Great series, but I'm having immense difficulty with the error percentages at 11:45? Is there any way someone can clarify what they're relative to/reproduce those results? I know it's trivial, but it's really bothering me.
Good lecture. It's true with the piano since every key is attached to a different string you have to tune different for each "major key" to play in true temperament but for example symmetrical instruments like guitar, the ratio is achievable with tweaking the frets.
He explained this clearly in the video but let me explain a different way. Each 1% is 1/100th the distance between each equitempered semitone. In this way, the difference between 3:2 and 2^(7/12) is 1.9% of a semitone. His figures are correct.

Could somebody share with me how he calculated the percent error?

There's a lot of music history errors. That's no the point though.
That was very helpful. Thank you.
I'm pretty sure your percent errors are off by an order of magnitude.
Yeah, that's not %error or %difference. Maybe the calculator was set for radians instead of degrees :-P

I love the 7th 💕
Hello, good video!
I would really love to hear your opinion of the math, when changing A = 440hz to A = 432hz
I feel you will be quite surprised.
The math is the same, you just don't wind up with as many round numbers.
It wouldn't make a meaningful difference.
It doesnt matter
Me to its a sacrade frequency. A lot didnt know it
