This is my first bike, 10,000 km clocked on it and as you said, you can never go wrong with a Honda. Honestly speaking I am not a fan of the looks and sound of a RE Classic and bullet, never appealed to me. It feels slow, laid back and doesn't get your heart racing when you twist that throttle. The 350RS on the other hand appeals to a more Adrenaline seeking audience, gets me excited every time I hear that crackling and popping exhaust and the instant torque at the slightest twist of the throttle. It's more of a scrambler and retro mashup. As you rightly said, if you compare this with a RE classic, the Indian emotional connect with 'Dug Dug' can influence the buying decision for most people. But if anyone knows how much better Honda actually is, it's a no brainer decision. The bike was actually a huge hit in the Japanese market. It's called the GB350 there. The customization market is huge in Japan for this bike. This is honestly the best review so far, way better than the Enfield paid, biased auto journalists. Overdrive ahem ahem...... Will bring my bike in for service to your garage once the warranty service period is over. Cheers!

There's always an 'if' and 'but' for every bike. It is more of an individual preference and taste. For example, I wanted a neatly refined and reliable 300-400 cc motorcycle with modern elements and yet retro. To buy my first bike ever, Royal enfield was a bit too common on the streets for me. I fumbled on the Honda CB 350 RS one day and went ahead and got it. I absolutely love the machine. It is sooo good. Excellent road presence and feels great to ride.
When someone wants royal Enfield and gets better than that he goes for honda . Royal Enfield should get it's bikes refined, not as uncouth or crude like bullet or classic. Himalayan too😊
We Indians have been hardwired to think that only Royal Enfield is entitled to make long stroke singles. If Yamaha happened to launch the SR400 (which has a legacy of its own) in India, I'm sure it will get the same criticism like the CB350 (not from buyers, but from auto journalists). It is obvious that no one criticizes the Ninja 300 for being a parallel twin like the R3. And the Imperiale 400 is a good bike in its own right. It is always better to have options so that the bar is raised furthermore. If you need performance, it is already there in the form of CB300R. And we all know that a twin cylinder 300 can never be priced below 4 lakhs today.
I think it’s more about the fact that Honda is a legacy manufacturer, and if they wanted to make a classic or a retro motorcycle, they could’ve taken something from their own history, instead they chose to compete with RE by trying to make something similar to that. Which is not necessary at all. Honda has a rich history of some amazing motorcycles, they are the ones that gave us the Unicorn, which was a revolution in chassis and suspension when it came. So maybe instead of trying to copy RE and fail to steal sales, they can actually make a Honda and automatically steal sales from RE. Just my two cents though. It’s still a very good motorcycle, and I’m pretty sure the customers who bought it are happy with it.
I feel the video leans towards your opinion. I really like my CB350 RS because I wanted a bike that looks new but still has that old-fashioned charm. This bike perfectly combines style, nostalgia, and how it handles.
Hey guys loved the video!! All the things you said about the bike is soo true. I have hness cb350 and so far I am loving it. @@ashutoshkhedwal1280 cb350 can be a good first motorcycle. Its practical and really easy to handle. Power is not that intimidating. In fact I taught my friend riding on this motorcycle. The weight of the motorcycle is really manageable. When you start rolling you won't feel the weight at all. I ride mainly in cities and on thing to keep in mind is that you frequent gear changes are sometimes required, but on highway this motorcycle shines. Fuel economy is also good, I get around 32-35kmpl in city and 35+ on highways.
I liked the sound of RE Bullet from childhood but when i started riding bikes i rode my cousin brothers RE classic many times and i didn't feel like what i had imagined. It was super heavy, vibrations all around, maneuvering was hectic in traffic conditions and once it got punctured on a hilly terrain and with no shops near by i had the most difficult day dragging it till the puncture wala. The bike was difficult to handle over the speed of 80km/hr. Now to the present i heard similar sound but with a different body and brand. I had a dream of owning a bike from childhood. Now that i am working man i was thinking of buying a dominar 400.But i dunno how i somehow went for a test ride of Scram400 on the other side was this bike the honda CB350 RS. I took the test ride of Scram, Dominar, Hunter, Meteor, and CB350 RS. Now i am a very happy owner of the latter. Sounds great, Mileage is great, maneuvering great, riding position is great for adults on a younger side, plus Honda is reliable than many other brands. It's 178 kgs but feels nimble as the weight distribution is awesome. It looks so gentle but also is an eye turner and classy. Its an allrounder beauty - Touring, drag race, crusing, sailing and also off roading ti some extend! The only cons are : Mud splashes due to short fenders The horns are useless in highway So is the headlight, and yes the long stroke feels akward at first but after sometime when you get its hang youll be more than fine as it has slipper clutch which makes this problem a very small one. I brought this about 2months back when all the Hype was about the Triumph SPEED. BELIVE ME I AM VERY DELIGHTED WITH MY DECISION. To all of you who are confused just take a test ride of all your fav bikes. You will instantly get connected with which you shall ride in future. NOTE:IF you think im bluffing u can check my page. Cheers hope this helps you on your journey to owning your ride❤🎉
Very well said. Sailing on the same boat. Test rode everything from speed 400 to even the new KTM DUKE250. The connect that Honda CB350 RS was instant. Going with it. 👍🏾
I think Honda made this honda ka bullet show RE, how it's done. Whatever RE lacks in, honda has perfected it. The ride is such a joy. And I think many riders would feel the same. Good video 👍
Also cb 350 is the reason RE step up and introduced jseries engine orther wise they had a monopoly with that shit unreliable vibrator engine. But our gawar people will still buy it in the name of "feeling"
@@bigbearbangalore One major reason why I like this channel is the conversation between you two guys which is funny and actually very informative at the same time
How were you guys able to compare this to Triumph T400 (which is a valid comparison in the context at 10:07) that came into the market 1 year after this video? 🤯
1:36 trying to make a RE bro said but at what aspects? Can you make it clear. Only think matches with re is that "350" name rest engine is far superior, gearing style is different, traction control, better brakes/tyres, slipper clutch, better mileage. So how is that they tried to make it RE ? Or is it that only RE is allowed on 350 segment ?
There is an option available. My Big Wings Service Engineer said that there is a performance pack available which will increase the power of the motorcycle to 28. But as it is a custom pack it will cancel the Warrenty. Hence my suggestion is that you update it after two years. I believe it is 18K+GST
@@chinmaychiplunkar in June I got 6 year warranty, now they r giving 10 year warranty 😛. If we decide for probably we can do in 6 months itself after making sure it has no issues
I too own cb350rs,2 service done already and its been osm journey, very satisfied with the bike, with performance and seriously in love with that smoothest engine
Absolutely love my Hness CB350 but you rightly said that Honda should have made an engine with it's own character. Big problem is the wobbling issue won't go. Started at around 7000 kms and now I'm at 20000+ kms and I've learnt to live with it. Big Wing Pune service has been very helpful and supportive but issue remains. Some have found switching out the stock MRF tyres to a different brand helps but it's very difficult to get the same front & rear tyres due to the weird tyre spec combination of front & rear. Front size is like a scrambler or adv tourer so all knobby tyres are available and rear size is your regular classic bike size so mostly street tyres are available. You can get away with fitting tyres from different manufacturers and there are a few options to either go both wheels knobby or street tyres but I have been advised to find the same tyre due to the extent of my bikes wobbling issue. Also I find the braking balance between front & rear a bit weird when it's not a similar tyre. Since October 2023 I've been trying to hunt for such tyres but with no luck. Only stock MRF are available but they seem to cause the wobbling issue after a few thousand kms. Reise moto is coming up with tyres in this size which I've ordered through my local dealer since December but they still haven't delivered them. Every week they say they will deliver next week but they don't. I hope this issue gets solved as I love my bike but I'm fed up. I keep thinking of selling it but the good service people and my love for the bike stops me everytime. Triumph scrambler 400X is pulling me hard but I keep on resisting it as I won't give up on my bike unless I've exhausted all options.
I've always known Honda motorcycles to be best in reliability. Great review of such a beautiful machine. Could you possibly make similar video on yezdi scrambler.
Very nicely explained... Bind between you two is the next level.... Sign if long sprwad friendship and many common interests... Kepp it up... Cheers...🍻
I think the long stroke is provided so as to improve mileage and heat management but the drawback is they compromise on power but its okay for Indian road conditions... Motorcycle as a whole is a excellent stuff where it is difficult to point out flaws. My opinion is they need to improve in their gear ratio.
It's interesting how Royal Enfield, when they recaptured the Indian market, chose not to ape the Harley which is an icon in the long stroke market. They brought the twins but had a 650 engine, and capitalised in the gap between the RE 350 cc and the Harley's 750 cc engines. It is not just a success story of staying in the market with confidence and improving their product line, but also what type of products to make and how they should be positioned. Kudos to the team!
Hello, i am a bit stuck to choose a hunter 350 or a cb350rs, personally I liked the cb but the budget is the only concert for the less budget I am getting a hunter which is present in the same segment. Could you please suggest something about my thoughts.
I have a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 & I've had a great run with it. It's an absolute joy to ride with loads of torque. It's great around town-very nimble. It's great on the open road & superb off road. No issues with the Riyal Enfield at all-it's a very simple engine-air cooled-2 valve-long stroke engine with superb torque so you don't have to rev it to get any performance out of it like you would the Honda.
Any luck going +1 or 2 teeth on the rear sprocket or the opposite on the front? I love reviews from these older men, they absolutely know what they speak of, having driven the twin CB 350s of the past
Have heard about some rusting issues and that paint quality is not great is it true.......? am planning to buy this and bit confused between triumph speed 400 and cb 350RS
@bigbearcustoms Can you help me choose between the KTM ADV. 250 & the Honda H'ness? I want to go for the adv 250 but my dad is rooting for the honda. Though both are very different in aspects, can you help me out?
In your previous post about not having a windshield is better,i own a cb350 RS without wind shield there is a lot of wind blast and even after installing a wind shield it doesnt makes any big difference. If possible can u do a video on the new Yezdi Scrambler 2023
Great discussion valid points, but the RE comparison is subjective, as a owner of the CB for the past 2 years, it's an amazing all round back with less credit given to the handling and the off road capability. Very well summed up, the juxtaposition of the CB350 RS is what makes it unique. Guess Honda had to not do much tweaks to the highness to gift us this motorcycle.
Honda could have really bought their XR400 single air cooled engine which has around 35 bhp and put it in a streetbike and an adventure bike. That engine is very durable and will last a very long time.
Hello Sir , Need ur valuable insight on any heating in engine area or foot pegs & 2 .) Front fender is too small for mud and rain water splashing , any solution ??
Wonderful review❤, i have booked a CB350. But still worried about wobbling issues earlier owners faced, any update on this whether Honda Sorted it in new models?
I own a CB350 RS for more than 2 years. As a machine, its excellent! flawless I would say. As a product, its a confused and sort of not so hit product. Honda doesn't know what they have made, they seemed to be confused themselves. There's also no post sales engagements from Honda. A customer does not feel sense of belongingness. I then added myself to the RE clan and I'm really happy. I am keeping both the Honda as well as the himmy 450. Excellent machines!
As a H'ness owner, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for any serious touring (300+ kms a day). It is way too underpowered for an open highway. I fell for the engine refinement etc. but ultimately power is what you need to tour. This may be at best a city bike.
3:00 I consider it as character of the motorcycle. I guess the Honda tuned the bike in such way because the stroke length of the cb350 engine (bore x stroke : 70mm X 90.519mm) is taller than classic 350 (bore x stroke : 72 mm X 85.8 mm). That means cb350 has high torque at low end but can't rev as high as classic 350. To compensate this Honda has given taller gear ratio. The benefits being that cb350 revs low compared to classic 350 while achieving higher speeds which technically* resulting in less heat and more fuel economy than classic 350. Pair it up with Honda's reliability, we have perfect middle weight motorcycle for a middle class Indian who wants a bike to cover most of their necessities
Getting way too confused between hunter 350 and cb350rs, the new Hue edition colours are luring me towards cb350rs but after listening to reviews saying it lacks identity, idk what to do, any help will be appreciated!

Its started on a wrong note and remained stuck to it. Its not honda ka bullet. Its more like Spender and Unicorn ka bada bhai. Also all the bikes you mentioned have their own history. They have tried to compete with Royal enfield in india but not copied it. Ever since the launch of highness 2020 the bikes have remained same except fot few cosmetic changes. Where has royal enfield had multiple new bikes, change of platforms and engines, re-launches, iski topi uske sir etc. So its open for everyone to see that which product actually met the satisfaction of its buyers

I personally like bullet's riding positiin and sound. Gear is butter smooth in cb 350 rs. Also the back tyre size attracted me. My first bike, pls advice
They are on point Honda forgot the prime necessary for retro bike like this ,instead they came up with a RE blueprint ,still they could have given power more torque ,made it a Honda rather than a RE staple, and expensive as well
I took a ride of cb350 and classic 350 j series one after another and felt cb 350 was very good the looks, refinement ,sound ,performance everything except the low end torque then i rode the classic and realised the cb350 looses some magic or wat to say like feel i dont know the right word which the classic have . Cb 350 is good but the classic is more engaging, I don't know just my opinion.
Service network decent?? No absolutely not. The decision to have this in the big wing showroom and not the the usual ones in pretty damaging to themselves. I want to buy this but guess what, my city does not has a big wing dealer and I dont want to buy the bike from 120 kms away as its not worth that much hassle
Agreed...plus in smaller towns and cities even if there is a service centre then it becomes another problem as they have complete monopoly...after sales and service will be a nightmare...
Actually they deliver different performance characteristics. Quite different. Depends on what you seek. One is a city slicker while the other is an open road mile muncher.
I had this bike, rode it for 9700km and then sold it. It was deadly reliable, fast and frugal..but the thing it did NOT give me was the pride of ownership. It was recognised everywhere as a wannabe bullet. Worst was when someone asked the price, and his reply was priceless...Itne mein to Bullet le lete. I wish Honda had given it a discernible differential over the Bullet, just like X440 has, now. In the end this bike is destined to be remembered in eternity as a Honda ki Bullet.
that identity crisis is only because the original cb350 wasn't launched in India. If honda made the CB keeping in mind the original CB350, RE classic will be facing the same identity crisis. Also, the people who knows the legacy of CB350 and the iconic blue/white color theme, they'll never face the crisis.
@@bigbearbangalore And that CB 350 of the 70s was a twin, with a cult following....how I wish Honda would have built upon that bike and produced a 'Honda' with Honda DNA, not a Honda ki bullet with RE DNA. IIRC, even the bore and stroke are almost same!
I thought u guys had some idea of the history of honda motorcycles... Honda has never thought of mimicking the bullet with CB350 because this is a long running model since the 1980s, please do some research before you say something like that..this existing version of CB350 was launched outside India where RE didn't operate as GB350, on the silencer sound part refer to old cb350s sound and see how similar it is..
Thanks for the Honda history lesson. And irrespective, the CB in india is considered a direct competition to the Royal Enfield. That's the market perception so, no matter the history, the Indian CB is considered as Honda's reeponse to the Bullet. Cheers!
@bigbearbangalore yea... actually I do own a cb350 and of all the things what irritates me the most is referring it as an honda ka bullet...
Just two chill gentlemen having fun conversations on a Sunday morning over a Honda bike…loved it Sir.❤
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.
The only cons are :
Mud splashes due to short fenders
The horns are useless in highway
So is the headlight, and yes the long stroke feels akward at first but after sometime when you get its hang youll be more than fine as it has slipper clutch which makes this problem a very small one. I brought this about 2months back when all the Hype was about the Triumph SPEED. BELIVE ME I AM VERY DELIGHTED WITH MY DECISION.
To all of you who are confused just take a test ride of all your fav bikes. You will instantly get connected with which you shall ride in future.

Amazing review with very good points, 10/10.
How were you guys able to compare this to Triumph T400 (which is a valid comparison in the context at 10:07) that came into the market 1 year after this video? 🤯
The T400 was reference to Triumph 400. 😀
Why Honda Ka Bullet? Enormously reliability.
Honda ownership is a such a peace of mind
Name given by the public.
And yes, it's quite reliable. But not so great. Has issues too.
Nitpicking‼️It's best in the segment , powerful (30nm ) but economical! Light but has biggest range in segment ( 15L tank), Modern but retro 😆🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Yes technically the CB is superior. Agree.
If these 350 twins only had 6 gears n 26-30 bhp, they would have made their place like Speed 400.
True, if they manage to increase BHP and change gearing it will be there to stay
Yes agree. And all ifs and buts. The fact is, this is what it is now.
There is an option available. My Big Wings Service Engineer said that there is a performance pack available which will increase the power of the motorcycle to 28. But as it is a custom pack it will cancel the Warrenty. Hence my suggestion is that you update it after two years.
I believe it is 18K+GST
Powertronics?
@@chinmaychiplunkar in June I got 6 year warranty, now they r giving 10 year warranty 😛. If we decide for probably we can do in 6 months itself after making sure it has no issues

Yes probably.

Thanks for the detailed comment. Much appreciated.
The Scrambler comes with the MRF tyres. And am switching to Reise.
Have you faced any rust issues that have recently been popping up a lot?
I've always known Honda motorcycles to be best in reliability. Great review of such a beautiful machine. Could you possibly make similar video on yezdi scrambler.
Yes they are reliable and durable. And will check on this possibility of the Yezdi Scrambler.
This is an RE without the RE quirks. Over two years of living with it and trust me, I wouldn't swap it for anything else.
Ok

3 years of ownership of cb highness ...its engine is gem and superior performance with high speed stability
Good to hear! Thanks for sharing.
What is the paid service cost
We needed a RE from Honda , so that the engine would be refined and it is , cb350 rs is a great motorcycle, it is absolutely wonderful.
Yes it is.
I think the long stroke is provided so as to improve mileage and heat management but the drawback is they compromise on power but its okay for Indian road conditions... Motorcycle as a whole is a excellent stuff where it is difficult to point out flaws. My opinion is they need to improve in their gear ratio.
Perhaps. And for Indian road conditions, low end performance is more important.
Thanks for the comment. Regards.
Hello, i am a bit stuck to choose a hunter 350 or a cb350rs, personally I liked the cb but the budget is the only concert for the less budget I am getting a hunter which is present in the same segment. Could you please suggest something about my thoughts.
test ride back to back and choose please.
Great to hear! Cheers!
Planning to buy this... and now confused with speed 400 and cb350rs

For daily usage go with CB 350

Any luck going +1 or 2 teeth on the rear sprocket or the opposite on the front? I love reviews from these older men, they absolutely know what they speak of, having driven the twin CB 350s of the past

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Agree.
I've posted a deyailed ride review several months ago on the CB350 Highness.
Honda could have really bought their XR400 single air cooled engine which has around 35 bhp and put it in a streetbike and an adventure bike. That engine is very durable and will last a very long time.
Yes, and pricing & emission concerns perhaps that have stalled those plans.
Hello Sir , Need ur valuable insight on any heating in engine area or foot pegs & 2 .) Front fender is too small for mud and rain water splashing , any solution ??
Mud splash really don't know. May be ok but will know in monsoon.
Heat is quite manageable.
Wonderful review❤, i have booked a CB350. But still worried about wobbling issues earlier owners faced, any update on this whether Honda Sorted it in new models?
Thanks. No news of a resolution.
Fantastic review! Natural and very well put together. Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Why are the 400s Motocycles Not available in Europe !?? 🤔
Too small and underpowered for those roads perhaps?
I own a CB350 RS for more than 2 years. As a machine, its excellent! flawless I would say. As a product, its a confused and sort of not so hit product. Honda doesn't know what they have made, they seemed to be confused themselves. There's also no post sales engagements from Honda. A customer does not feel sense of belongingness.
I then added myself to the RE clan and I'm really happy. I am keeping both the Honda as well as the himmy 450. Excellent machines!
👍
As a H'ness owner, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for any serious touring (300+ kms a day). It is way too underpowered for an open highway. I fell for the engine refinement etc. but ultimately power is what you need to tour. This may be at best a city bike.
Ah ok. But isn't it better on crusing / top speed than the Royal Enfield on the highways?
Do you feel RS is better for touring
Thanks for sharing.
Getting way too confused between hunter 350 and cb350rs, the new Hue edition colours are luring me towards cb350rs but after listening to reviews saying it lacks identity, idk what to do, any help will be appreciated!

If you loved it, buy it.
Honda already had a CB350 back in the seventies itself although not in the guise of a single cylinder bike...so probably it's not right to say that it's mimicking the RE...Honda's pedigree needs no mention

Monopoly is not good.
If Budget is not a constraint , should I go with Honda cb350 rs or Hunter 350 ????
Definitely RS
Actually they deliver different performance characteristics. Quite different. Depends on what you seek. One is a city slicker while the other is an open road mile muncher.
Could anyone recommend an exhaust for the CB350 RS that'll reduce the decibel levels?
Reduce? That'll be tough to find.
Does it is a beginner freindly as it is my first bike
Yes you can enjoy it even as a beginner
What’s the comfortable cruising speed?
The bike can do 100 to 120 kmph.
Your experience totally encapsulates one of the areas in which the CB is suffering from. Identity.
that identity crisis is only because the original cb350 wasn't launched in India. If honda made the CB keeping in mind the original CB350, RE classic will be facing the same identity crisis. Also, the people who knows the legacy of CB350 and the iconic blue/white color theme, they'll never face the crisis.
Yes and this is not the CB that has the legacy.
@Ichogil a twin would have been awesome indeed!
Even some reviewers seeing the tail section of hness right way say it was copied from standard350, but actually it is just the revamped version of old cb350 tail light

@lauralassan325 Bottom line : the 'people' decide whether the model is a hit or miss. So, no matter what a brand thinks or believes, it's these 'people' who have the final say.
which is better? cb 350rs or triumph speed 400?
