There were some audio problems with the video.
    Here's the fixed one: ua-cam.com/video/ua5xJ7Uel1s/v-deo.html

Hmm, somehow your voice seems to come from only one of my headset speakers and not the other.

Great video. Fate of the Norns is a great game.

I'm absolutely new to this channel and this video. While your thoughts on initiative as a mechanic are valuable, please fix the audio for this video. Your speech only plays for the right ear, and it's fairly distracting and uncomfortable.
Otherwise, the initiative system sounds pretty simple for being dynamic, but it still needs some tracking.

My right ear really enjoyed the video lol
I like the system, but knowing my playgroup, combat would take a lot longer than it already does

One of the things I’ve done to minimize delays is to draw each tile one at a time. If the player isn’t ready, their character hesitates and is delayed to the end of the round. Not ready then? Next round it is.
It’s a bit hardcore, but players stay on their toes and have to be ready at any time. It has been argued that this method messes up coordination between characters, but in reality it simply moves it back in initiative order.
