Midrange? The polar response drops sharply after 1100 hz. Ideally you would cross a midrange over to a Tweeter around 3500 ish hz. And in order to get perfect imaging you want the polar response of the tweeter and the midrange to match at, and beyond their respective crossover frequencies. If done properly both speakers will sound seamless and the image will be so sharp and clear. The polar response is so wild that there would never be a Tweeter that would match properly with this woofer.
I bought and tested these and sent them back. There are several lower distortion drivers out there from Seas or even Dayton. These are real pretty though.
I have tried the 2 controllers and in my opinion they are very similar, but satori I like more in the lower middle part, I crossed the satori in 200 hz to 12 db / octave with excellent results
Didn't except to hear ot. SS known with thier almost perfect lows and bass in the revelator & illuminator series. Soon to start Satori 3 Way passive speaker.. Thanks!
The music on this video is ridiculous, just a load of electronic repetitive farting noises. Electronic music can never demonstrate the quality of upmarket speakers, so why use it here?
I know you are probably pretty adamant about that view, and I totally get why might you say that because there are a lot of more "natural" recordings that reveal the qualities of my speakers. However, I find there are many very good electronic recordings that demonstrate the characteristics of a speaker. I know there are some Professional Engineers that like to use Infected Mushroom as a reference when they are calibrating speakers.
The bang&olufsen beolab 90 has 7 of these dricvers in each speaker 😍
Woooow this thing look so nice

But distortion isn‘t all at spraker tech. Ir you are a good speaker designer you would love these Scan Speak.
