I’m one of them. I watched the OP every episode but I didn’t realize gyutaro was there until after his reveal. I’m so glad I’m not a guy that pays attention to detail bc I would’ve gotten spoiled😭
I have watched this opening SO many times and I never noticed him either. I always find that I'm way more likely to be spoiled by comments saying there are spoilers than actually noticing said "spoilers" in the intro itself.
LiSa is a staple in anime openings. She also sings for anime like Sword Art Online and Fate/Zero, and those songs are easily just as amazing. She never disappoints
When Homura came out in The First Take, it was a hard year for LiSA, compared to how happy she was in Gurenge. Between all the drama and her husband cheating on her. She just channeled all those emotions in her songs. She's really something. Such a strong person.
Ikr! How could he do that to LiSA, she is the most perfect person in the world! LiSA's husband deserves a punishment worse than hell! But if she forgives him (which she did, because she is literally the most kind, and the best person in the universe) then so do I
@@Phals Similarly I cannot uncerstand women who cheat. And there are far more women who cheat compared to men. So take your misandry somewhere else. Incel.
Fun fact that may not be that fun: Homura was actually based on her real life story. She lost someone that was her light and now moving forwards without glancing back like Tanjiro and Rengoku. That’s why she sounded so emotional during her take and that’s what she meant when she said “it reminded me of many things”
@@ginger0403 probably they don't know Aimer as well, and though her First Take video on Zankyosanka did well, it's nowhere near as blown up as LiSA's were. Would be cool if they dropped another video on it

Ange, LiSA and Aimer are both artist on Sony’s SACRA label, which is a member of the Demon Slayer production committee. Might help put things in context!
A few things to note: 1. Anime typically release in 1 of 3 patterns: - Half seasons (this refers to 12/13 episode series/a season). - Full seasons (this refers to 24-26 episode series/seasons). - Constant/undefined (referring to non stop until it finishes, or perhaps a hiatus and return, examples: One Piece has been going for over 1000 weeks lol, Fairy Tail did 175 episodes non stop, took a year or so break, did another 100, took another year then finished with 50ish) 2. Typically I believe Japanese artists are given the general plot of a show, perhaps what the adapting arc is about, the character overlay, and the overall tone, they may then say a theme they wish to be in the song is loss, or overcoming something. Then the artist is usually given creative freedom. To the best of my knowledge LiSa has written all her songs, with maybe a little assistance from staff? But I know she writes her own music for anime a lot of the time as she's dedicated the writing and song to her deceased family and stuff at concerts. 3. She isn't a voice actor, HOWEVER, it's not uncommon AT ALL for voice actors to sing songs in the show or/and to be trained to sing in general. Re Zero has such a song, perhaps the most powerful in its season. Idol culture is huge in Japan, young women (and men, just less commonly) will typically undergo a variety of vocal training courses, they branch out into voice acting, being an idol, a singer, heck a ton now become V-Tubers and make their own music later down the line. Personal note: I've always loved Japanese music, I believe it still holds a value that a lot of western music has lost, don't get me wrong, I love my bops and such too, but outside of some rap and rock music, you often find music is becoming dumbed down or/and less personal. E.g. Rap used to be about expressing pain, hardship, etc. Now half is about doing drugs, crime, and sex... 😅 On the other hand, Japanese music still typically tells a story or has emotion to it. The west still has this, but due to the aforementioned, my playlist is pretty much half Japanese, half rock/metal. Got a few bops in there too I guess.
35:35 The lyrics here was "Set your heart ablaze" which was the same sentence Rengoku said to Tanjiro before he died. I don't know why they changed it but that line really got me when I first heard this song.
Lisa sang OP2 Akeboshi on The First Take and it was released yesterday, and Aimer also sang OP3 Zankyosanka on The First Take too. Hope you guys make a video reaction about it ^^
Actually the 1st Opening Hashira's Shoot/Scene was very, VERY special.. LiSA changed the lyrics just for that one scene! The original lyrics if she sang it EVERYWHERE, even in the 1st take was 'Arigato, kanashimi o' which means, 'I thank you for the sadness', WHILE in that special one Hashira's scene the lyrics was, 'Nando demo tachiagare!' which means, 'No matter how many times, I'll stand up once again!'. Beautiful lyrics and a very fitting one, wasn't it? Just for that Hashira's scene, the ones who will never give up no matter what! I love it very much! And 'Homura', oh... 'Homura' was my all-time favorite! The lyrics OMG... Especially that 'Mirai no tame ni' which means 'fo future's sake', soooo Rengoku-san! Because he chose to sacrifice himself for the future of Demon Slayer Corps, which he entrusted to Tanjiro and co. plus his remaining fellow Hashira!
OP3 is so subtle and the way it's visuals are put together is brilliant and the song itself suits Tengen perfectly. Flashy, but the lyrics have "Never Give Up" energy. Lisa's "Gurenge" is still my favourite, that song and it's lyrics are Demon Slayer.
The third OP is my favorite. The vibes, the music and its flow, the animation felt like they were constantly moving towards the final fight. It's so great
Lisa is THE GOAT btw, she is so popular in the anime industry, when her husband cheated on her, he got fired from all his voice actor roles. and they were big ones. serves him right!
What also probably has something to do with adultery is a big big thing in Japan. Very dishonorable You lose your job and everything for cheating on your spouse. So yes he deserved it
Recently had to write about this for my job, on the fact that he got replaced on this one anime, and finding out his wife was LiSA pissed me off two-fold.
Great reactions guys! But u all missed out the song in Episode 19. It’s called Tanjiro No Uta (in English called Tanjiro’s song). Literally it’s the main character song. The full song with lyrics is amazing! It tells u how Tanjiro actually felt up to that point of time! The lyrics and bridge n climax are beautiful yet meaningful❤
There's something I hadn't noticed before about the openings until now. In the Mugen Train opening, Rengoku and Tanjiro pop up and then go in different directions for the action shot. In the Entertainment District opening, Tengen and Tanjiro op up the same way and then go in the same direction(the same direction as Tanjiro went in the Mugen Train opening) for the action shot. I can't help but wonder if this is an allusion to the fate of the two Hashira. Rengoku goes in a different direction(after crossing paths with Tanjiro) perhaps foreshadowing his death and his inspiring Tanjiro but remaining in the past. Tengen goes in the same direction(and stands behind Tanjiro) perhaps foreshadowing that he will not die and will support Tanjiro as he moves forward or that Tanjiro will surpass him. The second part of each of those could be a stretch but I think the first part makes sense.

The lirics, that's what you'll find in most of Japanese song, they are like poem with deep meaning and message. Many are uplifting, some others are sad and depressing, some has different interpretation due to Japanese language itself sometimes has different meaning regarding the context. Hope you react to other J-Rocs/Pops either from Anime or not.
LiSa is just great. Like, the show itself may have dubious writing (Looking at you, Sword Art Online) but you know the opening is going to be amazing if she's the one singing it. And those first takes... You don't get there with hard work alone. You don't get there with talent alone. She's got both and that's how she got there.
coming from a music family I totally appreciate the musician pov going over just how gangster LiSa is. Just wondering, have either of you watched tokyo ghoul??? it's a 3 season banger and I am hoping you two might enjoy it
All ops and eds of demon Slayer are done by the same music composer Yuki kajiura (she did multiple songs for Lisa and aimer as well) she's one of the best composers around and she sometimes does OSTs for ds too but majority of the OST's are done by the main composer Go Shinna Yuki kajira written all the songs Lisa contributed too I heard that akeboshi was inspired from the edge (E1) and homura and the lyrics are connected as well it seems idk that for sure cuz I dont know Japanese but It was mentioned officially....
Anyone who loves the first opening (Gurenge) should check out N. Flying's cover of it for sure. They took a bit of a heavier approach and it's phenomenal.
So happy to finally see this video! I think if you guys want to react to more LiSA, you should definitely check out the Fate series, particularly Fate: Zero! It's also animated by Ufotable, so you know the quality is top tier
Goodness you two already fell in love with LiSA how much more if you encounter an anime where you hear May'n and Eir Aoi. These women, including LiSA, are the big 3 staples of epic iconic anime songs.
LiSa co-wrote the lyrics for Homura, along with Yuki Kajiura who also composed the song, and is a living legend among Japanese composers in her own rights.
In japanese there are no 'letters' like in english, they have 'characters' that represents sounds/syllables. There are the vowels that are each represented by a character, and the rest are a combination of a consonant and a vowel - "Ka, ki, ku, ke, ko", "ga, gi, gu, ge, go"...etc. When written, you pronounce all the syllables distinctly. So it's not 'gurenje' like you pronounced it, it's "Gu ren ge" (guren 'gey')
It's funny that you were wondering if LiSA was also a voice actress or not, because she actually debuted a the voice of you which is a character from the anime Angel beats. Also she was part the girls read monster band for Angel beats, I remember the final performance in 2010 so nostalgic! 😭 Everyone must show LiSA the Love she deserves its our duty. ( Hard-core LiSA can is going to watch some LiSA streams, baichi ✌)
The song from season 1 episode 19 is very good too when Tanjiro uses Hinokami Kagura for the first time ❤️ you guys should check that out as well ☺️ - Tanjiro no uta
Great video, as always. Ange, I have a challenge for you, man. We see that you can hold your tears while watching emotional scenes. But there's a movie that I think you won't be able to hold yourself: Grave of the Fireflies (1988). It's a really sad and beautiful animation movie by Studio Ghibli, based on a true story. Carlie would be devasted, for sure. But it's a experience that people should have at least once in life. I will not spoil for the sake of you two, someday, react to it. Thank you for the videos!
Im sure you will like cry baby by the official higedandism, the song is so emotional and has 12 note interval bcs its an opening to the anime 'tokyo revengers' where the main character time travel for 12 years to save a lot of ppl, its an interesting anime, btw. It's about gangster, a school gangster.
9:31 FUN FACT: Tanjiro and Rengoku are facing different directions - it suggests Rengoku will pass away eventually. Demon Slayer consistently uses this type of opening but nobody have been going towards the right side other than Rengoku 😢
The part where in the Mugen train arc they were confused as they (I guess) watched only the movie version of the season 2. If they weren't aware there was actually a TV version of the said movie hence this ending sequence is playing 13:08.
lisa’s actually wrote the lyrics for homura about her husband after he had an affair and attempted suicide after that’s why she had so much emotion behind it
i think in the 2nd first take, LiSA was kinda down/serious cause of the recent incident happened with her regarding relationship. it's sad to see a person as talented and beautiful as LiSa also get cheated on. 🙁🙁💔

The way LiSa completely transforms the moment she starts singing is so impressive to me... she is also very absorbed into it.
I like LiSA song 90% of her song that i've listen
This is all of my Recommended for you guys that wanna listen to all of her song
- Adamas
- Unlasting
- Catch the Moment
- Rising Hope
- Shirushii
-
- Ichiban no Takaramono
- Ash
- Oath Sign
- Break Freak Out
- Headphone Actor
- Yukei Yesterday
- no More time Machine
- Crossing Field
- Mr Launcher
Gurenge and unravel are my all time favorite songs i don't even know how many times i listined it and lisa and TK are pure gem in J-pop you guys should react more of her songs.
I also wanna take the time to thank you both for the extras you do after seasons, with your editing format it's cool that you go spoiler free and get a mostly blind reaction post-show and I've genuinely loved watching your reactions to these.
I know Ange is going to LOVE One Punch Man's opening/covering it.
OP3 is a masterpiece!
In OP 3, did you notice the Muscular Mice running with Inosuke as he was putting on his mask at 16:56?
I finished the manga a couple months ago, I can't wait to see the rest of the show animated and for you guys to react to it.
It's gonna be a roller-coaster of emotions 😄
That final arc is gonna be FLASHY AS HELL
Just wondering, have either of you watched tokyo ghoul??? it's a 3 season banger and I am hoping you two might enjoy it
unravel of tokyo ghoul is one of the best too
All ops and eds of demon Slayer are done by the same music composer Yuki kajiura (she did multiple songs for Lisa and aimer as well) she's one of the best composers around and she sometimes does OSTs for ds too but majority of the OST's are done by the main composer Go Shinna
Yuki kajira written all the songs Lisa contributed too
I heard that akeboshi was inspired from the edge (E1) and homura and the lyrics are connected as well it seems idk that for sure cuz I dont know Japanese but It was mentioned officially....
Actually theres a documental of LIsa in netflix (the first of a j-pop singer) when you can saw that she is watching demon slayer
When I was on furlough from my job during the pandemic, I bought a ticket to watch LiSA in concert online & it was breathtaking.
Anyone who loves the first opening (Gurenge) should check out N. Flying's cover of it for sure. They took a bit of a heavier approach and it's phenomenal.
Homura just holds a special place in my heart, it's so good!
So happy to finally see this video! I think if you guys want to react to more LiSA, you should definitely check out the Fate series, particularly Fate: Zero! It's also animated by Ufotable, so you know the quality is top tier
Ange guitar covers are soooooo gooood whatttt😮😮❤❤. He is soo good omg. I wish i could get full version of ange guitar covers. I love it.
When Ange said: "bring the whole box forward". I felt that bro 😢
You all need to react to her live concert performances. They are awesome
The ending of season 2 and the opening of season 1 are my most faves.. also Homura is beautiful and heartbreaking 😭
Tbh i knew demon slayer bcs of lisa and her song gurenge, the song is so popular even to international non-jpopers
Homura will never NOT make me cry, it's so emotional and good! :')
Some of the most iconic Anime openings ar from LiSA she is just Awesome!!Love SAO OP1
There is also a First Take of Aimer "Zankyosanka" 🥺
A lisa é incrivelmente talentosa, não importa quantas vezes eu escute eu me arrepio em todas
Because of this reaction I'm going to watch the arcs again. More to the both of you. thanks for doing reactions like this.
Goodness you two already fell in love with LiSA how much more if you encounter an anime where you hear May'n and Eir Aoi. These women, including LiSA, are the big 3 staples of epic iconic anime songs.
i very like your reaction, op2 also has THE FIRST TAKE, it's called Aimer - 残響散歌 / THE FIRST TAKE
LiSa co-wrote the lyrics for Homura, along with Yuki Kajiura who also composed the song, and is a living legend among Japanese composers in her own rights.
When the singer sing the song with their heart, when you hear the song that will make you know ouhh god she a good singer 🥰
Gurenge is 「紅蓮華」mean Red Lotus in Japanese and also is a buddhism word means eight hells.
You guys need to react to LiSA's Gurenge live performance. The vibe was on another level...
This was awesome bros. I actually got teary eyed by just listening without knowing the lyrics
On Homura she shows a fact for a true artist, make the people feels the emotion on their hearts
I know this is very late, but it's interesting, LiSA is a GOAT of music. You know her DoB? 24th June 1987. The exact day as a certain Lionel Messi.
The song from season 1 episode 19 is very good too when Tanjiro uses Hinokami Kagura for the first time ❤️ you guys should check that out as well ☺️ - Tanjiro no uta
so glad to see you guys reacted to lisa’s first takes! they’re both wonderful performances ❤️
Honestly I didn't even notice Gyutaro was in the second op until now lmao
Im sure you will like cry baby by the official higedandism, the song is so emotional and has 12 note interval bcs its an opening to the anime 'tokyo revengers' where the main character time travel for 12 years to save a lot of ppl, its an interesting anime, btw. It's about gangster, a school gangster.
I lost it when ma man called the Shamisen a guitar.... Shamisen being one of my most favourite instrument to ever exist
i’ve literally watched homura so many times and cry every time
Great review of the songs to complete the Demon Slayer series!! Glad you found the Song Hashira's First Take videos too!
OP3 also has a first take version, maybe you can also do reaction. Hope you guys enjoying!!
I think you guys should def react to the episode 19 ending, that song in particular is about tanjiro and very beautiful
If you guys loved Lisa , you should check out TK''s unravel!!..its just indescribable!
You must watch all the teaser and trailer related to demon slayer season 3
Yes Lisa does watch demon slayer, in her new documentary on Netflix there’s a scene of her watching the Mugen train movie
ayo carlo and angelie yall almost at 100k subs!
Yesss, LiSA concert reaction also a good idea
9:31 FUN FACT: Tanjiro and Rengoku are facing different directions - it suggests Rengoku will pass away eventually. Demon Slayer consistently uses this type of opening but nobody have been going towards the right side other than Rengoku 😢
Don't take aimer for granted! If you listen to her works you'd be blown!!!
The part where in the Mugen train arc they were confused as they (I guess) watched only the movie version of the season 2. If they weren't aware there was actually a TV version of the said movie hence this ending sequence is playing 13:08.
lisa’s actually wrote the lyrics for homura about her husband after he had an affair and attempted suicide after that’s why she had so much emotion behind it
You guys should listen to ADAMAS and Crossing Field the live version (even off cam). IMO the best way to enjoy LiSA is to watch her live
i think in the 2nd first take, LiSA was kinda down/serious cause of the recent incident happened with her regarding relationship. it's sad to see a person as talented and beautiful as LiSa also get cheated on. 🙁🙁💔
Was really nice to see you reacting to The First Take videos! They are really cool
Hope to see more of them in the feature
(also maybe therer is a meaning in doing follow ups, as some Demon Slayer songs, for example, happened after you made the video :D)
The 2nd opening hits different after watching the movie.
