Its burning oil at wot, I wouldn’t be to worried about the rings if its not smoking at idle or normal driving. Definitely do a compression then leak down test, if that all checks out, I would be checking the driver side valve cover for the most up to date revision valve cover by gm or updating the valve covers to some with a better baffling system. Some revision valve covers let excess oil pass the the pcv vent and it will oil soak the inside of the intake manifold. Check the valve cover and add an oil catch can set up. The valve cover should have good enough baffling to stop oil spray from getting completely into the pcv, adding an oil catch can will then grab any little mix of oil and air in the system to then in turn keep that manifold dry and get rid of the burning oil. Ive been on the LS platform for 6 years in my 2009 Pontiac g8 gt with a heavily modded setup . LS’s love to burn oil, and this is a sure way to stop it. Also, Without the correct baffling system and adding a catch can wont solve the issue either because it will fill the oil catch can completely up on every or every other drive, which then turns into a bigger issue. Keeping the oil in the engine to recirculate is key. Im not saying this is 100% your issue but it is an issue for 90% of LS engines. Correct. Intake manifold probably loaded with oil, normal driving wont suck the oil out of it so doesnt smoke, at WOT all that airflow is pulling the oil into intake valves along with air causing it to smoke. Clean out the intake manifold

A leak down test would be ideal after the compression test
So i thought leak down test and compression tests were the same thing. What’s the difference?
@@keithlakeman5337 compression tests are just the peak pressure made by cranking the engine over a few times, a leak down test is where you add air to the cylinder and hold it for a certain period of time, essentially to verify hey, it's not leaking anywhere

Do a leak down, tell you all you need to know. Also there are very special instructions on how to change and check the oil on a dry sump system. Over full will cause oil burning.
So a 10 year old GS is slightly faster or dead even with a 2024 Mustang. I would think the new Mustangs would be much faster with the tech today. The GS has what 436hp?

I’d try pulling the intake off of the motor first. Clean it out pull all the pcv lines and clean those too. Considering it was overfilled I’m willing to bet there’s oil pooled up in the intake. Good luck with the car hopefully it’s something simple!
Based on the oil jug when you bought the car I’m only guessing it may or may not have oil consumption issues but I’m no mechanic 😂

Could be the piston rings I had the same problem with my Integra hopefully not but that could be a possibility. Keep up the great work with the content guys and also be safe doing those runs.

Oil on your spark plugs may be due to worn piston rings or damaged valve seals, or it could be from excessive crankcase pressure or a failing PCV valve.
I'm wondering if it's burning a shitload of oil on WOT pulls, it would explain the smoke
Check the dipstick tube I had the same thing happened to me, it was pushing oil out from the bottom of the dipstick tube out to the headers and would smoke the same way.
That corvette was showing signs of consuming oil when you bought it. Should really leakdown/compression test it.
That engine is a lil tired but ran great in that race
might want to do a leakdown test along with the standard compression test. Can hear where compression is leaking iirc

Can’t really complain considering that’s a brand new mustang. The vette is in limp mode rn very intrigued on what it’ll look like after y’all find and fix the problem. Def do a rerun with those two and see what that after math is
If im not mistaken, to check the oil on a dry sump system there is a slightly different process than a wet sump. I wonder if the car has been slightly overfilled.

Vette needs rings, ls3/tr6060 combo typically makes ~400 to the tire bone stock. With the massive weight advantage it has over the s650 at pretty much the same power level, that grandsport is not healthy at all being neck and neck. It should at least walk by a car
I hated that beater vette when you bought it. Now it’s grown on me. Looks a lot better
That Corvette has some engine issues. Basically starts slowly walking away from the mustang even with the engine issues. If the grand sport did that you would’ve had problems with a C6 Z06

the C5 generation isnt to bad ether it can hold its own against a lot of modern cars to be some where between 20 and 27 years old, mostly talking about the 2001 to 2004 models.
