Fun video! What are your plans for the hand dyed yarn? My husband dyes wool yarn. He has the whole set up, he dyes the yarn, turns it into hank but also has a swift and ball winder. He loves to knit with wool but I mostly use acrylic. I feel like my target audience wants the easy washability of acrylic but I love how gorgeous my husband's yarn is! I've been trying to think of a way to incorporate the Superwash merino and maybe offer my customers the choice between wool or acrylic.
I had this on my wish list, along with a ball winder. I got 2 ball winders, one from my husband and one from my daughter, who forgot to tell each other what they bought, lol. I want to get a swift, so badly, I will have to check the link to see which one she got, I looked on Amazon for good prices but yet sturdy winders. They have an Amish one that sets on the table that I thought would be good as well. Thanks so much for the video, and yes, I would love to know what the 2nd use is for a swift. I may need to tell hubby to justify using some of my "Covid" money for it. It is a business expense since I started to dye yarn (just 2 hanks so far, but there will be more,lol) and I get my knit picks every month. I have quite a few hanks to wind up, and the winder is great, but finding a way to keep the hanks from knotting together like a necklace of fine chains, is very hard to do. Thanks again. Lol....I too have done the "door knob" method. Thank you, I have never used a yarn swift but would definitely consider one now.
