I just had my 2019 Ford Escape to West Herr Ford for an inspection. They noticed that my rear knuckle bushings were worn and had to be replaced. Everything was still covered under warranty and the crew treated us very well. Your video was helpful for me to understand what they would be doing. Thankyou.
Time was when you could get all the individual parts needed to re build any assembly, but now, you have to buy a complete new unit......at an astronomical cost 🤴 That's a good solution you have shown there TK. Thanks,
Holy cow this was a frustrating video to watch! Finally got the bushing in place but not without a lot of fumbling about. The long and short of it appears to be that you need to get an aftermarket Mazda Tribute trailing arm bushing from Moog and press it in with a hydraulic press. Skip to the 15 minute mark to see how it is done and save your self a lot of aggravation.
This is awesome, thank you! I have a '17 Escape with just a little over 48,000 miles and both bushings are shot, one is almost completely gone. My local Ford dealership wants almost $2,800 parts and labor to replace both knuckle assemblies because they says it's a "non-serviceable" bushing with no aftermarket options. Everything about the situation screamed BS and your video proves it. Now I just need to find an independent shop that can do this work. Thanks again!!!
Hey Geoff, I'm having the same issue on my 17 escape and got quoted $1700 for the replacement. How has everything been going with your escape since you got it sorted?
@@goon1524 I ended up taking it to an independent shop, they were able to do exactly what TK The Tech did, remove the trailing arm, cut out the old bushing and pressed new ones in. Took a couple hours and they changed me about $450 parts and labor. So far everything is great!
@@tgbgndz7790 Well, it wasn't *totally* the dealerships vault. At the time the only OEM option from Ford was to purchase the entire knuckle/control arm assembly, which was both very expensive (almost $900 each if I recall) and very time consuming to replace. This was stupid though because the control arm is clearly (and easily) removable and they sell just the control arm with bushings already pressed for other vehicles in their portfolio that use very similar suspension, the Focus for example, for a much more reasonable price. However, its seems Ford has finally came to their senses because I noticed recently that they now sell the control arm with bushings as its own part for the Escape.
@@gg750 The Ford dealership where I purchased my 2017 Escape just got us with this problem. My wife just brought it in for an oil change & inspection. I verified it wasn't BS with a few YT videos and then tried to figure out if he was over-charging. A little over $700 for everything (both bushings, oil change, inspection). I guess that's acceptable after seeing what others were quoted.
Thank you for sharing your forum online and sharing this information. You’ve saved me a ton of grief man. I wish you and the creator of this video all the best :)
Thanks TK. I'm having the same issue on my 2013 Ford. I don't have the machinery to just replace the bushing like you did here, so I'm going to replace the whole arm. Apparently I also need to replace the dog bones. Do you have any videos on where to locate and how to replace the dog bones?
Great video! I need to get the same thing replaced on my 2014 Ford Escape. Where are you located? Can I bring my car to your shop if you are close to where I live! You seem so knowledgeable and have done this many times before!

I’m dealing with this exact issue on a 2018 Escape. I didn’t see the part number in the description. I think I can read it (k200064?), but would like to know for sure. I’m not about to pay $1200 for parts alone for a vehicle with only 44k miles on it. Thank you for the video!
Thank you for watching the video. If you are in Canada, most parts stores carry Moog. If you are in the states I am not to sure. But for sure you can order the bushings from Rock Auto.
I'm having this exact problem on a 2013 Ford Escape AWD. Thank you for this video. The trailing arm should be an orderable part but you have to buy the whole knuckle to get it! I did find these arms at a local junkyard so I will attempt this replacement. Are there any torque specs for the 3 knuckle bolts and the two body attachment bolts?
What symptoms did you experience? I am getting a clunking sound from my right rear as if I had a bad ball joint, yet my ball joints seem good with no movement at all. I am not sure how to test the trailing arm.

I have a 2019 escape and it has 45,000 kms. Brought it in for service today and told them I get some vibration sometimes and not sure if it’s transmission related. They ended up replacing these under warranty and the girl told me it would have cost cover $3000. Cannot believe it for a vehicle with not many miles. What are the symptoms? My vehicle had a slight shudder at certain speeds that almost felt like it could be in the transmission. I think I will get rid of this vehicle after another year as it will probably become a money pit after warranty is up. Crazy that you could pop out the bushings with your hand like that. It should be a Ford safety recall.
Thx for a great Video. If the Ford Technician told me "Rear Lateral Links" at 4.0 shop hours plus parts, is he talking about this rear control arm? Do you need to do a wheel alignment after this is done? I just finished the Front Control arms and had a wheel alignment done. The guys that did the wheel alignment did not say anything about the rear control arms.
Thank you for watching the video. These busging are for the trailing arms. Which are not sold separately. They are sold with the rear knuckle which is about 500 + each. If done correctly no alignment is required.
Will this same bushing K200064 work on a 2013 Ford Escape SE? The rear trailing arm looks good but the rubber part inside the bushing is completely gone and now my daughters car makes a clunking noise . I'm looking to just replace the bushing... Thanks in advance

my guess at looking at the mass of the mounting tabs on those bushings. The Mazda car weighs less. The Ford has to support more weight.
