some places, so much we were able to climb down and off to relieve ourselves 😂
What an adventure, I'd LOVE to go back... I still have my HILARIOUSLY crooked printed t-shirt from that base village that says "I Climbed the Great Wall" on it. Paid like 10 Kuai for it at the time too. 😂 ❤ From the USA!
'A cheeky fist' - fist bump....
'Backpacker' Ben nearly took on a (w)hole new meaning....
genius hahaha
First you declare your on the bottom…and later a cheeky fisting….is there something you want to tell us Ben?
Great video, as always. That slide was insane. Great to see Catarina. She just a joy. When are guys going to get hitched? 😊 stay safe guys.
He's a helpful guy that man
You are comparing 500KM trip London to Penzance of UK vs 2000km trip Chongqing to Beijing of China
Looks to me China sleeper train is much cheaper as the distance is 4 times of UK , but the cost is lower.
@@michaelatkinson7577 the price is fixed no matter when you book the train. I think the train Ben took didn't change the price for several years.
Those little seats in the isle are a great idea. Jolly decent to eat outside the room. Gonna try Hk-Xiamen soon. They've really done well building such a network.
Love the un repaired areas of the Great Wall, also the forbidden city is a must. 😊
Cheeky fist 👊🏻 hahaha, great video mate
Ben disappointed no nookie on the train =D love what you do guys! I need to find my Kat!
Cat in that panda bear headband is soooooooo cute!🤣👍🏻✌🏻🤙🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🥰
It's 2100km from Chongqing to Beijing, the cost is only 100 pounds for soft sleeper train. it's nice price. lol
Most people don’t take the premium soft sleeper trains on ordinary trains, which cost more than high-speed trains and airplanes, but take longer to reach the destination.
但是,他不是使用的人民币思维
Great picture of Kat in front of Crist Redeemer. Radiant smile! Thanks for sharing.
20:35 Ben casually dropping his fav film 🎥
I was expecting a bit more from a first class room on a train in China (maybe a jacuzzi would have been nice!) but as you say, compared to Britain......!! The bathroom area looked great. Glad you enjoyed the cheeky fist lol
Why on earth did you eat in the middle of the corridor? There was a bloody dining wagon!
Just my thinking , sur ! Too much India, sur ?
Some of the night trains don't have dinning cart. I ran into the same situation on the one from Shenzhen to Beijing.
Yes there is dining wagon on the train of China.
Yes, the dining wagon is usually at the front of the train, or she can eat at the table in the cabin.
显然餐车上的座位都被人霸占了,即使他们不吃饭
bro, that train is cleaner than my future. Really admire China and its people for this development and maintaining hygiene and civic sense.
Chinese people is always friendly and a little shy
I've taken a first-class seat once, from Shanghai to Chengdu, where we bought a private compartment for four of us, and the experience was quite good.
你特么是有多富? 中国铁路是国家基础设施,服务所有人 不是服务特定人群
你们坐的不是头等舱,真正的头等舱在高铁列车里票价大概需要400美元,而且比飞机的头等舱还要高级!在车站也有单独的vip候车间
Friendly tip, download language packs for google translate beforehand so you don't have to worry about connection issues etc.
This is an ancient train that only old and rural people use to save some extra bucks during their travel back to their hometown after their business in suburbs around 9pm in the evenings everyday,
You should have taken the High Speed Sleeper Double Deckers that are way better and travel at 300KMPH!, assuming you are not broke which I know you aren't xD
How much it cost?
你是只看封面,没看视频吧?他坐的不就是高铁动卧吗?
HSR sleeper train would be super comfy but ain't much for content. It would be super boring indeed, especially compared to those ben and kat took in certain other countries.
现在复兴号也变ancient train 了吗?
