As someone that likes forehands I have to say I’m surprised at your hatred of the berg. Forehand approaches dead straight 220’ and in. Sure some people putt with it, but that’s not why it’s such a good disc

I also struggle to understand. Not liking a mold is one thing, but he is not complaining about the mold as much as not knowing what the disc is going to do. That comes only with practice with that particular disc. I use mine for anything under around 160-175ft and in including putting. Bergs are literally the only putt and approach disc that I can shoot equally well forehand or backhand and these things are deadly if you like anhyzer approaches like I do.

@@robertkluttz8313 I use mine mainly for forehand approaches. But I can release them flat and they just go dead straight. But also can hold an anny or a hyzer if I put it on one

As a life-long over thrower of upshots, the Berg has found a spot in my bag. There used to be a disc at Innova that solved it for me...called the Bulldog.
They dont make the bulldog anymore, so its Berg for me.
But I definitely need a high-glide complement to it. So I bag a Pure.
...since you asked why people throw it.

I am noodle supreme so I don’t touch many discs above 11 speed until I figure out my form some more.
That being said - I agree with your assessment of the Stig and I throw it all up and down La Mirada every time I play. Love that disc

Loved hearing your thoughts on community sourcing flight numbers. I bought a defy thinking it'd replace my wraith based solely on numbers. It's more like a wraith that developed a hardcore workout routine and stuck to it for ten years for how stable it is.

I don't get it. I've heard a lot of people say the Berg is glidey. Mine drops out of the air like a brick. I genuinely have a hard time overthrowing the basket 200 and in. The shape isn't super pleasing but its flight characteristics trump the feel for me. Just strange lol

I've thrown quite a few Kastaplast molds and once you go up through the mids after the Svea, I've found the numbers to not match what I would expect from the flights of the discs. I think they overestimate the stability and underestimate turn quite a bit. I use the Reko as my putter and the Svea is the only other disc I bag from them now. All the other molds are really flippy for me and have way more turn that I'd expect, especially from the 0 or -1 Turn designated discs.

The Svea is a stellar slightly understate mid. Absolutely dependable. Trying the Reko at Stampede reservoir this weekend in Truckee. Great videos

The Reko was clutch. Thrown as a lofty anhyzer it does a beautiful flex with distance.

Berg is 100% controllable once you STOP trying to make it turn/fade/etc like other discs. It is too slow and pushes too much air to move too far off the line thrown. It is great for taking direct aim at a basket and letting go. I've thrown my BEOrg in 4 times in a year vs chained out once with Harp (2 years throwing) and 1 ace with the Razor Claw 3 (short course fun round). Berg = Point n shoot... not hyzer/flex/etc.

I putt with the berg from anywhere inside 15 feet pretty much. Super comfortable for my large hands and always doesn’t spit out or glide a lil too much. Perfect for short confirming par putts and a ton of 200 foot straight holes where it’ll just go straight no matter how hard I throw it

Berg Putt: Pinch the rim with your outstretched pointer and thumb, snug it into your hand, aim high, curly your wrist back and punch it in with just a hint of anny. Works well for me anyway.

In my experience kastaplasts numbers are simply way off when it comes to high speed drivers. They're consistently more understable than what the numbers would suggest, and they can't seem to make a properly stable DD.

  • @attilawiszmeg
    @attilawiszmeg Рік тому +1

You should probably throw the stock runs of Krut before you make any final judgements. KP:s first runs aren't really known for their overstability you know :)
