Heh! You may have to dig deeper nto th pockets. My nephews already went thru all the collected coins @ my Mom’s house before she passed. They were teens then. I wasn’t aware of what they were looking for until much later. It’s a Win your quarters! One old Lamborghini tire rim. How’s that for a win.
What in bloody heck is a business strike?! I'll look it up. I didn't know there was such a thing. I'm too busy looking for a 1943 copper penny 😄 I have a better chance of being hit by a meteor strike.🤣
Also Proof means non-circulated which would be in a sealed case such as the one he showed. If not it would probably not be considered a Proof coin any longer and therefore have less value depending on condition even though it is Proof struck. That's why you should never open a sealed set of coins, make the sale for the whole set.
THANK YOU! I’ve been trying to figure out how to tell a proof from a business strike coin for years. Everyone just says. “It’s shiny” or mirror like. I definitely appreciate you going into detail!
@@tommychoppa7564 That was clever. What if they go to the incorrect address. Like the other guy’s house. U’ll look under your door and there’ll be nada (no coin(s)
Keep going you will find more randomly make sure you get the gold dollars and silver pieces. They have the value of the gold and silver used to make them while your collecting them
I always go through my change and find lots of error coins. When I look them up they're worth nothing I have some that are similar to coins I've seen worth lots of money and yet nothing. I wish I knew who's giving out this kinda cash for rare coins because I have lots that I believe could be worth something.
You do realize at the end of the day it’s still a dime! Worth .10 cents. It’s like finding a fender damage from the Ford factory now makes that Mustang with 100000x more
I have a unique 1966 dime overstruck on a SILVER 1962D dime with both dates showing and certified MS 62 by NGC. Being that a 1965 SILVER dime sold for over 14 THOUSAND DOLLARS this year at a Heritage auction, I wonder what this UNIQUE 1966 SILVER DIME IS WORTH
Not likely, they're specifically struck and usually inserted into those special complete year set. So unless someone bought you a full mint set for your birthday or Christmas you've never had that coin..
Not in the way a proof does, they are specially made so that you can easily tell the difference. If you put a polished coin and a proof next to each other the difference is obvious
does it have an s mint mark? also it should look significantly different than a normal dime. if it is proof, than maybe 3 dollars, also proofs normally bought in a set, they normally arent coins u would find in circulation unless someone took it out its set and put it into circulation
you're seriously saying you have a almost half million dollar coin and you're just letting it sit there and not cashing in it? Must be nice to be in that kind of position. I'd at least cash it out and invest that money elsewhere to grow
You’re forgetting to mention how condition matters. And if we’re lucky to have one in our piggy bank, it more than likely is worth what’s in the piggy bank.
I'm going to say this video is 50% right. The reason why the dime sold for so much money is because it's a "Double die obverse" strike which in fact means it's been double struck BUT it's double struck accidently the second time just a hair off from the first strike. You will notice this most often in lettering. Second the reason this dime is such high value is because it's a double die obverse proof dime.....good luck finding one in circulation!
Thanks I was asking people how to what's the difference between a proof dime and just a regular struck down for all money in general thanks for the video
Ok I have a question I've been noticing that dimes have different places where the mint mark's are pen, are up higher than the San mint mark's I learn something new everyday, and I have a 1977 dime really good it has a finsh looks almost black shine
They have to come from a proof set !!! If they don’t come from a proof set they are worth face value . This need to be clearly translated to people or they will think they have something. Most dealers know where the dimes are . But again they must come from the Proof Set .
He literally said why. It’s supposed to have an S on it indicating it’s from San Francisco as coins of that year that were made proof all had. It’s the fact that the coin is missing the S mint mark
These coins are not in circulation . Most are known who are the owners . If you got the cousin Circulation it is most likely not worth anything because it didn’t come fro The Proof Sets .
The 1988 quarter in my pocket could buy two Lamborghinis …if I could find someone who would sell me two Lamborghinis for 25 cents.

Wait after wef or Biden bucks roll out you'll have any color u want then 😂 for 1- 90% dime

Is that a datura flower in your photo?
Think of all the change you've had in your pocket throughout your life. I'm sure we've all had special coins like this at one time or another.
Yup and did not get that Lamborghini although I wldnt have brought one 🤣🤣
those were from proof sets
DEFINITELY
Thats why I collect all my change. Go through it, and inspect the coins. You wouldnt believe the coins I found over the years
I've often wondered that myself.
This is the dime from the year of my birth.. 🙌🏻 from the good and great things are happening!
Me too my mom had a bunch of coins from that year got to go check em out
Man I have a 1989 quarter with the year in 2 different places
DUDE that's GOTTA be worth something, errors are always doing well Get it checked out come back let us know
That's worth something 100% 👌 and I mean fat change bout to change your life lol

I appreciate the proof tips! Definitely was just asking myself how to tell the difference
good. like
Wow... thanks for the simple axample and difference between a proof dime vs business strike❤️
If someone sold two Lamborghinis for this and told me about it Id probably be upset
I’m sure I had one and used it to buy a bag of chips. That was a half $1 million bag of chips dammit
What in bloody heck is a business strike?! I'll look it up. I didn't know there was such a thing. I'm too busy looking for a 1943 copper penny 😄

A business strike is your regular struck coins. All Philadelphia and Denver coins are business strike coins.
Thanks for showing me how to tell proof coins from the rest
How to tell
I have a 1989 s proof that I found in change about 30 years ago
I have the exact same dime no mint mark proof coin haven’t sent it in for grading
Yeah ok

This dime is “valuable” the same way an NFT is valuable. Sell it to someone dumb enough to buy it for a higher price than it’s worth
I wonder how much money I handed off to the cashier just because I didn't want to break the next dollar? ?
Who else grabbed all their dimes to start testing them ?
That may be the best test to see if its a proof.
