Bad luck on the Barbel front Rob. Atleast old rubber lips didn't let you down! Down here it's generally Well into July before the Barbel (what few there are now) show up. Hope it's not a bad omen, I'm up tomorrow til Friday ( the joys of retirement eh!). Could do without the aches and pains though! 👍
Me and my mate once had a day that didn't go to plan on 16th of June in 90's he decided for us to go to Arley got there for 4 am and all the pegs we wanted to fish had been taken,so we went to Bewdley and the same happened again,so we went to bridge north same happend there to,so we ended up going to Ironbridge like i suggested in the first place, can't remember exactly what time we started fishing and caught loads of chub and barbel between us,and then I nearly had disastrous day the next day fishing Whittington canal to try out my brand new pole that wasn't cheap, and i was chatting to another fisherman next to me on my right hand side when he suddenly shouted watch out, because from my left came two swan's ready to land on the water right inline with my pole lucky I moved it quickly enough,so yes we're all have our ups downs when it comes to fishing 👍
Hi rob do you know any day ticket stretches of the severn with easy access, im taking my dad who has a dodgy hip cant walk to far. I watched your video on sydney avenue i was just wondering of any others thankyou.
Hi Ashley, there aren’t any that are any easier to access than Sydney Avenue that I’m aware of.. The BAA have some options (Ribblesford, Ladyham, Arley) and some private stretches exist also around the middle Severn 👍
@@RobsAngling thank you rob ,keep up the videos mate really enjoy them ,nearly brought this pole ,looks very bendy in your videos so opted for the drenam one
Frustrating when you get to Sydney Ave at the crack of dawn and there are already people there set up and fishing. Almost like they’ve night fished it🤔
@@RobsAngling maybe not “night fished” as such. But clearly gotten there a good few hours before dawn. I’ve been there before at the crack of dawn and walked the bank with my tackle, just about to walk down to a peg and someone has run up behind me with a bucket and announced “I’m fishing here”. Was still low light - thought I was about to be mugged. And then the rudeness to kick me out of a peg that i was walking down to. Not a fan of that stretch any more - far nicer stretches to fish
Through watching barbel days and ways i thread abaiting needle through my bag, then pull my hooklength through just leaving my hairrig touching the bottom of the bag ,through my antitangle sleave onto my quick change swivel and away i go ,confident the bags not disappeared down the river, great vids Rob @RobsAngling
Cheers Rob. A couple Inc. A good 8 pounder yesterday. Giving Northwood a go today as featured by you last back end. 👍
Good Vid Rob. My first year on the Severn and learning a lot from your vids. I will approach with a certain amount of confidence.👍🇬🇧

Thanks Paul - Sounds like the up and downs of what can happen on the banks. Good news that you caught a few in Ironbridge though - Well done 👍🎣

Agreed - But hopefully not the case and rules are being respected by all 👍
