Steaming hot coffee, breakfast burrito, herd of deer, "grateful for everything you don't have in your life" (yup). Thankful for now knowing how to jump start a battery! Another small fear inducing task addressed for scaredy cats like me. Started right up.....Most resourceful man on the planet here. Beautiful nature is such a good thing. (Oh, and we won't feed the mentally deranged internet trolls. There out there, unfortunately. )
He also said check the battery and alternator in town which is a good tip. Sometimes the alternator system (it charges the battery) dies and you charge the battery and it goes dead because of the bad alternator. We had a adventure van when I was a kid and if the battery was low due to bad alternator the van would hesitate like it had bad gas then die on the road somewhere. 2 nights in the cold and no charge, old battery, is a sign it needs to be replaced. Headlights might blink.
Another thing to try first-thing is cleaning your contacts. Sometimes the battery is still good, but corrosion has developed. I've started dead cars several times just doing that. If you've got it, you can use sandpaper. If not, use whatever you've got--knife blade, screwdriver blade. The contacts are made of lead and are soft.
Those deer took me back to being homeless, sitting in my camp outside and having my coffee while deer walked up to within 10 feet of me. One day, a little buck walked through my camp while I sat there with my camp. I felt like a part of the place I lived in. The wildlife seemed to accept me- something deep inside still misses that.
Good day Brian. I do look in on occasions for your videos to see. This is a Rustic and Autumn-Fall type of scenery you have. I do enjoy them, as am in Australia. Pay no heed to grumpy people, please.Enjoy your life.
Like Frostfire65 said: "chronically positive". I used to follow several different van/RV dweller channels. All of them started out happy, fresh and positive, and over time have lost their positive attitude and happiness as the reality of the lifestyle sets in. All except one. Brian is still the same as he started out, taking the good with the bad, and making the most of what life offers. No wonder your subscriber numbers keep growing, when the other guys/gals sub numbers keep going down. Keep on rollin' and we will keep looking over your shoulder. Salud!
Falling water, wild deer, healthy breakfast, beautiful scenery, and a lesson in jumping a van with solar-charged house batteries - what more could you ask for? Really great video - thanks for sharing!
Yups, you are my favorite youtuber! I appreciate everything about this video. Scenic walk, deer, breakfast, and calmly dealing with an unexpected glitch. Plus, as usual, I learned something. Thank you!!
Sure worked out good thanks for demo. So cool seeing deer cross river. Not seen that before. Doesnt get any better. How BEAUTIFULL. Great breakfast Brian. Safe travels
Your moment of reflection and gratitude is exactly why the universe graced with experiencing a herd of deer crossing a river right in front of you. You know how to seize a moment and be thankful for it 🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌😎
We have a heard of 8 deer including 2 bucks that bed down behind our house in Arnold California. My mom bless her heart fed all the woodland creatures. They all miss her...safe travels Brian
An "attitude of gratitude" is all you need to be happy in life. That, & a pair of jumper cables long enough to give yourself a jumpstart. Nothing like car troubles in the middle of nowhere & being able to fix it yourself. I've been there. That horrible feeling of being stranded goes to elation when you solve the problem. Back to being grateful for what you have (& don't have) is the key to serenity. In my early years, I thought "I'll be happy when I get this" object, job, woman, etc... It never filled the void. Now I'm content most of the time. I no longer compare my life to others. I never dreamed of being this serene. Be well & be safe, everyone.
LOL Can't make this stuff up Right after talking about how grateful you are, feeling good about life etc. Battery goes bad... As expected, you tackled it like a champ, and went on with it :)
I love your coffee ritual. Gotta try my coffee that way instead of the Keurig sometimes. You really made my day(and many other viewers' day as well) with the deer crossing. Just wonderful!
Glad to see you are back on the road and enjoying travels. Up here in Northern Alberta, Canada we have had snow already. Didn’t stay up to double digits warm weather tomorrow but winter is coming!! That was pretty the deer going across the river. Thanks.
Wow! I’m so glad you caught that on camera🦌🦌🦌 reminds me of the morning in my camper I woke up to dawn surrounded by elk!!! Eating their breakfast!! Drinking my coffee just kept saying Wow!!!!!!! Over and over
Ah, thank you Brian for such a lovely way to start my day. What a gift to see the deer right by your campsite. Your are so mellow and peaceful. Congrats on 30K !!
Thanks for the reminder to look around and count my blessings. I think every day holds those wonderful little joys, if I just take the time to pause and enjoy them.
It really is all about attitude, and you have a great one! The deer sure were a blessing! How can a wild animal look so innocent and cute living in the wildest conditions? Amazing!
I enjoy traveling with you, via videos. My crippled husband & I spent most of 15 years "living out". What started out as being homeless & desperate became our only way to get out of his bed & chair. For several beautiful years, we traveled in a '77 Dodge Conversion...I loved that van...& we were no longer chained to bed & chair. Now, I need to get out again. Living in a senior retirement complex is NOT how my story will end! I heard you talk about donating a van. If I was given the gift of a running van, I could get back on the road, away from city pollution, back to nature, where I belong. You are a good person with good vibes. Keep up the good work. I can afford to live in a van easier & healthier on the road. I miss driving. Thank you.
What a profound event with the deer crossing right over to your van, it's highly spiritual and foretelling when that happens, then to casually solve the battery issue right afterwards, you've been blessed. Thanks for your dedication to sharing great videos
Beautiful in that spot...and the deer were amazing! I did that one time in WVa....looking out my back window...house on the edge of forest mt area....I tiptoed outside and tried to get a still shot...it was snowing but they must of heard snow crunching under my feet....off they went...but you never forget those encounters! Safe travels🇺🇸
I've seen all your videos, Brian. BIG FAN. But I didn't click LIKE on all of them. So I'm rewatching your videos just to live vicariously through you during the pandemic and click LIKE this time. Stay safe, AdventureVanMan!!!
Gorgeous country. Thanks for all your gorgeous videos. So glad you can help yourself out with the extra batteries especially so you don't have to walk miles for help.
That was so cool watching the deer. I filmed a group of mulies crossing the San Juan river in New Mexico, but I wasn’t nearly as close as that! I bought one of those small lithium jump start batteries. Man, has that paid off! It makes so easy to jump a vehicle. I still keep a nice set of jumper cables, but I haven’t used them since I bought the device. You can charge devices like cameras and phones off them too. Thanks for the videos!
Even seeing those deer on the screen here put the hairs on the back of my neck up. Seeing them that close for real must have been awesome :) Thanks for sharing that with us Brian :)
I LOVE that you are so self sufficient! Freakin' amazing jumping your own vehicle. And the deer were awesome. Was so happy for you that you got to experience that. :-).
We live in a north west Rapid City neighborhood, and we have many deer wandering around most mornings and evenings here year round, as well as a whole flock of turkeys. Nice to enjoy the wild life! I agree with you that it’s a real blessing! Glad you got your van going again! Continue to travel safe
Beautiful country!! Here in Fort Stockton Texas we have a lot of deer, roadrunners and tumbleweeds.. Safe travels and God bless you forever and always... Thank you so much for sharing your life with us!! I love your videos/vlogs..❤
I always enjoy your videos and know you will end up with a "like" even before I watch it all! How wonderful for the deer to come right up to you...was indeed a treat for you which you shared with me, THANK YOU! Always always enjoy your cooking videos too! God boss you and keep you safe!
Some years ago while on a job I was parked on the side of the road with just the parking lights on about 4 in the morning. A field on my right. So quiet you could hear a pin drop. Then I heard a rustling noise in the that field. A whole herd of deer came out of that field and walked right in front of the car within three feet of the bumper. One after another. Must have been over a dozen of them.

Love how you solve your daily problems.
So cool how the brave leader in the front paved the way for the others to follow just in case there was trouble. Wow!

Great shots of the deer, things like that always lift my spirits.
