This was it for me too. All the excited reactions happening all at once in the moment.
I clocked into work an hour ago, right as it was happening. Thought I was going blind cuz it was getting really dark. HR comes out to the floor and I explained my concerns. He laughed and said the eclipse was happening. He pulled out hos special glasses and told me to stop working and go take a look.
It was definitely a thing of all time. Very whelming.

This is how you know a society is disenchanted, when a society would rather sit on a couch and watch the special astronomical event on TikTok with Family Guy clips under it, rather than being outside, sacrificing the scapegoat with the community.

Man carried the moon into eclipse
my eclipse viewing experience started as me watching the magical event unfold before my eyes, before being distracted by the people on the street below me, who lit a firework which flew almost directly into their neighbour's house. The majesty of the moment overtook me as I watched them laugh it off before realizing how close they had come to being a street party illegally setting off fireworks and burning their neighbour's house down. Then a dude said "wow, so fucking cool" and we all returned to the moon sun thing, which was pretty cool I guess.

i was also in the exact path of totality, but the weather basically blocked the eclipse to the point that it was completely safe to just look up at the sky without glasses, literally just clouds lmfao
It was cloudy off and on, but during totality it was pretty much completely clear. Made my whole month
In my school, we went all outside to see the eclipse and the moment I put on my glasses I felt that exact feeling you mentioned. A feeling accomplishment, glory, pride.
The side effects are throbbing headaches and yelling students.
Truly an eclipse moment.🙂
When I was in the 3rd grade, we had went outside to see the eclipse, when I put my glasses on I could see that the sun was shaped like a moon but I didn’t think anything of it (I thought it was normal), so I was like “I don’t see it!” And my friends are like “HOW DO YOU NOT SEE IT” lol
Seeing the shadows and the sliver was cool and all but was really cool for me was just seeing how many people were outside. Never seen more people on central campus in my life. It was a lot of fun to just enjoy it together.

I loved watching the thunderstorm that had already been going on for hours turn into a slightly darker thunderstorm for about half an hour.
I was lucky enough to see the totality and jokes aside it was pretty cool. There were bats flying. Birds in migration. It became extremely cold. The street lights went on. And there was a moment where you didn't need your glasses (the clouds actually helped with the brightness) and the total eclipse was spectacular
The partial totality and the slow approach of the moon made me feel so small but also a big part of an event so many people were experiencing at once. Solid 7.88924 out of 10 experience cuz no one understood me playing the Berserek soundtrack.
I saw a streamer in NYC stand staring at the sun for an hour in sunglasses
He’s not the brightest tool in the shed but he’s got the spirit
There are Eclipse glasses that look a bit like sunglasses. If the streamer was genuinely just wearing sunglasses, they are now blind.
I’m a college student and I experienced the one moment where people went outside and hung out in one location. Now I have to shuffle back to my homework
This is the first time I felt so compelled to share a youtube video IMMEDIATELY after watching
I got a lot of nice pictures but the video I took of the totality, just as everything quickly went super dark, did not do it justice at all. It still looks like it's daytime in the video (kind of just like it got covered in a bit of shade) , despite it being pretty dark irl.
I didn't realize just how bright the sun is until the eclipse. More than 90% of it was covered, but it just seemed like a slightly overcast day
I can relate. The overhead involved with going outside is unbearable. The pandemic taught me that not going outside is an option, and since then I decided to abstain from the outside world.
POV: This is how you just experienced this generational event
Had 58% coverage. Had a free pair of those special glasses. And you know what, it was pretty neat. Looked like the moon, but during the day. Imagine that.
Florida?
A partial is neat. A totality is unbelievable. Put it on your bucket list.
I was at a schoolish thing for homeschooled people and we were all outside, and a bunch of people brought eclipse glasses and we watched it. it got up to like 90% before it started ending. really cool.
I didn't even watch this video, I just watched the silent preview with subtitles
I just had clouds
Bro same 😂
Same 😭
Same, but it was translucent enough that I could still see the ring without glasses, so that was kinda cool
I was lucky there was a hole in the clouds just before totality ended that I was able to see the eclipse through.
I was in part of the total eclipse zone, I wasn't even excited for it but it was genuinely amazing.
I got a glimpse of it between two clouds for like 4 seconds but it was cool
I can't believe how fast he recorded, edited, and uploaded this after the eclipse, the legend
I was in a zone where it was 97% covered. Nobody could tell the difference without the glasses.
I've seen a 97% and a 100% now and the difference was unbelievable
98 for me was a big difference. All the streetlights came on and it was really dim even without clouds. As soon as that 1 minute was over everyone in the crowd left lol
the difference is insane! we underestimate the brightness of our sun
my area was 99.2% and like 30 minutes before the peak i was like, "eh, this isn't shit, it just looks like it's cloudy" but then the peak hit and it was pretty weird how dark it got, genuinely.
Because 3% of the sun is still extremely bright. People tend to miss the fact that you won’t experience the “life changing” moment unless you’re under the 100% path of totality. If you’re that close though you should travel to see it.
My principal bought everyone the glasses and we all went outside during school even though it wasnt in the full eclipse area and it was still really cool
I was in the total eclipse path and it was super cool. Day turned to night quick and the Eclipse was so lit to see, I live in a very windy/cloudy/rainy area but it just went away the night before and everyone I knew got to enjoy it.
POV: your school made you talk about the eclipse but not actually experience it 💀💀
Man carrying my life because this just happened
The absolute legend, he never eclipses!
As soon as it was total, you could look at it no problem. It looked like sunrise/set in the sky. Black moon with white ring of light was sick to see. Glad my grandpa got to see it.
From someone who was in the direct line of the eclipse, had glasses, perfect weather, and was in the country for it, it was truly magical and I am so sad that some people just didn’t give a shit to go outside for it lol
I love feeling that feeling that everyone feels during feely times like these
I was in the path of totality, luckily I lived there so I didn't need to travel. It was cloudy, which was unfortunate, but it was still REALLY cool. At first it felt a bit like a sunset, but then it started dimming REALLY fast, literally as if someone was operating a dimmer, rapidly getting dark. When it got completely dark, yet still bright across the horizon, it was insane, the birds in the area were freaking out and making a ton of noise, and I was absolutely mesmerized by seeing a completely black cloud set against a bright horizon in the distance. The only thing I can describe it as was sort of like the twilight sections from Zelda: Twilight Princess, but much darker (I know it's a nerdy analogy but it's the only thing I could think of)
Totality is unlike anything you can ever experience. It was awesome in every true sense of the word.
Add a third person to the mix, me excitedly trying to explain astronomy facts to those around me while nobody else cares, then this is biographical.
I bought an Eclipse T-shirt and the Sunglasses and when I was lying in a local field to watch it
people were looking at me like I was a weirdo as they were going to class. Fools!
First post-eclipse video I've seen... Also, I'm surprised there isn't more Berzerk eclipse memes
I love that the video just ends, no last second joke or cutoff gag.

I got drunk with friends in a hotel room in Terrell Texas and witnessed it. It was pretty fucking awesome, you had to be there
I actually was on the path of total eclipse and went out on a pier to experience it and it was absolutely mesmerizing. It beautifully drifted across the horizon and bounced upon the water and was an utter spectacle. A very fun eclipse indeed.
I was lucky to experience it right at home. I was also lucky because, like most places it seems, its pretty cloudy today. The clouds cleared up literally just long enough for my neighborhood to witness it. It was kind of magical. All the shadows disappeared, but there was still some light. It was like dusk for a few minutes. It was beautiful.
I can definitely see why people from hundreds of years ago would freak out, though.
It truly was one of the most impactful and awe inspiring things ive ever witnessed. I didnt expect it to be so majestic
I live in MA, it was something like 93% for me. It looked like it was a few hours later in the day and the temp dropped 8 degrees. I had the glasses, it was like a crescent sun.
I was in the direct path and I stepped out for like 15 seconds, it was too cloudy to see anything, and realized I don’t care enough anyway
Fuckin right on time, thank you Man!!
He never misses!
I live in Québec (province) and the moon nearly covered the sun, there was just a sliver of sunlight showing and it did get darker. Looks really good with the right glasses!
Same, I travelled the whole day to Saint George, I am completely exhausted rn but it was totally worth it!
My workplace was near totality and stopped work for a while to go outside. It was actually pretty neat, seeing everything go from bright afternoon to late evening lighting and back again, plus seeing the sun and moon going all "Watch Heroes on NBC" during that time.
Depending on how old you are... in 2045 if you are still alive. You have to go out of your way see totality, the difference between 99.999% and 100% is like night and day, literally.
I feel bad for everyone who was in the upper 90% totality range and didn't make the drive to get to 100%. It's an unforgettable experience. It's too bad about the weather though :( 2017 I had clear skies in Oregon and I thought I was on another planet in another time for a few minutes.
If you've seen the sun get blocked out by clouds...congratulations, you've seen an eclipse.
I was not in the path of totality but eclipses just make my happy. I enjoy thinking about the sun and moon and having them on other people's minds
I especially liked how many people were off their phones outside, looking at the sky in general(it was cloudy, the sun wasn't usually visible) and just talking to each other. People were much more aware of the world around them. It was lovely
I was in the path of totality, and there was a giant cloud that completely obscured the sun from the moment totality began until right after it ended.
Was pretty upsetting overall but got to see the ring peeking through a little bit at least, it was really cool still.

There was an eclipse? I also relate to your feelings that you are feeling right now. Thank you. Yes
Yall actually should've been there to experience it. Watching as the sun slowly shrinks into but a thin line as the moon covers it, noticing the sky get darker and darker, and the breeze coming in in small portions was so fascinating and its just astonishing that we live in an era where we can even experience an astronomical event as big as this.

You think that's bad, you should hear about Guillaume Le Gentil's experience trying to see the transit of Venus
@@ProsecutorZekromwhat happened
@@yangliu6901 I think that is the guy who traveled top india (or somewhere idk) and waited there for 8 years just for it to be cloudy
@@yangliu6901 He sailed for India to see the transit that would happen in 1761, but got delayed due to the 7 years war between France and Britain, stuck on the Isle de France (now Mauritius), then set off again but got blown off course and spent five weeks at sea, only to discover that the British had occupied the city he was heading to Pondicherry, so had to sail back to Isle de France, then the transit happened while he was at sea so he couldn’t take any astronomical observations due to the ship’s movements. Transits of Venus happen in pairs 8 years apart every 121 or 105 years, so he decided since he was already so far from France that he would stay for the next 8 years to see the second one in the pair. He went to Pondicherry (which had returned to French rule by peace treaty in 1963) after doing other stuff in places in the general area such as Madagascar, arriving in March 1768. By 4th June 1769, he had spend about 8 years away from his home, waiting for the transit. This was it, the big night… it was cloudy.
The story doesn’t end there though. After a miserable trip home filled with storms, hardships and dysentery, he arrived home in Paris in October 1771, 2 years after missing the second transit and 11 years after he first left Paris. However, it had turned out that every letter he had sent to his home country, whether it be to his wife, his family or the Royal Academy of Sciences, had failed to reach his destination, and thus during the 11 year interim he had been presumed dead, and thus his wife had remarried, his possessions and assets taken by eager relatives, and his position at the Academy given to another person!
