I love spending a Sunday morning with my namesake, Christine and slow stitching together. I can't wait to get started on my own project featuring butterflies and other flying things.
I’m still marvelling at how you knew me so well! Keep an eye out for a little video sharing a handmade butterfly from a doily and your gorgeous gift. Still pondering how I can thank you my friend xx
Oh.!!! Christine, this is beautiful. I love the embroidery butterfly. The old patterns were so lovely. I forgot to mention but my Wild Flower Field on my Roxy page was made from the fabrics you sent me. I love them. Some evenings I just go through the fabrics and feel the love. You are so kind. Great page. Great video❤
@@createandcraftwithchristine it's going slow but I am seeing progress almost daily. My biggest accomplishment today was I was able to take 3 steps without the walker for support🤣😂 but, hey, I'll take it as a win. I hope you have a less busy weekend and have plenty of time to unwind! TFS 😃
oooh that is a beautiful linen piece you're starting with and I love the quiote, I've never heard it before. Lovely to hear Travis pattering around in the background :) Ah Christine you have such a flair for putting these kinds of projects together and using all the beautiful vintage finds, this is going to be really gorgeous, thanks for the inspiration. ps I'm enjoying your company in my craft room, stitching as I watch you, but it's a secret project at the moment so I can't tell you :)
Hi Christine, at present I am working away on my ‘bugs’. Thinking to myself how lovely your masterpiece is working out, lovely colours n techniques. My field notes are based on Australian notes, so while you’re working and exploring your butterfly, I’m sitting here making (trying) to make a cicada 😮 just to be different ☺️🌻
I love the way that you ground the compositions by using similar tones and forms. It really does add to the feeling of serenity and balance in your creations. They always give such a vivacious air. I love that Suffolk puff jar too. A whole new jar of candies! They sort of remind me of some of the traditional Japanese sweets in their shape and the pastel shades used. The eppiflex templates look really useful. I hope they start selling them here in the Uk soon. The only thing I’ve found of that type here are disposable card templates, which isn’t particularly eco friendly. I used to make templates from glossy magazine pages too, but that is a huge faff.
That is a great quote about butterflies. How lucky you were to find it. Heinlein was a bit of a misogynist, but as a huge sci-fi fan of many decades, I must say I've read a lot of his. BTW, I can't find a tutorial on a DIY puff maker - do you have one?
I’m sad to hear he was a misogynist. It’s a pity when someone can write beautiful phrases but their approach to life is not beautiful. If you don’t have a puff maker you can just put a running stitch around the outside of a circle of fabric by hand and it should work great. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
Thanks so much - unfortunately all my liberty fabrics have been from little scrap packs so I don’t have the names. But I’ll see if I can image search it for you and reply again if I can find it. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
