Many people says that her backstory is boring just because none of her family died because of demons but to me she had the most realistic and relatable one out of all of them. Mitsuri's story embodies the overcoming of SOCIETY EXPECTATIONS. In her time, which was the Taisho Era, Japan was a highly traditionalist society where standing out was not a good thing. Mitsuri had a hard time fitting in because she had pink hair which is very peculiar that time, she was too strong and eats to much for an average person. That is the time she felt she needed to hide her true self where even she cant recognize herself. On the brighter side, Ubuyashiki and the demon slayer corps accepted for whoever she is and whatever she had, and they really took good care of her and that made her accept her true self and let go of her insecurities. MITSURI IS AN INSPIRATION FOR ME, because in a way I can relate to her story. I LOVE HER SM. 💗💗💗
People complain about everything , personally i loved her story not ever story needs to be blood and not every episode needs an epic fight, her back story fit her character

Mitsuri Kanroji and Obanai Iguro is my favorite ship in the show. They are so differend but so qute together. Once we get Obanai's backstory it gets evan better.

Mitsuri was a former disciple(but not a Tsugoku because at that time Rengoku was not a hashira) of Kyujuro and her love breathing is derived from Rengoku's Flame Breathing Mitsuri viewed Rengoku as her big brother and both of them shared a beautiful brother - sister bond even though they were not related by blood

Mitsuri is such a freaking badass, she is fighting off the upper moon 4 with all his four powers combined and massive area control on her own. And I like her backstory, she doesn't have to change anything about herself, because she's just perfect the way she is!
I saw some people complaining about Mitsuri's plot boring, i think they were too childish and didn't have a deep understanding soul. Accepting yourself and finding where you belong is really the dream of many people (at least for me).
Because people want every backstory to be either extremly sad, or straight up badass. Since Mitsuri's backstory is not as sad as Giyu's for example, people were mad, but it's still very childish to hate her for that

It's worth mentioning how Mitsuri was saved by Tanjiro and the gang. Hashiras aren't some invincible divine being ready to swoop in to save your life, they're humans themselves that require saving sometimes. It's also worth mentioning how upper ranks aren't demons to play around with. They are seriously dangerous and it's only gonna get worse as you climb up the ranks. Once Hantengu is done with...that's when the real nightmares come in👹
in order of strenght top 3 should be stone wind water, for water i think i put it there because giyuu specifically is super good at water breathing its not that its better than the other ones same as wind but stone is just busted

Outside of Mugen Train, Swordsmith is the shortest major arc so it does make sense. It honestly felt like they were struggling to hit 23 minutes on some of these eps this season.
In my Honest Opinion this episode was one of if not the best in Demon slayer so far!! What an amazing episode!! I was grinning ear to ear and jumping with excitement , Mitsuri is the best!! The animation was absolutely top notch and jaw droppingly great, the Love breathing forms and other attacks were so amazing! I'm so glad Mitsuri has a more realistic, sad but not as tragic backstory and it was really interesting, How on earth could people not find her to be beautiful and adorable is beyond me, that dude was nuts lol. MITSURI LOVE IS REAL! I’m so happy she got to fight. I’m so happy she found people in her life that loved her the way her family do, for who she is, we see you Iguro. 😌 I’m happy she is strong and feminine and more women fighting on the show~
the sakura mochi are (usually..?) made from rice. Kinda like onigiri. They are dyed by food coloring, usually with pickled sakura flower or something similar to it being mixed into it. The filling is from sweet red bean paste (literally blended beans with sugar) and the leaf is pickled sakura leaf. I made some beta version of it with cherry jam being mixed into rice and I used nori seaweed dipped in rice vinegar to get that pickled sense of it. I have no sense of smell and I never had real sakura mochi but it was delicious too! I don't think I'll be able to tell the difference once I have the legit one. And there is this manga pannel which explained that Genya can't stand women.. in THAT way because he's now in puberty. He "ignored" Mitsuri back in the hot spring because she was too cute for him to even move 😄
Sakura Rice Cakes are so good! They are a sweet mochi snack. Filled typically with sweet red bean paste. Outside has a rice layer that has a sweet taste with slight cherry blossom!
Also we have seen now the special enhancements in our rookies like Tanjiro : smell Zenitsu : hearing Inosuke : touch/feeling Genya : related to mouth You may heard it before in another comments but just reminding how our rookie 5 has the 5 enhanced senses...out of the 5,only kanao is left ,so hers probably gonna be something related to eyes/sight...

The author officialy stated that Misturi is the slowest Hashira (In therms of move speed), but as fast as Tengen if not even faster in therms of fighting speed. And in therms of physical strength, she is the 3rd strongest Hashira, behind Tengen in 2nd place, and another Hashira in 1st place to not spoil (But I think it's kinda easy to guess who it is honestly lol)
Mitsuri has the strongest physique among the hashiras (she IS the fastest naturally built, when we don't consider breathing and training buffs) and 8 times the muscle density of an average person-though her breathing form is not the most powerful by itself. She learned fire breathing from Rengoku yet decided to go with her own breathing, a derivative of fire breathing that fits her body and talent more. And the ship you guys mentioned is real, by the way!! they are cute. Just keep looking forward to the rest of the story!!!
Notice so far it's only Gyomei, Sanemi and Iguro left as hashiras, who we haven't seen in battle and every season the intensity of the hashiras has gone up

Tengen > Kyojuro and Giyuu. Mitsuri > Muichiro., Tengen > Mitsuri. Tengen Mitsuri Kyojuro Giyuu (Kyojuro and Giyuu are around thee same lvl) Muichiro (sorry but he can't keep up with the other hashira)
The Mark makes a huge difference in regard to physical capabilities. Rengoku and Tengen, as you addressed didn't have the mark hence why they STRUGGLED, but as you saw Muichiro was able to SOLO Gyokko with the mark. I'm sure if Muichiro didn't have the mark, he would've struggled and possibly lost to Gyokko. The mark makes an insane difference. The thing with Tengen he was with Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu, and his wives. He wasn't alone, he had the support, his victory over Upper 6 was a struggle. But if he had unlocked the mark, I'm sure it would've been as quick as Muichiro's victory over Gyokko. Without the mark, you can expect to struggle, but with the mark, I'd say it evens the playing field quite a bit. Another reason why Gyokko lost though is because of his cockiness. In my honest opinion, the arc after Swordsmith, you'll see that the Upper Moons is very split, there is a huge power difference between the top 3 Uppers compared to Upper, 4, 5, and 6.
Akaza is not even serious when fighting Renguko and we know Renguko is quite strong and also the thing that I observe about the differenc between upper 1-3 and upper 4-6 is that the upper 4-6 uses blood demon art while the upper 1-3 has their own technique I think( we see it first hand with akaza)
@@aztec_3954 Yeah it's unfortunate though, according to the manga, Rengoku isn't that strong and had only just recently become a Hashira, by the time Rengoku became a Hashira Mitsuri had just joined the Demon Slayer Corps. Rengoku is strong, but not as strong as some might think, he was like the 8th strongest Hashira out of 9.
Mitsuri💕 being so insanely strong, explains why her ribbon sword can cut through demons necks and their spells, the dancing is just for control... So much BEAUTY & GRACE in her character.

At this point of the story its: Gyomei Tengen Sanemi Mitsuri (marked) (she is below Kyojuro mainly because her reaction speed isn't as good as the others) Kyojuro Giyuu Muichiro (marked) Iguro Shinobu The placement of Mitsuri might not be so accurate, but marked she should be around Sanemi Level ( physically she near the same levelbut falls behind because of her reaction speed as Obanai stated in the final arc)

Tengen base is maybe stronger than mistrui base but definitely not misturi marked she was able to hold her ground against zohakuten(4)where tengen was in difficulty against gyutaro(6). Giyu base behind kyojuro why not it can be defended. But i am sorry mui marked behind giyu base kyojuro abse or even misturi marked it is not debatable mui was able to low diff upper moon five so he is stronger than tengen base for sure and same with kyojuro. @himanshusharma6713 CAP. If you go based on feats alone it won't get you anywhere. 1. Tengen Uzui is the 2nd physically strongest hashira. In DS physical strength is very important as it contributes to overall power and control. Its the main reason why Gyomei is so strong. 2. Tengen Uzui is the Fastest hashira in running speed. People keep saying that running speed doesn't mean anything in a fight. But overall Running speed, means faster physical movement, faster reaction time and endurance. It was stated that Tengen Uzui is so fast that Tanjiro and the others though he disappeared. 3. EXPERIENCE. This one is very important. It was officially confirmed that Tengen Uzui is the 2nd most experienced hashira and most experienced in overall combat. According to Obanai, His experience is the only reason he was able to dodge so much of Muzan's attacks and has such good technique. This is also the reason why Muichiro lost so easily. Experience = overall speed, reflexes and reaction time. This is again why Gyomei has such good reflexes. Senses - Tengen Uzui was confirmed by Gyutaro to have otherworldly sense because he's a shinobi. Reflexes. I already talked about this from experience, but besides that, Tengen has extreme muscle control, probably the best besides Gyomei. His Muscle controll is so good that he could stop his heart to slow the poison. Muscle control - reflexes. Tengen was also the one to teach Sanemi how to close his wounds. Skill. Tengen Uzui is probably the most skilled hashira along with Gyomei. Tengen was training from a child and is extremely skilled due to being a shinobi. In the official databook, their was a panel that showed what the demons thoughts were on the demon slayers. All of them said that Tengen's movements were very accurate and precise. Durability and endurance - Bigger body + experience = More durability and endurance. Stamina - Tengen has the best stamina among the hashira. He was in charge of the stamina training in the HTA arc. He was also confirmed to have a freakishly large lung capacity in one of the light novels. Breathing - Tengen was confirmed to have a freakishly large lung capacity. AS makamo stated, a large lung capacity is the key to becoming stronger with breathing. He is probably 2nd only to Gyomei in this category. Breathing Technique - Sound breathing is the only non demonized breathing technique that is visible to the human eye. This is because it is used with small bombs which greatly increases the attack potency. Tengen's blades are also coated with a powder that causes explosions with the friction against the air. Special ability - Tengen easily takes this. MST (Musical Score) is easily one of the strongest abilities for a demon slayer. Tengen analyzes his opponents fighting style, turns it into a song (musical notes) and counters it. It was stated that he can read and predict all attacks while doing this, even in blind spots. It also allows him to create an attack from himself that's a direct hit. So by stats, Tengen is superior to the others except Gyomei. And is the 2nd strongest hashira due to these reasons (unmarked). The reason why Tengen was loosing was because of the poison. Tengen stated multiple times that if he didn't get poisoned, he couldn't be in that mess. The poison made Tengen significantly weaker. Gyutaro's poison made Tengen only capable of dodging his attacks, thats why he needed Tanjiro to decapitate Gyutaro. Tengen got poisoned mainly because he underestimated Gyutaro at first. When he went to attack, Gyutaro quickly went for the kill and Tengen deflected it to his head. Tengen is the 2nd strongest. Reflexes, Breathing power, stamina and strength are the most important categories. Sources: Manga, Databooks, Light novels. Kyojuro over Giyuu. Kyojuro and Giyuu are almost tied in most categories, but here are some differences. In one of the light novels, Kyojuro beats Giyuu in the physical strength test (Arm wrestling) Kyojuro was also highly praised for his swordsmanship. Kyojuro was faster than Giyuu in the official runinng race. This is the only difference that I could find throught the series. But Kyojuro's physical strength, swordsmanship and speed puts him above Giyuu. (This is unmarked btw) Mitsuri above Muichiro for the same reasons as Tengen (she is just better in almost every category).
Im pretty sure Rengoku is still the strongest from the Hashira that We've seen cuz he went 1 on 1 with Upper 3 Akaza. Meanwhile Muichiro may be a prodigy who's stronger than Tengen, he only beat the upper 5 gyokko, n mitsuri was barely matching the upper 4 Hantengu. There was no official ranking by the author. All we know is that Gyomei is the strongest. Based on feats and official statements, from things like the speed contest and arm wrestling contest, we can have a quite accurate list of what the strength ranking so far would be. 1. Gyomei 2. Tengen 3. Mitsuri 4. Kyojuro 5. Muichiro This is what the ranking would look like now, with Muichiro and Mitsuri having marks. Before it would be like this: 1. Gyomei 2. Tengen 3. Kyojuro 4. Mitsuri 5. Muichiro

Mitsuri has the fastest sword technquie among the Hashira, even faster than Tengen, who can swing his blade so fast he created a sonic boom. Her technquie is extremmerly fast, can cut through almost anything, flexible and has a wide range and great area control. Over all, her breathing style is very comprehensive. The cons is that this style is super hard and can only be use by Mitsuri. And about pure strenght wise, Gyomei the stone hashira is the strongest, 2nd is Tengen, 3rd place is interchangable between Sanemi, Mitsuri, Rengoku, Giyu. 4th is Muichiro then Obanai, last place is Shinobu of course. But Mitsuri has the slowest running speed.
The anime really gave justice to mitsuri, in my opinion as a manga reader. I did not really impressed with her (in terms of battling with demon) while reading the manga but I was literally stunned with her battle scene in this episode. Next episode will be insane but I don't know either to hope it comes faster or not because I don't want this season to end 😭 We need to wait for 2-3 years more ig for next arc like I really hope Ufotable is halfway through season 4 production but that's kinda impossible 😢

With the demon slayer mark, Mitsuri is of equal strength with Rengoku or maybe stronger but not so far. Rengoku is strong even without the mark. Such a shame he has not enough time to get one.
@ange the way i was observing the whole "backstory" here of both mitsury and upper demon 4 is the concept of "love yourself first." vs "be what society wants you to be" I am only as caught up as you are, but my thoughts at the time were that she was struggling to find love in other people because she didn't know how to love herself, and set her own heart ablaze with love. Whereas with Hantengu, he seems to be struggling with not respecting himself, and fearing his own responsibility because he feels like he's owed for the world not loving him... and maybe, just maybe, the emotion demons are all his way of compensating for his fear by faking the emotions since he's too afraid to love himself too.. maybe if we had a backstory we'll know more. but i'm fairly like 90% confident about mitsury's backstory "theme" though.

I saw some people complaining about Mitsuri's plot boring, i think they were too childish and didn't have a deep understanding soul. Accepting yourself and finding where you belong is really the dream of many people (at least for me).
Because people want every backstory to be either extremly sad, or straight up badass. Since Mitsuri's backstory is not as sad as Giyu's for example, people were mad, but it's still very childish to hate her for that

It's worth mentioning how Mitsuri was saved by Tanjiro and the gang. Hashiras aren't some invincible divine being ready to swoop in to save your life, they're humans themselves that require saving sometimes. It's also worth mentioning how upper ranks aren't demons to play around with. They are seriously dangerous and it's only gonna get worse as you climb up the ranks. Once Hantengu is done with...that's when the real nightmares come in👹

Outside of Mugen Train, Swordsmith is the shortest major arc so it does make sense. It honestly felt like they were struggling to hit 23 minutes on some of these eps this season.

In my Honest Opinion this episode was one of if not the best in Demon slayer so far!! What an amazing episode!! I was grinning ear to ear and jumping with excitement , Mitsuri is the best!! The animation was absolutely top notch and jaw droppingly great, the Love breathing forms and other attacks were so amazing!
I'm so glad Mitsuri has a more realistic, sad but not as tragic backstory and it was really interesting, How on earth could people not find her to be beautiful and adorable is beyond me, that dude was nuts lol. Mitsuri is the best DS waifu fs

the sakura mochi are (usually..?) made from rice. Kinda like onigiri. They are dyed by food coloring, usually with pickled sakura flower or something similar to it being mixed into it. The filling is from sweet red bean paste (literally blended beans with sugar) and the leaf is pickled sakura leaf. I made some beta version of it with cherry jam being mixed into rice and I used nori seaweed dipped in rice vinegar to get that pickled sense of it. I have no sense of smell and I never had real sakura mochi but it was delicious too! I don't think I'll be able to tell the difference once I have the legit one.
And there is this manga pannel which explained that Genya can't stand women.. in THAT way because he's now in puberty. He "ignored" Mitsuri back in the hot spring because she was too cute for him to even move 😄

I hope they extend Hantengu's backstory even a little bit like they did with Mitsuri. Dude is literally the main villain of the season.
The author officialy stated that Misturi is the slowest Hashira (In therms of move speed), but as fast as Tengen if not even faster in therms of fighting speed.
And in therms of physical strength, she is the 3rd strongest Hashira, behind Tengen in 2nd place, and another Hashira in 1st place to not spoil (But I think it's kinda easy to guess who it is honestly lol)
Mitsuri has the strongest physique among the hashiras (she IS the fastest naturally built, when we don't consider breathing and training buffs) and 8 times the muscle density of an average person-though her breathing form is not the most powerful by itself. She learned fire breathing from Rengoku yet decided to go with her own breathing, a derivative of fire breathing that fits her body and talent more. And the ship you guys mentioned is real, by the way!! they are cute. Just keep looking forward to the rest of the story!!!
Notice so far it's only Gyomei, Sanemi and Iguro left as hashiras, who we haven't seen in battle and every season the intensity of the hashiras has gone up

The Mark makes a huge difference in regard to physical capabilities.
Rengoku and Tengen, as you addressed didn't have the mark hence why they STRUGGLED, but as you saw Muichiro was able to SOLO Gyokko with the mark. I'm sure if Muichiro didn't have the mark, he would've struggled and possibly lost to Gyokko. The mark makes an insane difference.
The thing with Tengen he was with Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu, and his wives. He wasn't alone, he had the support, his victory over Upper 6 was a struggle. But if he had unlocked the mark, I'm sure it would've been as quick as Muichiro's victory over Gyokko.
Without the mark, you can expect to struggle, but with the mark, I'd say it evens the playing field quite a bit. Another reason why Gyokko lost though is because of his cockiness.
In my honest opinion, the arc after Swordsmith, you'll see that the Upper Moons is very split, there is a huge power difference between the top 3 Uppers compared to Upper, 4, 5, and 6.
Akaza is not even serious when fighting Renguko and we know Renguko is quite strong and also the thing that I observe about the differenc between upper 1-3 and upper 4-6 is that the upper 4-6 uses blood demon art while the upper 1-3 has their own technique I think( we see it first hand with akaza)
@@aztec_3954 Yeah it's unfortunate though, according to the manga, Rengoku isn't that strong and had only just recently become a Hashira, by the time Rengoku became a Hashira Mitsuri had just joined the Demon Slayer Corps. Rengoku is strong, but not as strong as some might think, he was like the 8th strongest Hashira out of 9.

Tengen base is maybe stronger than mistrui base but definitely not misturi marked she was able to hold her ground against zohakuten(4)where tengen was in difficulty against gyutaro(6). Giyu base behind kyojuro why not it can be defended. But i am sorry mui marked behind giyu base kyojuro abse or even misturi marked it is not debatable mui was able to low diff upper moon five so he is stronger than tengen base for sure and same with kyojuro. 1. Tengen Uzui is the 2nd physically strongest hashira. In DS physical strength is very important as it contributes to overall power and control. Its the main reason why Gyomei is so strong.
2. Tengen Uzui is the Fastest hashira in running speed. People keep saying that running speed doesn't mean anything in a fight. But overall Running speed, means faster physical movement, faster reaction time and endurance. It was stated that Tengen Uzui is so fast that Tanjiro and the others though he disappeared.
3. EXPERIENCE. This one is very important. It was officially confirmed that Tengen Uzui is the 2nd most experienced hashira and most experienced in overall combat. According to Obanai, His experience is the only reason he was able to dodge so much of Muzan's attacks and has such good technique. This is also the reason why Muichiro lost so easily. Experience = overall speed, reflexes and reaction time. This is again why Gyomei has such good reflexes.
Senses - Tengen Uzui was confirmed by Gyutaro to have otherworldly sense because he's a shinobi.
Reflexes. I already talked about this from experience, but besides that, Tengen has extreme muscle control, probably the best besides Gyomei. His Muscle controll is so good that he could stop his heart to slow the poison. Muscle control - reflexes. Tengen was also the one to teach Sanemi how to close his wounds.
Skill. Tengen Uzui is probably the most skilled hashira along with Gyomei. Tengen was training from a child and is extremely skilled due to being a shinobi. In the official databook, their was a panel that showed what the demons thoughts were on the demon slayers. All of them said that Tengen's movements were very accurate and precise.
Durability and endurance - Bigger body + experience = More durability and endurance.
Stamina - Tengen has the best stamina among the hashira. He was in charge of the stamina training in the HTA arc. He was also confirmed to have a freakishly large lung capacity in one of the light novels.
Breathing - Tengen was confirmed to have a freakishly large lung capacity. AS makamo stated, a large lung capacity is the key to becoming stronger with breathing. He is probably 2nd only to Gyomei in this category.
Breathing Technique - Sound breathing is the only non demonized breathing technique that is visible to the human eye. This is because it is used with small bombs which greatly increases the attack potency. Tengen's blades are also coated with a powder that causes explosions with the friction against the air.
Special ability - Tengen easily takes this. MST (Musical Score) is easily one of the strongest abilities for a demon slayer. Tengen analyzes his opponents fighting style, turns it into a song (musical notes) and counters it. It was stated that he can read and predict all attacks while doing this, even in blind spots. It also allows him to create an attack from himself that's a direct hit.
So by stats, Tengen is superior to the others except Gyomei. And is the 2nd strongest hashira due to these reasons (unmarked).
The reason why Tengen was loosing was because of the poison. Tengen stated multiple times that if he didn't get poisoned, he couldn't be in that mess. The poison made Tengen significantly weaker. Gyutaro's poison made Tengen only capable of dodging his attacks, thats why he needed Tanjiro to decapitate Gyutaro. Tengen got poisoned mainly because he underestimated Gyutaro at first. When he went to attack, Gyutaro quickly went for the kill and Tengen deflected it to his head.
Tengen is the 2nd strongest.
Reflexes, Breathing power, stamina and strength are the most important categories.

Kyojuro and Giyuu are almost tied in most categories, but here are some differences.
In one of the light novels, Kyojuro beats Giyuu in the physical strength test (Arm wrestling)
Kyojuro was also highly praised for his swordsmanship.
Kyojuro was faster than Giyuu in the official runinng race.
This is the only difference that I could find throught the series. But Kyojuro's physical strength, swordsmanship and speed puts him above Giyuu. (This is unmarked btw)
Mitsuri above Muichiro for the same reasons as Tengen (she is just better in almost every category).

Im pretty sure Rengoku is still the strongest from the Hashira that We've seen cuz he went 1 on 1 with Upper 3 Akaza. Meanwhile Muichiro may be a prodigy who's stronger than Tengen, he only beat the upper 5 gyokko, n mitsuri was barely matching the upper 4 Hantengu.

There was no official ranking by the author. All we know is that Gyomei is the strongest. Based on feats and official statements, from things like the speed contest and arm wrestling contest, we can have a quite accurate list of what the strength ranking so far would be.

Mitsuri has the fastest sword technquie among the Hashira, even faster than Tengen, who can swing his blade so fast he created a sonic boom. Her technquie is extremmerly fast, can cut through almost anything, flexible and has a wide range and great area control. Over all, her breathing style is very comprehensive. The cons is that this style is super hard and can only be use by Mitsuri. And about pure strenght wise, Gyomei the stone hashira is the strongest, 2nd is Tengen, 3rd place is interchangable between Sanemi, Mitsuri, Rengoku, Giyu. 4th is Muichiro then Obanai, last place is Shinobu of course. But Mitsuri has the slowest running speed.

The anime really gave justice to mitsuri, in my opinion as a manga reader. I did not really impressed with her (in terms of battling with demon) while reading the manga but I was literally stunned with her battle scene in this episode. Next episode will be insane but I don't know either to hope it comes faster or not because I don't want this season to end 😭 We need to wait for 2-3 years more ig for next arc like I really hope Ufotable is halfway through season 4 production but that's kinda impossible 😢

With the demon slayer mark, Mitsuri is of equal strength with Rengoku or maybe stronger but not so far. Rengoku is strong even without the mark. Such a shame he has not enough time to get one.
@ange the way i was observing the whole "backstory" here of both mitsury and upper demon 4 is the concept of "love yourself first." vs "be what society wants you to be"
I am only as caught up as you are, but my thoughts at the time were that she was struggling to find love in other people because she didn't know how to love herself, and set her own heart ablaze with love. Whereas with Hantengu, he seems to be struggling with not respecting himself, and fearing his own responsibility because he feels like he's owed for the world not loving him... and maybe, just maybe, the emotion demons are all his way of compensating for his fear by faking the emotions since he's too afraid to love himself too.. maybe if we had a backstory we'll know more. but i'm fairly like 90% confident about mitsury's backstory "theme" though.
