Damn. Even Isaac's voice grew with his character development. Not a lot but... here, it sounds clipped. Obedient. Barely composed and stilted. He's intelligent and poised, but clipped and to the point. The anger is just under the surface and his disdain is clear. When he talks in season 4 though, he sounds at peace. He takes his time. He's relaxed and poised, and ready to listen and share his opinions. He's leading, not serving anymore. And though he respects Dracula and loves him still, he's outgrown being his loyal servant or disciple. What I'm saying is every single part of Isaac and his character growth is amazing.
I remember when I saw this at first I thought, Godbrand like Isaac. Not in a romantic way but respected him seeing as he seen to dislike him hurting himself and was showing concern.
At first I thought "Why kill an ally during war, Isaac?" Then I remembered, Godbrand planned to betray Dracula, so he was no ally. Isaac's strength of character is such that at a moments notice he is willing to personally cut off dead wood when he sees it without hesitation. Impressive.

Great plan , Godbrand. Let's tell the loyal, and unassuming guy who casually does self-flagellation that you plan to betray Dracula and then turn your back on him. What could possibly go wrong? Honestly how did Godbrand survive for so long?
Because like all the generals, they were big fish in small ponds. They never went up against people like the Belmont or Isaac. They're used to attacking scared and ignorant villagers.
I wish Isaac came out and told the generals he killed Godbrand because he was talking of betraying Dracula, imagine their and Carmillas face when they realize Draculas forgemasters can kill the generals if they act up.
Issac never raises his voice, (save a hint of anger towards Alucard), only furthers his brutality to secure the kill, and straight up looks a man in the eyes as he dies (which sets them both on fire). It's the eerily calm, professional way that Issac acts in this scene that makes him more of a monster than Godbrand.
Godbrand somehow said to himself, "Isaac, he's a good person to bring on board with this. I mean, he never talks to anyone and does everything Dracula tells him to without question. I'm so smart, I bet no one else could think of this, since there's no way he'd ever betray Dracula, he's the one person Dracula would never expect. Big brain moves, that's why I'm better than the other vampires!"
Heavy John Wick vibes. Focus, intent and a cold indifference to pain. Not sure if being a devil forgemaster imbues him with additional strength, but he just killed a viking vampire, with a hand scourge. Moment, action and no hesitation.
One can feel something akin to sympathy for Godbrand. He was loyal, aware of and respectful to those who possessed superior logic and/or strength, and even showed some semblance of sympathy to Carmilla. A guy like that deserves a better death than...this. He died here because he lacked judgment of character, but, in his defense, so does most of the cast, whether by virtue of being uncaring or simply lacking the experience. Both of the Forgemasters, Carmilla, Dracula, and Alucard come to mind, here.
later on, Isacc scatters Godbrand's ashes on a tower. (I assume) It is a form of last respect. (But he throw his brooch right after that). Yes, Godbrand is respectful and care for others.
Godbrand was actually cool and he had no ambition to take down Dracula or even betrayed him. He just wanted to be able to feed on human and to keep living forever as a vampire. @@BadEnglicInc I think the point still stands that the one that taunted, disrespected and planed to betray her "boss" never had so much has a hand raised against her before the coup were Godbrand for better or worse got the short end of the stick for lesser things. Really Godbrand should've just taken his forces and gone rouge by this point rather than talking to Isaac. I get that he can't read people, but still, he can see that Dracula is just letting himself waste away, he doesn't care about anything anymore. If this did happen, it'd be cool to see Trevor, Sypha, and Alucard hunting down Godbrand and his forces as they marched back up north to Scandinavia or something, carving a bloody path through Eastern Europe while they plan to live in the Nordyggen mountains, or whatever they were called then.
The council as a whole really underestimated forgemasters in general. I guess there aren't that many of them but I figured at least some of them would have at least met one or two within their lifetimes. Forgemasters seem even less human than vampires, vampires just want to feed and live on. Forgemasters seek death Dracula seemed to know all about them at least
Godbrand was right with everything. Dracula was on a suicide mission, he admits it further down the storyline. So Godbrand in the end was right, but it didnt help him.
Do you guys think a fight scene between him and Trevor would be badass? Viking vs Vampire Hunter honestly I would have loved to see what he would have done against the Morning Star or Just get into a slug fest with Trevor.
@@thibautisserant He wasn't really being an asshole about it, if you look at how Godbrand talked, he always spoke in a suggestive manner. He doesn't speak in pressure like Carmilla or the rest does, he always talk in a way that let's you think. The "you get it, right?" way of talking.
We're all talking about how easily Isaac puts down Godbrand(rightfully so, Godbrand really doesn't up much of a fight for being a superhuman predator), but I wanna draw attention to a particular, throw away line here. Godbrand states that "Alucard knows almost as much as Dracula, and he's almost as strong!" In response to Isaac stating that "Alucard is nothing, a spoiled child." Later on, when you see the trio fighting Dracula in his castle, you see that is CLEARLY not the case. True, Alucard is basically the only one actually doing any damage to Dracula at all, but Dracula is still unquestionably dominating the fight. Later on, when he lets loose, just a *tiny* bit, he absolutely mops the floor with Alucard. Not even Alucard's super speed is much help. Bro gets caught by the face and slammed into the ground. Godbrand is so, so far below BOTH OF THESE, that the strength gap between Alucard and Dracula doesn't even really factor in for him. They could both turn him into a grease stian on the ground, and yet right after, he claims they could strong arm Dracula. This shows you just how much of a fucking dumbass Godbrand really was. He was so horrifically out of his depth that Alucard and Dracula seemed to be on the same vague powerlevel to him, and yet, he somehow thinks he can strongarm Dracula without being annihilated on the spot. Even if Isaac hadn't killed him here, Godbrand would probably have been the first to die amongst Dracula's generals. Either by being slaughtered by the trio or by Dracula himself.
It was stupid for Isaac to be able to kill a centuries old ultra strong vampire. But it's netflix and diverse characters are legally not allowed to lose or be portrayed negatively.

People who complain about Godbrand dying here need to understand how good surprise attacks are, especially if they're lethal. The adrenaline coursing through your body and the shock makes you either freeze up completely or mindlessly thrash around. Isaac isn't a slouch either, in a straight up fight I'd give it to Godbrand but a good ambush changes things on a big scale.

You see a violent, skillful takedown of a brawler of a vampire. Only to watch the better combatant sit on a pole in the wind throwing out the ashes of the defeated warrior. God this show is good.
I find it so satisfying that a human was dogging a vampire. You can tell that godbrand hated every moment of it, even (or especially) as he was burning that he was being beaten by a human.
Nobody talking about how this scene revealed just how strong Issac is. We’d seen moments where Godbrand took on fully armed human soldiers like they were nothing. He was laughing at the thrill of it. Issac is human, yet he is able to easily overpower, outmaneuver, and kill a higher vampire in a matter of seconds. He’s absolutely terrifying.
remember Isaac is a magician as well, he knew his limits, he knew he had to subdue Godbrand quickly in order to stab him with his dagger and cut his soul from the world, or else Godbrand would most likely heal those wounds
Honestly, this could easily be the start of Isaac's journey to Season 4 redemption. How he says "... the corruption of the world has made it's way into Dracula's court". He believed that Dracula's court protected him from the cruelty of humanity. That vampires and Dracula in particular deserve to destroy humanity for the human's atrocities. But Godbrand's betrayal and Carmilla's entire personality prove that Human's do not own cruelty and ambition. This starts Isaac's journey of learning that it is the world that is cruel and not a specific species. He begins rebuilding the world in the last season to make it a better place for everyone instead of destroying everything as his original plan.
I dont know why but something in this scene gives me the shivers, its really terrifying. Godbrands inability to defeat Isaac, how out of nowhere under a minute things got unexpectedly 360° for Godbrand. And how from the start of battle it was clear hes not gonna make it.
0:46 Dracula wants that It’s his suicide and anger He wants to lash out and attract something to kill him. You and your vampires buddys are kinda like a test. If they can ge through you then they can maybe kill Dracula
Godbrand's last error was deciding to try to stop Isaac by clawing at his back. that's literally the dumbest area that he could have clawed at since Isaac claws at his own back regularly, and therefore is just used to the pain of having a riped open back. Godbrand could have just stabbed his hands through Isaacs heart or another vital organ instead. What a stupid final decision
@Tom Ford because of Godbrands stupidity, yes. If he had some intelligence though, he could have beaten Isaac. To be fair Godbrand was also bleeding out pretty badly from a neck wound. Even for a vampire he probably wasn't able to think clearly and was reacting mostly by instinct.
@@NicoBlack69 That's a fair point.
@@Holly-khore-levina That's really the only excuse that makes any sense to me aside from Godbrand underestimating Isaac even as he's dying.
Isaac's stab was only a shortcut to end him. He was already finished the moment Isaac ripped his neck artery
When Isaac stopped whipping him I was like, “Well this is the last time we’re ever seeing Godbrand.”
Its edited to be sped up and higher pitched in this video
@@jakegray1723They weren't talking about how high his voice was, but the way he spoke.
I remember when I saw this at first I thought, Godbrand like Isaac. Not in a romantic way but respected him seeing as he seen to dislike him hurting himself and was showing concern.
More like put off
Like “what the fuck is wrong with this human shit”
I’m sure he was unnerved by isaacs ritual
@@kurovisuals4272 yeah
@@kurovisuals4272 I bet isaac wouldn't of been screaming like Godbrand was if Godbrand decided to flay him
At first I thought "Why kill an ally during war, Isaac?"
Then I remembered, Godbrand planned to betray Dracula, so he was no ally. Isaac's strength of character is such that at a moments notice he is willing to personally cut off dead wood when he sees it without hesitation. Impressive.
Brother only I think Isaac just didn't lose to Goldbrand because he was too stupid? he could have easily ripped his throat out there
@@Ojimandiasuwho cares?
Isaac was correct to act swiftly. He did not know what the extent of his betrayal was, but he DID know that he was planning to subvert Dracula. Better sooner than later.
A depressed vampire is in no condition to lead armies, so of course someone was going to ask Dracula to sit this one out
@@Ojimandiasuhe was literally caught off guard and losing a lot of blood besides Isaac managed to dodge most of his attacks even if he tried that he would still dodged it
Godbrand wasnt even treasonous. Ya'll wearin those rose tinted glasses whenever Isaac is involved. Dracula is clearly pulling off the worlds biggest temper tantrum, and Godbrand is seemingly the only one part of the vampire camp trying to make a cohesive coalition, and salvage the dumpster fire going on.
fuckin agreed! I was disappointed that he died. He had alot of potential for development. But yeah godbrand learn to read the room fool! lol
Yep
Despite his reputation of being an idiot he actually kind of was the smartest of the bunch
Was first to see what was really happening and coming up with solutions
His only real flaw was assuming Isaac would see the reason to his argument.
And let's be fair
He had a very reasonable argument
@@froggyslice6943 Nah it was Carmilla that was pulling the strings obviously. He was part of the group that wanted to stop Dracula that's true, but he simply wasn't too smart.
Issac loyal to Dracula no matter what godbrand showed up on Draculas call should have stayed home clearly.
isaac is a lot more scarier than other
castlevania characters because of his
sharp mind and loyalty to drac.
Godbrand was entirely right. But man, does he wish he was talking to Season 4 Isaac instead.
Isaac vs Godbrand: 2/10 difficulty.
Isaac vs Carmilla: 9/10 difficulty.
I don't think that he got weaker in season 4, its carmila that its way more powerfull than godbrand
@@mirkurjirkokhsd1897 agreed. Carmilla is way stronger than Godbrand. Why do you think he never fought back when she bullied him.
@@mirkurjirkokhsd1897 I didn't say he got weaker, just that she was a more difficult opponent. Hell, I didn't even say that Godbrand was weak. Judging by the teleporting vampire on his crew, he was a leader of some powerful people.
@@deshawnsanders8406 carmilla made a big showing of her being a “regional ruler” but she sure fucking seemed to have quite the army to her name
It was a surprise attack for godbrand while carmilla was prepared.
Great plan , Godbrand. Let's tell the loyal, and unassuming guy who casually does self-flagellation that you plan to betray
Dracula and then turn your back on him. What could possibly go wrong?
Honestly how did Godbrand survive for so long?
Because like all the generals, they were big fish in small ponds. They never went up against people like the Belmont or Isaac. They're used to attacking scared and ignorant villagers.
In a world full of monsters, demons, vampires etc, isaac is the most terrifying thing in this show
_In a world full of monsters and demons_ 🎶 _June is the only one who sees them_ 🎶
The way he killed him though 😂😭😭😭
I wish Isaac came out and told the generals he killed Godbrand because he was talking of betraying Dracula, imagine their and Carmillas face when they realize Draculas forgemasters can kill the generals if they act up.
Issac never raises his voice, (save a hint of anger towards Alucard), only furthers his brutality to secure the kill, and straight up looks a man in the eyes as he dies (which sets them both on fire). It's the eerily calm, professional way that Issac acts in this scene that makes him more of a monster than Godbrand.
Godbrand somehow said to himself,
"Isaac, he's a good person to bring on board with this. I mean, he never talks to anyone and does everything Dracula tells him to without question. I'm so smart, I bet no one else could think of this, since there's no way he'd ever betray Dracula, he's the one person Dracula would never expect. Big brain moves, that's why I'm better than the other vampires!"
Godbrand failed to convince Isaac to betray Dracula, making him tonight's biggest loser
😂😂😂
When I first watched this episode I remember saying, "holy shit!!" When Isaac ripped his throat out. Damn this series is amazing
Heavy John Wick vibes. Focus, intent and a cold indifference to pain.
Not sure if being a devil forgemaster imbues him with additional strength, but he just killed a viking vampire, with a hand scourge. Moment, action and no hesitation.
Read the room Godbrand.........talk betrayal to a man that preach purity 🤦🏽♂️
I cannot stress enough the godly work of animators... Every hit, every word... Fantastic job.
Carmila on the other hand was a disrespectful entitled bitch who taunted Dracula, disrespected him and tried to take him down. Godbrand was the one who got chewed on by Dracula, threatened, humiliated and killed this easily while carmila got away with everything.
@@rayleigh8 you should watch the final season :P
@@BadEnglicInc I think the point still stands that the one that taunted, disrespected and planed to betray her "boss" never had so much has a hand raised against her before the coup were Godbrand for better or worse got the short end of the stick for lesser things.
At best its a "we couldn't have her be the villain of seasons 2 to 4 if Dracula/other character ripped her neck out" scenario
My boy issac took godbrand words to an offense😅
The council as a whole really underestimated forgemasters in general. I guess there aren't that many of them but I figured at least some of them would have at least met one or two within their lifetimes. Forgemasters seem even less human than vampires, vampires just want to feed and live on. Forgemasters seek death
Dracula seemed to know all about them at least
I absolutely love Isaac in the show, cool character.
Godbrand was right with everything. Dracula was on a suicide mission, he admits it further down the storyline. So Godbrand in the end was right, but it didnt help him.
Thanks to Alucard, he also helped proved Godbrand point about the suicide mission. 🤔
Do you guys think a fight scene between him and Trevor would be badass? Viking vs Vampire Hunter honestly I would have loved to see what he would have done against the Morning Star or Just get into a slug fest with Trevor.
@@zombieexecutioner2560 he wouldn’t last very long tbh.
As pointed out in Rick & Morty : "Being right doesn't mean you should be an asshole about it. Because then no one wants to give you the satisfaction."
@@thibautisserant
He wasn't really being an asshole about it, if you look at how Godbrand talked, he always spoke in a suggestive manner.
He doesn't speak in pressure like Carmilla or the rest does, he always talk in a way that let's you think. The "you get it, right?" way of talking.
This was why Carmella focused on Hector. Isaac would have killed her much sooner at hinting on betrayal to him
Put it at .75x speed and it will sound normal lol
Isaac is one of my favorites.
He is quite wise.
We're all talking about how easily Isaac puts down Godbrand(rightfully so, Godbrand really doesn't up much of a fight for being a superhuman predator), but I wanna draw attention to a particular, throw away line here.
Godbrand states that "Alucard knows almost as much as Dracula, and he's almost as strong!" In response to Isaac stating that "Alucard is nothing, a spoiled child."
Later on, when you see the trio fighting Dracula in his castle, you see that is CLEARLY not the case.

My favorite character, what a beast Isaac was
People who complain about Godbrand dying here need to understand how good surprise attacks are, especially if they're lethal. The adrenaline coursing through your body and the shock makes you either freeze up completely or mindlessly thrash around. Isaac isn't a slouch either, in a straight up fight I'd give it to Godbrand but a good ambush changes things on a big scale.
Trust me Dracula knew Isaac killed Godbrand after awhile hes like the ultimate detective with immense intelligence hes a super being , im shore he smell Isaac had been there and knew why he killed him too, just imagine Dracula in his long life has great experience with followers like Isaac that cant be brought so he knew immediately why he killed Godbrand
You see a violent, skillful takedown of a brawler of a vampire. Only to watch the better combatant sit on a pole in the wind throwing out the ashes of the defeated warrior. God this show is good.
Dracula: don't worry godbrand you will be taken care of........
By Isaac
I find it so satisfying that a human was dogging a vampire. You can tell that godbrand hated every moment of it, even (or especially) as he was burning that he was being beaten by a human.
His death is so quick it reminds me of QTE fuck ups in video games
When Godbrand realized Humans are more Viscous than Vampires
2:05 "Issac doesn't even blink when all that blood splatters his face."
1:35 these words are what got him killed
this was the exact moment I said to myself: "This Isaac dude is COLD AS FUCK!!" No discussion, no nothing. You betray Dracula, you die, NOW.
Very smart of godbrand to talk about betraying dracula to the man whipping himself and talking about devotion and mental fortitude
I like how you can even hear the difference in his speech. He speaks much sharper and with an underlying anger until he finds his peace.
To this day, Godbrand's death is one of the coolest ones I've e seen
Isaac just *DANCED* around Godbrand and then murked him.
The animation is fantastic in this show.
He actually was making a point until that last line,
Godbrand told the wrong person😂
I dont know why but something in this scene gives me the shivers, its really terrifying. Godbrands inability to defeat Isaac, how out of nowhere under a minute things got unexpectedly 360° for Godbrand. And how from the start of battle it was clear hes not gonna make it.
You mean 180?
360 is a full circle.
Isaac fights with such poise. He always seems to look proper, even when tearing someone’s throat out with a spiked strap. It’s really fun to watch.
I loved the whole scene, but what I loved most was Isaac is doing this in LEATHER BOOTS. THIGH-HIGH LEATHER BOOTS.
Dracula dressed his best people with style 👌
That death stare as he burns to hell made Godbrand understand humans can be dangerous as well.
Man the vampires in the netflix Castlevania are easy to take out. This would have never happened in the Original continuity or Reboot continuiry
That last smack of his belt before he beat him with his fist was delivered with so much grace, it almost seemed personal.
Can't believe Isaac handle it easily. Hector can't fight like Isaac does on the animation 😅
One big difference between Hector and Issac: Hector gets thrashed by Vampires while Issac thrashes them
"This is holy work."
Translation: "I am holding a holy weapon and you are a vampire. Tread. Lightly."
This scene is better than the entire yasuke
Man I really wanted to like Yasuke too, they should of kept it grounded. The sound track was sick tho
Godbrand: I think I wanna choose to betray dracula.
Isaac: I think you chose death my boi.
Gawd imma end up binge watching this again 😂
I came just to be reminded ... how amazing this character was.
Say what you will about Godbrand, he ended being right about EVERYTHING in the end
"And they hated him, for he spoke the truth."
0:46 Dracula wants that
It’s his suicide and anger
He wants to lash out and attract something to kill him.
You and your vampires buddys are kinda like a test. If they can ge through you then they can maybe kill Dracula
Isaac knew in that in a fair fight he was no match Godbrand so he took him by surprise while his back was turned
If anyone is curious why the voices sound higher pitched they did that to avoid a copyright strike
He took him out like he was nothing, it truly surprised me how strong Isaac was by himself. Even if the death was a lil disappointingly sudden

Kinda sad Godbrand died. I enjoyed his banter
Hands down the best and deepest character in the series.
I was sad to see Godbrand go, I was hoping to see him and Trevor throw down, would’ve at least made for some interesting dialogue
Trevor would've whooped the shit outta Godbrand lmao, would've been kinda fun to see
1:50 to 2:07 reminded me of those old computer flash games I played as a child.
Bruh really tried clawing a guy in the back that stabs himself in the back eveyday lol
Particularly since he's a vampire and Isaac is a human, and vampires are generally more powerful than humans. Unless we're talking about Belmont's and the unchecked power of speaker magicians
@Tom Ford thank you for that well thought out response
Technically it's not called clawing is called self-flagellation or just self whipping
Isaac was such a g. His story and character are very brutal and badass
When you don’t have enough charisma points
And this moment right here was the one that solidified Isaac as my favorite character in the entire first 3 seasons of the show.
That Peter Stormare gets to do Voice for a Vampire is Kinda cool
On godbrand's defence even I wouldn't expect my meal to kill me violently after I turn my back on it
I don’t know but, discussing plans for mutiny with the most loyal member of Dracula’s court, doesn’t seem like the best idea…
