Thanks for the comparison video. I am trying to choose between these two for contractors working on our house as well as the housekeeper who comes over every other week. I have heard that the Schlage keypad is very hard to see the numbers. Because of that, you end up touching a number that starts the wrong code. I also didn't like that the wi-fi connection was lost several times from your experience. I would probably use the Eufy fingerprint for the family as well as the housekeeper. Then just use the code for the contractors. Or, open it up when I get an alert on my cameras that they have arrived. Decisions, decisions.
Yes very tough choice on both. I love both locks but for me, the eufy wins in battery life, rechargeable battery, fingerprint, and reliability. Downsides with eufy is that you have to hold the lock button for at least 2-3 seconds to lock it( if you have fingerprint enabled, then it locks with one touch which is very convenient), and you have to press the home button first before entering the code. I like the Schlage because you just enter the code and it opens. Eufy did just launch a kickstarter for a new smart lock that also has a camera on it so I backed that campaign. Production should start this summer so sometime at the end of the year, hopefully I’ll receive and review it

I’d go with eufy all the way. My Schlage just took a dump and had to call support to get a new one sent out. Eufy has a new smart lock that also has a doorbell and security camera built in so that’s what I replaced the Schlage with and I love it. Their products just work

Have you looked at the ULTRALOQ U-Bolt s it has locks with all the features, keeps a log of who/when enters the property?
I have not but I can say that both the eufy and Schlage keep a log of entries as well

Can anyone recommend a solid combo front porch light / wifi security camera? This is a better option for me since I can power the cctv over the same as the front door light.
Thanks for the video. Will both these locks work internationally? I have a airbnb in another country and would like to add/remove codes manually as guests book. I will obviously not be close to that wifi, and my current smart lock is unable to add any codes because of that. I'm leaning towards the schlage but will go for whichever one will work best.
Since these are wifi smart locks then they need to be connected to work. That doesn't mean you need to be on wifi to access them, you just need to have access to internet whether that is wifi or your LTE/5g/4g/etc.. The fact that your airbnbs are international shouldn't matter. I've been in Mexico and the Bahamas and still was able to access my locks located in the US. Hope that helps (:
Don't even consider eufy after noticed that it's a Chinese company. When it involves WiFi, app services, finger-pin, and the server is from China, it's very unsafe to use.

I have question: In my properties I installed security card,like in a hotel room. Do you know how could I have both? Smart lock AND security card? Because the guests tend to leave the properties with A/C on...

I don’t see why you would have two one door.
Hi Yanni, maybe you don't need this info... but we use the Emerson Sensi thermostat - connected to wifi and it has an app. You can preset the temp/heat from the app, disable local access, see temp, and also turn off AC from the app.
Hi, pls forgive me if this is a somewhat stupid question, but what should a host do about a back door or patio door? Doubt folks are buying two smart locks per home, so I’m just curious for safety after a guest has checked out.
My reasoning for the front door is for easy guest access. I don’t see the purpose of have one for the back patio. Seems a bit excessive to me but every house is different!

If you want to move away from standard lock boxes and have an easier way to allow guests into your house yes! I don’t see the downside besides having to charge the battery every now and then
which lock is easier to manipulate in terms of codes when sharing it? to erase and delete ?
They’re both very easy to operate. Schlage is nice because it has a template that you can copy and paste with instructions. Where the eufy you just memorize the code and share it. Only complaint is that sometimes my charge app will give me the error when I try to change or share a code. Not often but sometimes in rare occurences

As long as you have some type of internet access you should be fine!

@@HDBnB1 oh that's good to know! Is the eufy lock been good? I'm just looking for a lock that I can use to give different pass codes to my guests with ease. Any different locks you have tried?
Eufy is definitely my first recommendation. And I think they’ll be releasing a new one in the next month that also has a camera installed. I backed the kickstarter project for it so will make a video when I get it
I have the schlage and you can do more than 4 digit codes. I stayed for 4 digit codes because i find it annoying to enter more than 4.
Yes 4 digit is the way to go!
I bought the Eufy smart lock, and it's more terrible for AirBnb than this video lets on. It's most glaring drawback is that it can't schedule a one-time passcode like the Schlage can at all. The Eufy only does permanent or daily schedule passcodes. There is no "Begin this passcode at this time on this begin date, and end this passcode at this time on this end date". Eufy just doesn't do that.

@HDBnB1 I was able to test multiple smart locks since my last comment here, including the Schlage Encode. I'd say the Eufy is the best smartlock for personal use, so I'm keeping one for myself, and the Encode and Kwikset Halo have been the best for AirBnB. It's frustrating that Eufy doesn't have the easier one-time passcodes like the Schlage, because the Eufy C210 is the best deal for a high-quality smartlock at $100. That's the one I'm using personally now.

It’s just the Schlage encode. Not the one compatible with apple HomeKit though I’m sure that one is better
One is made by a reputable company making security products for over 100 years, the other is a Eufy.

@@HDBnB1 yes if someone wanna break in they are only thinging how fast can I get in and out, that's maximum 5 minutes in the house too look around, so the lock must be strong, smart is less important but still the bolt is smart enough.
Hey , I hope I can help someone here , I have a total of 10 Schlage keypads , and in the past few months , a total of 6 have stop working . They have worked amazing for the past 2 years , however now I have a total of $700 worth of keypads that does not work anymore
That’s unfortunate to hear. My replacement one is still working fine fingers crossed but moving forward, I’ll be sticking with the eufy. Rechargeable batteries and reliability is big enough for me. However I did see that Schlage released an updated encode that works with apple HomeKit. Maybe that’s a bit better? Eufy also released a kickstarter with a new smart lock similar to the one I have but has a built in camera as well. Combing your smart doorbell with smart lock.
I purchased the Eufy and a year later the battery won't hold its charge
I wish Eufy sold the battery pack separately. I don’t want to wait around to charge and rather have a back up ready on hand.
Do either allow a folder system/multiple locations if you have locks at various properties?
That would be a great idea actually. Hopefully they can start selling them. The UI recently did change from what it used to look like previously and it looks like it’s in beta so they’re going to keep updated it but no folder structure. Seeing I only have 2 eufy locks currently I just name them whatever property it’s at. But this could get messy if you have different state properties or different county properties where you’d want them grouped togeteher
I just charge mine when it's low right before bed, wake up and I'm good to put it back.
@@cdi9380 yea great if its for your personal home but for rentals it can be tough when you have guests checking in and out
@@HDBnB1 in that instance of a rental you can also have the same rechargeable battery pack made. Pretty affordable too.
