You're incorrect, on two counts, Shumi: 1) 1:00-1:30: You say: "The way they've chosen gearing causes problems. So the pro of this engine is at really low speeds..... you will shift up into 5th very very early on and then it's just peaceful riding, opening and closing the throttle." FACT: NO, sir. In the city, you can't shift into 5th "very very early on" and you definitely can't stay there in "peace, and just open and close throttle." In fact, you can't shift into 5th anytime before 60 km/h (it's 40 km/h for the Meteor), and even when you do, you can't do that "peaceful on/off throttle" you talked about 🤦 In the city, in 5th, every time you close the throttle, you WILL have to shift down to fourth to keep the engine from lugging. 2) 6:53-7:03: You say: "If the rear wheel was narrower, and the circumference lower, you'd get a motorcycle geared EVEN LOWER than the H'Ness and that would really really definitely be a problem." FACT: The gearing on the H'Ness is TALL, not SHORT. So the statement "gearing even shorter than the H'Ness would have caused problems" is incorrect. Would request you to read a bit about gearing, engines, and stuff before you make videos 🙏
Got confused on comment of shifting to 5th in city. Please can you elaborate on couple of things quoted on video: 1) Does CB feel weak on inclines? 2) Does the torque at high speed feels really trailing?
Was waiting for this comment. Shumi says its geared really tall but then says that you can shift up very early on. Makes me question his credibility. Could just be an honest mistake tho.
I guess all the 12 dislikes are from the ones who actually liked the content but got pissed off at the utter lack of volume leveling. If we had it at 100, Shumi's voice is at 85 and the rest is at 110. This is pure chaos. Please level thr volume floor for the entire length of the video.

Maybe the +10K is for the emotional 'fools' out there.)
Dear Shumi, I rode my Meteor down to Kankyakumari (3300 KMs) in a week and I can tell you this machine with this new engine is a gem. There are few negatives but they are so tiny no one will mind them, I think with this engine in classic frame RE will out run Honda by miles. Because on a highway getting your peak torque and power on a such a low RPM simply does not work, with J series motor, you can actually overtake a truck at 80 KMPH without a down sift, you can climb a hill at 70 KMPH, can cruise 90 to 100 for hours and many more things. I think RE played it very smart with tuning and gear positioning. But thanks to Honda, it has a big role in forcing RE to make a better machine. But at present RE is the boss of 350 CC.
@@ganeshnaik6503 Ganesh, today I completed 19000 Kms on my Meteor. No issues till date. I have been to Kanyakumari (3500 KMs in a 8 days) and Laddakh 4200 in 12 days) and my machine keeps running. Just for ur information I went to Laddakh without any spare part not even a clutch wire. If you ride it properly it will take you where so ever you wish to. Welcome to the Meteor Brotherhood. Your articulation skills are of top notch. Summary is "Honda should have buit Honda rather than building best Royal Enfield". Whatsoever is the feeling of many of us but this bike will surely offer reliable customer experience which is what Honda is well know for.
It's a beautiful bike, everything is perfect in the RS except the engine power. Ideally it should have been around 30-32 bhp at least. That would make it more desirable
Hi Shumi, Request your review on the new Mojo300 ABS BSVI also. Lot of people reported some important changes to improve the performance overall to give great riding experience in this 300 to 400 CC segment. Pls consider. Thanks.
love the simple black background for talking in details about the bike, music is a little bit distracting when it just gets high in between breaks the flow.
Bang on Shumi Da. Exactly what I even wanted to say, that Honda should have stuck to being a Honda rather than being a better RE there is! When I ask my friend who owns a H'ness ( 4 months old now) that it must be awesome to ride that bike his reactions are mostly neutral and self introspective . I mean if I break down his thought process into words it would summarise like "Meh, I just own a refined RE rather than owning a RE. I just wanted to be on a different bandwagon of cruiser bikes which more or less look exactly the same " And I guess Shumi da, that's what the bane of the current bike market is in currently at the least, wont you say. Manufacturers are more or less making the same versions of already established models, sort of piggybacking I would say. CB300R was a good model, but Honda completely deviated from that. And this is just one example, there are many many more like that in the current scenario. Everyone just wants to cash in on the same product portfolio. Bit of a long rant here but wanted to say what I was feeling inside my cerebrum 😛
Everytime I watch one of these review of all these fantastic new motorcycles in India I tell myself I should start riding. I've always been a car person, but there seems to be this entire other world of motoring passion which is riding. I'm 34 now. Still can't make up my mind.
@shumar You are the only guy who is pointing this out rightly.. everyone seems very impressed but is it so impressive? RS is a cruiser like machine with taller gearing, lower inline acceleration for a 350cc.. I mean its a CB right? Shouldn't city bikes preferably have shorter gearing?.. Of course Honda is trying to be more fuel efficient I guess..!! RS feels like the engineering graduate who always wanted to do learn Literature .. This bike could have been so much...!!
Best bike in the segment, only downside is that this bike doesn't come with usd forks.. plz request honda to give usd forks in new model honda cb rs350
Those who bought this have only Jawa to thank for it; if not for Jawa, given the lack of respect of all bike companies towards India, they would have taken another 25 years to release this as state-of-the-art bike. Finally Honda has shown some respect for Indian customers by launching something that has decent power and not overpriced. If they had had their way, they would have sold it at a price not less than Rs.4 lakhs. Competition is heating up; that's good.
Man, Shumi really does hit the head on the nail every time. I've been trying to gauge the H'ness (still can't get myself to call it that) and the RS and justify the price difference, but this just makes it clear as day. Looks like I'll have to save up 10k more...unless the Classic 350 pulls off something interesting.
@@shu_mar I'm not sure if I want to go for the cruiser vibe. My ideal bike is a cafe racer, or something that can be made to look like one without getting into much trouble. Hence I'm eyeing the RS, the Jawa 42 2.1 and maybe the Vitpilen 250 if I'm desperate. Please guide, sensei.
When I rode the Highness CB350, I felt like the gearing is very tall for city use. It felt more suited for highways than on the city. Low speeds were not at all possible in the higher gears, especially with a pillion onboard, which is very unlike a Honda engine. In fact, I found the Jawa to have better low speed manners than the Highness despite having a 6 speed transmission.
That's a fair review, Shumi. Can I expect the same for the Latest Mojo BS6? Ps: That music in between, it's slight discomfort to ears when headset is plugged in.
Having ridden my classic Desert Storm for about 9 years now, im quite used to the power and torque on mountainous roads, i feel it would be more like a downgrade if i go for the 350 R.S. I was thinking that adding the R.S to my collection would afford me a choice to a faster and more powerful bike like the Yamaha RD 350 but i guess thats not the case here. Thanks a ton for the video and info, thats exactly what i was looking for before taking the leap . Safe rides !
I really love my bike and I drove from Kasaragod to ernakulam on a single drive and it was good and I took a break in between I took 7 hours to reach indeed there are lots of new NH construction work is going on from Kasaragod till Cochin. The bike is at good control and I reached a max of 120 speed and the bike is so smooth. A few setbacks like, the head light throw in the night is not sufficient. Sometimes gear shifting I felt issues during the long ride. But that's not a big problem when compared with the ride comfort.
I thought it the problem only with me, but many people are complaining about the same, please do lower down the music volume, I just have to keep adjusting the volume every time the music kicks in, and it's irritating to not able to hear shumi speaking as he speaks softly. Kindly fix that, and we are here for the motorcycle, not necessarily for the loud music. 🙏
After looking at Meteor, I am sure classic 350 will have an improved built and finish. It will improve upon its strengths of being a "classic" looking bike with the old world charm. The power for sure will be concentrated in the lower RPMs. I will be happy if RE can match the fit and finish of CB 350 bikes. And one more thing, I think RE will be making sure that the exhaust sounds better on classic 350 as compared to meteor.
watching this video after test riding this bike.. pick-up in the 4th and 5th gear is not satisfactory riding experience is smooth and no vibrations and looks amazing. changing the tyre will help in boosting the pick-up in the 4th and 5th gear???
What I felt after experiencing the new Honda; He went on record for it: "Honda should have built (Edit: a) Honda, Instead of making the best Royal Enfield there is." Don't get me wrong. It is the best Royal Enfield there is. Quality wise it is better than the RE 650 Interceptor.

I don't know about everyone i still see that there is a top place waiting for classic bikes or "modern classics". I'm guessing if done right RE Classic 350 gonna be it or Interceptor 350. But u know they still won't uplift the game in terms of power and torque i agree they are good but i wish a 400cc clasic with refined as Honda & Feature loaded as with that extra USB charging, Bluetooth connectivity, city & Touring modes would mean more practical & a killer and ofcourse "dug dugggg too😂😂"
The loud music kicks in all of a sudden, if possible do take care of this in your next videos..... Apart from that an excellent review focussed on what really matters...thank you PD...... Could you do a comparison of Java 42 2.1, RE Meteor, Honda CB350 RS ?
That line from Shumi nailed it- "Honda should have built a Honda and not a RE". I wish Honda had released bike like CB190SS with their CBR300 engine and that would be another game changer. This RS version is more like a make over of Highness.
The main Problem with this bike and many bikes in recent past is, they lack character. Back in 2013 KTM was a hit because of the character it had. These bikes don’t come with a soul, they are concerned more about comfort and rider friendly features. Same goes with the cars too, nothing feels connected nowadays.

In fact, you can't shift into 5th anytime before 60 km/h (it's 40 km/h for the Meteor), and even when you do, you can't do that "peaceful on/off throttle" you talked about 🤦 In the city, in 5th, every time you close the throttle, you WILL have to shift down to fourth to keep the engine from lugging.
2) 6:53-7:03:
You say: "If the rear wheel was narrower, and the circumference lower, you'd get a motorcycle geared EVEN LOWER than the H'Ness and that would really really definitely be a problem."
FACT: The gearing on the H'Ness is TALL, not SHORT. So the statement "gearing even shorter than the H'Ness would have caused problems" is incorrect.
Would request you to read a bit about gearing, engines, and stuff before you make videos 🙏
👍
Got confused on comment of shifting to 5th in city. Please can you elaborate on couple of things quoted on video: 1) Does CB feel weak on inclines? 2) Does the torque at high speed feels really trailing?
You are correct
@@sportsmedicine5284 I will be getting the bike next week. All your questions will be correctly answered in that one. 😃
Nailed it.👍
Sorry! The team has been given your feedback!
I thought my mobile is having issues 🤣
@@shu_mar Thank you!
@@shu_marbeen telling it in so many reviews, hopefully the editing team fixes this soon it's very annoying.. Trust me.. I have to keep increasing the volume even you speak and lowering it when the music kicks in. End of day... You are go to person for reviews on bikes for me!!
Shumi nailed it once again..as a CB owner, I too feel that Honda should have gone the other way round to justify the price..
Proud owner oh Highness CB 350... Did I like the RS one? Yes... Should have waited more and shelled out 10k more? Hell no. .... Reason : Versatility of the CB... RS is a baby scrambler while CB is anything you want it to be :-)
not really , changing the handlebar doesnt make it a scrambler. It is , to quote Shumi , Roughly the Same
It is not a Scrambler nor a cafe racer,it is Honda CB 350 RS.😉
Scrambler? From which angle?
Mileage?
@@shu_mar He must be talking about the styling/yellow color being similar to the Ducati, lol. (Btw, talking about styling, I find it to be a KEY factor especially for the younger generation. Shelling out an extra 10K wouldn't matter to a 21-25 year old who has been charmed/infatuated by the looks of the RS over the CB. Reasoning goes out of the window. Maybe the +10K is for the emotional 'fools' out there.)
5:55 you can see a hornet on the petrol tank hitching a ride 😆 guess Hornet approves the CB 350RS too
Atlast someone gave a good and crisp review... Otherwise everyone was like... I love this bike for what I ignored
Thank you!
@@shu_mar when will the cb300r be relaunched again plz reply
Hey, I have recently booked Meteor. Loved the test ride. How's the reliability though? Any issues that RE bikes are infamous for?
@@ganeshnaik6503 Ganesh, today I completed 19000 Kms on my Meteor. No issues till date. I have been to Kanyakumari (3500 KMs in a 8 days) and Laddakh 4200 in 12 days) and my machine keeps running. Just for ur information I went to Laddakh without any spare part not even a clutch wire. If you ride it properly it will take you where so ever you wish to. Welcome to the Meteor Brotherhood. You are going to have fun.
When you're not interested in the bike but you still watch the video to hear Shumi talk and gain every bit of knowledge you can. 🙌

Traction Control on a 30 NM motorcycle is as "NECESSARY" as Riding modes on a 20 bhp motorcycle..😉
52 Nm
How about that...
Features are welcome if switchable, whichever feature it may be😁. But If it is a forced feature you have to use then it becomes torture😕
@@mustafadudhwala7278 you can turn it off
@@blessed7047 exactly my point, just like the apache
Traction control is a must on any bike..I once hit a sand patch on a curve in my 150 gixxer doing just 60kmph. Thank God nothing serious happened and I managed to control the bike but it did give me the biggest fright of my life..
PowerDrift and Fortnine just hit different 😌. Love the content :)
Fortnine> anything
Fortnine >>
True. Each have their place and each do their job exceptionally well!
cant even compare PD to F9. remember, F9 is completely free of advertising/branding. Some PD videos, you can very clearly make out the "Brand" pushing a narrative. (Cough, TVS).
Content might be great on both sites but one is completely unbiased and if you even doubt there is a bias, that is a tough act to sell
@@factss108 that is true. F9s content is miles ahead. But I'm not comparing or saying that "this" is better than "this". I'm just trying to say that in contrast to all the other thousands of review channels out there, these two are really unique and captivating :)
Day by day Shumi has been more and more mature, wise and worth watching.👍
Thanks!
Obama back to action 🎬
Barack to work!
@@shu_mar so when is Barack with perak ..?
Today, I had it's test drive. What a bike.
Hi Shumi,
Request your review on the new Mojo300 ABS BSVI also.
I just wanted to be on a different bandwagon of cruiser bikes which more or less look exactly the same "
And I guess Shumi da, that's what the bane of the current bike market is in currently at the least, wont you say.
5:55 so the bike is carrying Shumi and a bee on the tank
Everytime I watch one of these review of all these fantastic new motorcycles in India I tell myself I should start riding. I've always been a car person, but there seems to be this entire other world of motoring passion which is riding. I'm 34 now. Still can't make up my mind.
do it
@shumar You are the only guy who is pointing this out rightly.. everyone seems very impressed but is it so impressive? RS is a cruiser like machine with taller gearing, lower inline acceleration for a 350cc.. I mean its a CB right? Shouldn't city bikes preferably have shorter gearing?.. Of course Honda is trying to be more fuel efficient I guess..!! RS feels like the engineering graduate who always wanted to do learn Literature .. This bike could have been so much...!!
The refinement of Honda engines is another level. And the build quality is better. Two important traits which no existing RE can ever match.
You should totally go ahead and invest in Honda, too well ahead as compared to RE
Today I would get a Meteor. Ideally I’d wait for the new Classic.
@@AbhishekSarin Vitpilen is easily the best of the group. RS can be modified easily to look like a CR. Test ride and decide
@@shu_mar My hero. Thank you so much
When I rode the Highness CB350, I felt like the gearing is very tall for city use. It felt more suited for highways than on the city. Low speeds were not at all possible in the higher gears, especially with a pillion onboard, which is very unlike a Honda engine. In fact, I found the Jawa to have better low speed manners than the Highness despite having a 6 speed transmission.
Which is best for city use yzedi or honda
@@yeelanma9165 you better take a test ride and decide for yourself.. not everyone ride the same way..
Why do you want to stress the engine by shifting too early? it's the character of this engine and you're the problem.
5:55 over the fuel tank.
That background music is distracting.. Pls remove it
Improve your concentration bro😂 . Just kidding
He have intentionally done to keep enthusiast little detached😂
Okay sure😂😂😂
People @powerdrift are just perfect fit for their roles ❤️
Agree with your "philosophical sentence, Honda should have been a Honda than being a Royal Enfield"
“The Honda should have built an Honda, than building a better Royal Enfield”
-Shumi 2021
Ahaahahahahaha! Thanks!
Absolutely.. Honda should mark these words!!
Maybe Honda is chasing numbers 😀
After looking at Meteor, I am sure classic 350 will have an improved built and finish. It will improve upon its strengths of being a "classic" looking bike with the old world charm. The power for sure will be concentrated in the lower RPMs. I will be happy if RE can match the fit and finish of CB 350 bikes. And one more thing, I think RE will be making sure that the exhaust sounds better on classic 350 as compared to meteor.
Waiting for classic next gen with meteor engine.. And then comparison video from PD
That’s makes two of us!
Reasons why I watch PD:
1. I love bikes
2. I love rock n roll
5:56 that bug is getting the ride of its life there
Hi.. If possible for a comparison video for H'ness - Mojo300 BS6 - Dominar..
Hi Shumi, kindly review Mojo BS6.
Eagerly waiting 🔥
watching this video after test riding this bike..
pick-up in the 4th and 5th gear is not satisfactory
riding experience is smooth and no vibrations and looks amazing.
changing the tyre will help in boosting the pick-up in the 4th and 5th gear???
Road presence and sound ❤️
What I felt after experiencing the new Honda; He went on record for it: "Honda should have built (Edit: a) Honda, Instead of making the best Royal Enfield there is."
Don't get me wrong. It is the best Royal Enfield there is. Quality wise it is better than the RE 650 Interceptor.
I was all confused between re and honda and finally shumi cleared it .. honda didn't build a honda 😂😂 .. thank u pd and shumar .. I know which one to book now ..
book a honda bro.. ride quality and everything is much better than RE.. take a test ride and then decide..
@@manishmittal6240 sure you expect from Honda .. but big wing is the issue .. re has plethora of service options and spares .. moreover classic 350 new gen will be on table anytime now .. can't wait for that !! Guess it ll blow honda away
I think i don't wish to go to a race with this vehicle so keep your review with you... The vehicle is just sufficient for me to ride for daily commute and on long rides as well...I don't wish to cruise at 120 rather I will enjoy 80 like many other
These bikes come and go, nothing can actually replace a royal enfield.
Hoped Honda gave USD fork, rear adjustable gas filled shockers, adjustable levers and more colour options for the CB350 RS. It would have been more perfect! Still a nice ride.
Kindly review Mahindra mojo bs6 and a comparison review would be helpful thank you
Seems like MS Dhoni is talking n not shumi...
Same accent n tone..
I don't know about everyone i still see that there is a top place waiting for classic bikes or "modern classics". I'm guessing if done right RE Classic 350 gonna be it or Interceptor 350.
But u know they still won't uplift the game in terms of power and torque i agree they are good but i wish a 400cc clasic with refined as Honda & Feature loaded as with that extra USB charging, Bluetooth connectivity, city & Touring modes would mean more practical & a killer and ofcourse "dug dugggg too😂😂"
Shumi and "any stretch of imagination"
Beat this combo😂😂😂💨💨
The loud music kicks in all of a sudden, if possible do take care of this in your next videos.....
Apart from that an excellent review focussed on what really matters...thank you PD......
Could you do a comparison of Java 42 2.1, RE Meteor, Honda CB350 RS ?
shumi, please do a review on Mojo BS 6
That line from Shumi nailed it- "Honda should have built a Honda and not a RE". I wish Honda had released bike like CB190SS with their CBR300 engine and that would be another game changer. This RS version is more like a make over of Highness.
The last time when I was this early Honda was still selling Activa 6(Million)G
Honda really disappointed you though! 😅 As far as the news go, 2021 from Honda is really gonna disappoint Activa trollers😅
Activa jokes are too damn old. Move on.
Early bird gets the worm!
Another activa joke....😑
Thumbs up👍.for shumi's t shirt🔥🔥
Hey Shumi, Do consider review of new Mojo BS6 too 😃. There are plenty of changes from what Powerdrift reviewed last time in BS3 Mojo.
I will buy this when it comes to the United States!
Hey Schumi Please review the new Mojo .......want to know your verdict on it
It's the most perfect bike for someone like us. 'Beginners'.
The main Problem with this bike and many bikes in recent past is, they lack character. Back in 2013 KTM was a hit because of the character it had. These bikes don’t come with a soul, they are concerned more about comfort and rider friendly features. Same goes with the cars too, nothing feels connected nowadays.
Yes even manufacturers tend to bring in more features than character...that our old two strokes and old ktm's had
If they change the Engine to 250 CC of CBR & 17" front wheel. i'm in.... take my money. CB250RS😎
150 rear tyre 👍👍👍amazing this is what lam waiting for, meteor 350 140 rear tyre reason of sale rather than old thunderbird 120 rear tyre which look thin in big bike
Traction control may be viewed as overhyped gimmick, But safety provision even small should be appreciated. CBS & ABS is becoming a mandatory choice now. Traction control maybe the future mandatory.
Review the new mojo bsVI. Its been too underrated for its touring capabilities.
Shumi is hitting Nail on the head for Honda reviews. 😂 Honda please listen and update the next version with Shumi inputs 😂. Really 4th and 5th gear power issue is a major one for touring guys for sure. I had booked on the day of launch but couldn't decide to buy . To make sure had rented for a day and tested the bike thoroughly and I was put off due to tall gear issue. It cried to climb the flyovers even in 4th gear. Whatever Shumi says is actually spot on. 😘
It feels like Splendor did follow the legs day routine seriously. 😅. That tank is weak tho.
You should see a splendor parked near to it to actually understand how blunder it was for u to have said this😂
Subscribed on the recommendation of a friend. And I tell you I'm totally satisfied with the content. The way you explain the intricate details in an impartial manner is awesome.
shumi is always right
@PowerDrift Team, classic 350 is old bike and h'ness CB 350 and 350RS are new design bikes. So comparing the new ones with old ones isnt right i believe.. i think you compare them once the next gen classic 350 launched.. then it will be fair comparo to make as all have all newly designed engines
voice volume: low
music volume: very high
Hello friend, can you please make a review on mahindra mojo BS6 So that people would come to know that there is a perfect underrated machine exist! Hope you will consider this request!

When he will run the company he will do the same😆
They are doing the business bro..
You did not cover the pillion comfort .... And also what accessories it gets...
You guys needs to understand people upgrade from a 150c bike not for top speed performance but for low speed performance torque with pillon/luggage ,ease of luggage mounting options and timeless design
Honda should bring this to the USA.
Shumi, I am waiting for the CBR650R to come just like how you are waiting for the CB500X. Fingers are crossed. Loved the review BTW!!!
