A lot of the School of Rock guys have rather immature voices. It's normal at that age for the girls to sound older, they mature faster. But this guy was right on the fucking money! And this is not a easy song to perform!
I lost a very dear friend a couple of weeks ago to an out of the blue heart attack. He was only 50 years old. He loved Peter Gabriel and this song in particular. Here's to you, Jeremy. Grab your things I've come to take you home.
I've watched this 3-4 times now ... The moments when these young, brilliant musicians realize just how well they're playing not only brings the smiles of knowing to them, but almost ... often, brings tears to my aging eyes 😊 This is epic! More!!!!! 😁👍
Same here Satori,, 73 years on this planet and I've never wished I could have another try at this thing called living as much as I do now that I have found this amazing channel. Kids,, THIS is where stars are created and the World is awaiting you to share your skills enjoying your craft with us. School of ROCK is AWESOME!!
IF he sounded identical, someone would complain it's not original. If he doesn't sound identical, someone will complain that it doesn't sound as good. This is the internet, where people who have never accomplished anything come to whine about those who have.
Yes, but the lead singer could be a little bit "higher" in the tone...lol But it´s only perfect also with violin. This does´nt Peter Gabriel. Good idea of School of Rock Students
Holy cow that singer is dope! The howling was just the cherry on top, and Erin's laugh was priceless. A beautiful rendition of a song that should be played more often.
This is flawless! Peter Gabriel was the former lead singer of Genesis and when he came out with this song, I was floored. This cover by a very talented group of teenagers takes by breath away. From the vocals to every band member, they are all superb.
Her smile at 2:37 was a beautiful moment. Whether it was to a friend off-stage or for the enjoyment of playing the song, doesn't matter, it was just great to see her show an emotion during the performance.
@@onionsoup6813 I agree, I am pretty sure it is a viola. The dead give-away is how wide the instrument is, and the position of the chin rest. On a violin the chin rest covers more than half the instrument, the viola's chin rest barely hits halfway. Either way though, she does a really nice job playing it.
I love the fact these young adults have chosen songs that perhaps weren't major hits in all cities but certainly branded tough cult classics that require a great deal of understanding, knowledge and preparation. As soon as I saw Peter Gabriel I had to listen. Who is gonna try to cover such a song?! School of Rock, that's who. Wonderful rendition and that young man has a great voice!
WOW, the singer has a great voice! I only starting watching this video out of sheer curiosity, at first, nothing interesting enough to keep me watching for very long, until the vocals started. Can’t believe I ended up watching the entire video.
This song is tricky -- you have to build the intensity through the song by not rushing, while also not dragging the tempo. The lead singer and the drummer are absolutely key in building and keeping the intensity. They nailed it. You can even see in the breaks after the chorus that the whole band knows they are hitting it, and the confidence just flows from there. Great job.
I have watched this 20 times. They're all just fantastic. Listen to it in the dark with earphones, you'll go to another place. Great job for the students and instructors. A real pleasure.
Seeing these wonderful young people performing this song in particular is such an honor to witness. It makes me think that everything will be OK and there is hope for the future.
Hopefully, these young people have spent and will spend the lifetime it takes to appreciate Gabriel and his many different sides...Gabriel is an angel, sent to earth to show humans their potential.
Very talented each and every one. These young people are learning a great skill and so much better than the gangs that are swallowing up young people today.
As aging rock stars of many decades continue to gradually fade away -- this emerging group of young Instrumentalists and Singers have a HUGE HUG AND CAPACITY UPON ON US AND THE FUTURE! Plainly talented; energetically devoted; lovingly performed; forever gratitude from your appreciative on-line pal Cav in Marin County, CA; 7 August, 2024! *
Awesome!!!!!! LOVE seeing Kids play Rock Music amd Just Music In general. Kudos to these Teachers. Kid doing Lyrics Is IMPRESSIVE!!!!!!!! Actually..... THEY ALL ARE!!!!!!!!!!
I love that they were having so much fun with the vocalizations at the end, and that the guy on shaker and the one on triangle were just as committed to their parts as everyone else. Great cover of a great song!
Most beautiful rendition of this song, it left me weeping. bless those youngsters. this song has very deep meaning to me for many many years. god bless 😔
OMG!!!!!!!!! MORE! MORE! MORE!. This is my favorite! Please give us another, and another!!! Thank you!!! This is the type of music that will make you $$$$.
I want to be a kid again, and go to a different school, one with money for instruments. With teachers who know there’s something worth playing other than Greensleaves.
TonePilot truer words have never been written. I adore music and later in life learned to play guitar on my own but I missed the informative years of my life playing an instrument I eventually started to hate because of all you wrote. But my love for music never faltered. This performance made me realize what passion and love for an instrument can do. Beautiful performance.
This is the absolute best cover of all of the School of Rock All-Star covers... Lead Singer and the absolutely gorgeous and talented Viola Player make it the BEST.
There are no real weak links in this Cover. PG put lots of intricacies in this tune with the chords and vocals as usual... and I can't believe how spot on this Cover is. Damn near perfection and at the very end, they all realize what badasses they really are. I can't stop listening.
The first version, other than the original recording, that has the barking and howling during the outro to my knowledge. That's always been one of my favorite parts. Love it!
Love the arrangement! Great instrumentation with the violin and of course the triangle. Peter Gabriel should be impressed with the vocalist’s singing/storytelling chops. Well done!!
The vocalist really captured the essence of Peter Gabriel here. Most impressive.

Hey mister vocalist. You nailed it. Flat out nailed it. Impeccably nailed it. You've a bright future.
it's a shame about the autotune though :(
Exactly what I thought. Remarkable. Seldom seen...
@@ryanoconnor7957 I agree
Sure did...superb
Agreed. Peter Gabriel is so talented but, this vocalist is better than the original. And the band also nailed . Congrats for everyone.😮
There's Peter Gabriel in that voice. I loved this.
I'm 68 now and just Love watching these kid's Knock Homerun after Homerun with these CLASSIC OLDIES. School Of Rock ....well.... ROCKS
They killed it. Every instrument was pretty flawless and the singer was awesome
I liked the smiles that began to creep out after they realized that they sounded perfect. Well done.
Great to see a male singer. And he did an awesome job!
That kid sings like he means it. Like he was really there and wants to tell you the story.

Good music is timeless! Nicely done!
Word...
Yes, true. Ralph, 66 years old
Very good indeed. The singer was spot on! The whole group did well!!
That violin player is downright cute plus she is spot on with the song.
She's too young for you bro.
The lead singer nails it perfect voice for the song
No... no he doesnt
@zalewskimm So what? When you cover a song, you cover it. All the instrumental is the same, why not try for the same vocal?

My God, what a gorgeous version of this classic!

@@BernhardistI suppose that you think that you could do better?
@@sergeantmasson3669 No,no I can´t sing!!!
It sound´s very special 😁😂🤣
You know how to make a old guy rock thanks peace✌
I was their age when this song was released - they definitely did it justice.
same for me :( sniff....... where is 1977....
My wife thought this was Peter Gabriel from the other room, excellent!
Holy cow that singer is dope! The howling was just the cherry on top, and Erin's laugh was priceless. A beautiful rendition of a song that should be played more often.

amen 🙏
You kids give me hope for our collective musical future.
All of these young people are professionals and Peter would be proud.
The school of rock never disappoints!! They teach their students well!!
They all have bright futures in the music world!
The violin in this arrangement made it really special to me.
Her smile at 2:37 was a beautiful moment. Whether it was to a friend off-stage or for the enjoyment of playing the song, doesn't matter, it was just great to see her show an emotion during the performance.
One of the most complex songs to ever learn, they truly pulled it off perfectly!!!
I literally got shivers hearing this. Standing ovation here.
Shows you what happens when generations work together to share wisdom. Great job!
They're having so much fun at the end. They get it!
Just....WOW! Singer did an amazing job.
his voice really made for this track excellent cover guys
Everyone is great! The violin is unique!!! Thank you for a great experience! Kudos to everyone!!!
Yet another superb production from The School of Rock. And lead singer, hell man, make an album, superb singing.
The girl with the violin was super!! :)
I'm in love 💓
I think maybe it's a viola. Looks too large for a violin, and sounds like it's playing in a lower register than I'd expect of a violin.
@@onionsoup6813 I agree, I am pretty sure it is a viola. The dead give-away is how wide the instrument is, and the position of the chin rest. She was a bit nervous at first , it was fun to see her loosen up and have fun
The rock drummer playing the triangle and yelping was the best part for sure
Just keeps getting better and better!

What makes this performance so compelling is how every single member of the ensemble was completely locked into that groove the whole time
The violin player killed it. Good for her!
WOW, the singer has a great voice!

Passing Peter Gabriel to another generation. Excellent!
Best cover I’ve ever heard. The one they did 3 years later not bad but not even close to this. A masterpiece

Sometimes all the world needs is a few sincere, passionate children to show us all the face of God. Mad props to "Triangle Guy/Whooper Guy", too.
You would make Peter Gabriel PROUD!!!! Well done ALL!!!
The smiles on their faces towards the end make me so happy! They are getting into it and jamming!!!
I have watched this 20 times. They're all just fantastic. Listen to it in the dark with earphones, you'll go to another place. Great job for the students and instructors. A real pleasure.
I love this performance so much, somehow it fills me with joy. These young people created a timeless piece of art to hang in the halls of music.
When I'm having a crap day, the SoR kids lift me up. Thank you all for what you do
Brought teas in to my eyes !!! Fantastic band ! All of you guys ! Bravo !
Same here. Gabriel would be proud that these young musicians played his classic song. Now if they could do "Shock The Monkey".
Love to see and hear this music live on. Thanks Peter.
All the School Of Rock videos are good, this one is GREAT!! A+++

Unreal lead vocals here. So much to love out of the entire group but wow, those vocals nailed like I didn’t think a kid could manage.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this version. Thank you
That was stupid good. Man that kid can sing and those musicians killed it!
the moment they realize that they are just killing it
@Mr.Trolls McGee cool, let's see your version then, Mozart
@Trash Man Isn't it a version of the song they're doing? Surely it doesn't have to be the same as the original, does it?

It takes the entire band but the singer, I find, captivating.
Outstanding version of the song that has followed me all my life.
What a truly brilliant performance & production...from top to bottom.
Some of them don't yet know how to hide being nervous. But they don't let that beat them. It's lovely to behold.

School of Rock has adult programs. I'm sixty years old and playing in a heavy metal band. Really fun.
I was sitting here this afternoon thinking the same...if 2nd chances are given in life...please...
You guys should be very proud of yourselves. You did a classic great justice! You're all very talented!
