Thanks. Sidechain is only about ducking volume, not pitching ( if I understood well your question...)

Then I phrased it wrong. What I meant is if the pitch of the vocal can be linked to/ follow the notes of the synth. Or isn't that something that is desired?

No, the vocal has his own melody and pitch which makes the whole harmony of the track richer and more interesting
