On seeing this piece of work at the NEC Birmingham I can testify that the video does not do it justice! The fabric, threads and the texture in the glorious autumn colours shimmer and shine. It's beautiful.
These videos are so inspiring. I absolutely love fungi and the amount of nature in your content. I’ve been an embroidery artist for a while but these videos are giving me so many ideas Thanks Rebecca! X
I absolutely love watching you work and then seeing the end result. I am already a fan of fungi, but you certainly brought their beauty and necessity to the forefront. Thank you for sharing another amazing work of art!
Absolutely stunning panel! I got 99% in school cert biology when I was 15 and biology has been a lifelong love. I am a big fan of fungi and do have many different kinds in my garden including some which contain psilocybin but I don't partake...hush , hush. Occasionly, in the Spring and Autumn I get edible mushrooms in my lawn. I am very interested in the book from Kew Gardens. Arohanui from me in Aotearoa New Zealand ❤
Thanks so much. I love my garden fungi too - I can't imagine anyone not being thoroughly delighted with a crop of colourful mushrooms springing up! I sometimes wish I had pursued science more, but finding out things as an adult is fun too. Every day is a school day!
Lovely panel, the colours are so vibrant. The curly wool is from sheep which I think is a Leicester. It is used in wet and dry felting to create texture.
The finished panel looks fabulous. I love fungi, so you have given me lots of lovely ideas to try. Can I just say that I did your fabric manipulation coral reef, a few months ago. I loved it, as did my granddaughter, who now has a larger version in a box frame 😍
Oh wow! That's really made my day. I'm delighted that you gave it a try and had some fun. It's the reason I make videos. Thanks for watching and joining in. 🤗
Hello, I finished my version today. It has been such fun! You are a good teacher and your videoing is superb. I am really pleased with my finished piece. Thank you!
Oh wow it’s amazing, I just love it. I am hoping you will be doing another series next year because I found you too late for this year, but I will be doing this mushroom one because it’s stunning and your tuition is so clear and easy to follow. BTW they are called locks ❤
This is such an inspiration! What a lovely piece! The bits of curly soft wool are called roving(s). I use them in beading/felting/embroidery projects :)
Hi, I’ve just found this video and you’ve hooked me in! I’ve subscribed and looking forward to browsing your older videos. I love what you’ve created with these mushrooms. I can’t wait to get started on creating my own.
Hi. Thanks for your comment. Thus Sunday's video is late because I was away at a show. I am hoping to post it later today. Make sure you have notifications turned on so that you don't miss it. Sorry to disappoint.
Lovely ‘schrooms. Those blue ones in the photos don’t even look real! The curly fibres are locks, usually from Wensleydale sheep. They do have lovely texture
