If she just wants to eat the bread, just eat it. I'm guessing that she out with someone and got up in her self-righteous feelings when she saw someone eat the bread as soon as it came.
First of all " tacky" refers to style or taste appearance wise. She should have chosen the "uncouth" but if she is worried about what others think of her eating habits, she probably doesn't have an expansive vocabulary as being proper and educated is often viewed as a negative
I used to be a debutante and we took a lot of etiquette classes, and 1) it’s actually disrespectful to not at least sample all of the food you’re given (if it’s not at a buffet, where you self serve), whether at a restaurant or somebody’s home. It’s a compliment to the chef when you clean your plate, so it’s an insult if they sit bread in front of you and you don’t at least try it lol. 2) one rule of etiquette is “When in Rome.” So if you’re in, say, an East Asian country where they slurp their food to show appreciation for its flavor, you’re meant to slurp too to show respect for their culture and appreciation. Thus, it would actually be considered “tacky” to be at a table full of people in the U.S. who are eating the bread and you not try it, too lol.
Red Lobster, Olive garden, Texas roadhouse, hunni if u go in and ask 4a half dozen or a dozen pieces of bread and that's all u order without eating a meal they make u pay so when they give that 2u at the table that's included in yo meal so technically it ain't free. I worked at Red Lobster 7years and takeout orders of the bread only cost. If it was free it a be a line out the door daily jus 4 red lobster biscuits and any of the other restaurants bread. Lawd somebody tell the baby 2do her research. It's part of ur meal while dining🤦🏾and good as hell😋😋😋😋
as a fine fining server(no “free bread” where i work) here to confirm that its not tacky to consume food when its at a restaurant. the only thing you should wait a moment for is freshly opened wine, and hot dishes. still not tacky, but you’ll enjoy it better if wine breathes, meat rests. (good cuts of meats are rested in kitchen so if its not billowing billowing steam, u’re good) 🤓
I used 2work there and that was the 1st thing requested and I couldn't get it out my hand fast enough b4 they was opening the napkin eating it. Hell they paying 4the bread so technically it ain't free😏
That Olive Garden bread be hittin’ tho 😩 they will even bake you a fresh pack (in a bake-able bag) to take home with your leftovers. If she and the funky 3% ppl don’t like bread, why doesn’t she just say that??? 😒😂
I always go for the bread when it hits the table. Plus if the bread is gone when my food arrives I will ask for a fresh batch. You can call me what you want but I bet it won't be hungry 🤣 Warm bread is the best 😋
The whole point of the bread being there is for you to eat it. It’s to sustain your hunger while you wait for your food. What is this girl talking about?
Wow, this just gave me a flashback. When I was in my early 20s a bunch of us went to see a Richard Pryor comedy on film. One person in the group says, I'm not going to be laughing like everybody else, that's unsophisticated". We looked at each other and continued to the theater. I know everyone in our group wanted to laugh like everyone else in the theater but we sat there showing how much "class" we had. After 10minutes I couldn't take it anymore, I said y'all are corny. I climbed three rows ahead and sat with two people having a good time, they even passed me a joint. I told them about what that one person said in the group and we started laughing at them. Why would you go to a Richard Pryor comedy and not laugh?😆😆😆
She just let you know don't go out to eat with her. I doubt her judgment stops at eating bread. Whats next, it's tacky cuz you don't chew your food long enough to her satisfaction? LOL
If I didn't eat a long while before we get to the restaurant, I'm GONNA eat that bread. Definitely taking some home in my takeout box. If they're serving chips and salsa, I'm messing that up too. Well, I'm still gonna eat the bread regardless. Why withhold yourself from some good bread?
There's absolutely no way that deliciously warm brown bread at the cheesecake factory will sit there and get cold at our table 😂. I guess all the people I've gone out to eat with just as tacky as I am because we are like vultures for that bread 😂

Enjoying complimentary bread before the entree is tacky? Since when? This has to be a new thought process. I'm an 80's baby (1981), and I've never heard my generation, or any generations before mine say anything like this. Olive Garden breadsticks...Red Lobster cheddar biscuits...bring them on! 😋
It's her friends behavior not the bread itself. She's not saying not to eat the bread, but at least wait for it to sit on the table, say grace... smell the aroma before acting like vultures. She finds the behavior tacky... and if people are starving while dining ... then maybe they should eat a little something prior and not act without home training. All along I was thinking bread is meant to be eaten. But as I read some of these comments & her text, it's the behavior she finds tacky.
The only reason most don't eat the bread is to not fill up before the entree. But that bread is good, lol. Someone is always trying to make something bad just to try to embarrass somebody. Just eat the bread!

I had a waitress ask me once was I drinking the salsa? 🤣 Cause I don't play when it comes to the chips and dip. If y'all would bring my food!

Thou shall eat the free bread that's the appetizer PERIOD!!!!
that’s my dessert too lol
If she just wants to eat the bread, just eat it. I'm guessing that she out with someone and got up in her self-righteous feelings when she saw someone eat the bread as soon as it came.
That brown bread at Outback...I eat that like a damn fiend. If it's tacky, well then I'm TACK-E. Put me in a Disney movie.
That 3% were just on their phones and missed the bread when it arrived...not the breads fault
😂😂😂😂
First of all " tacky" refers to style or taste appearance wise. She should have chosen the "uncouth" but if she is worried about what others think of her eating habits, she probably doesn't have an expansive vocabulary as being proper and educated is often viewed as a negative
I really admire the way you expressed yourself. Virtual high five!

A cultured queen
She obviously hasn't been to the cheesecake factory 😂🤣 that bread is heaven sent😏😂⚰️
@@emmjay551 yes Lawd😋I went last Month. It sure is😅
as a fine fining server(no “free bread” where i work) here to confirm that its not tacky to consume food when its at a restaurant. the only thing you should wait a moment for is freshly opened wine, and hot dishes. still not tacky, but you’ll enjoy it better if wine breathes, meat rests. (good cuts of meats are rested in kitchen so if its not billowing billowing steam, u’re good) 🤓
Hell no. Red lobsters bread is perfect. I’ll eat that at breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Yesssssuhhhh
Amen
🙌🏾
Red Lobster, Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden…I’m eating all the free breads!!! I wish somebody would say something 😤🤣
I eat that bread as soon as it hits the table and ask for a second round!! Outback, O'Charleys...got some of the best pre-meal bread!!!!!!!
And do! That Outback bread stands zero chances.
O’Charley’s comes fresh out the ovennnn 🙌🏾🙌🏾
LOL
Right! Just ridiculous I bet it’s so mentally draining to hang out with her 😒
and, she is not splitting that bill, eithetcause you had a drink
If I didn't eat a long while before we get to the restaurant, I'm GONNA eat that bread. Definitely taking some home in my takeout box. If they're serving chips and salsa, I'm messing that up too. Well, I'm still gonna eat the bread regardless. Why withhold yourself from some good bread?
If she want to have cold bread instead of warm deliciousness, she should just say that.
I'm picturing the fresh bread and butter right now. Makes me want to go to a restaurant.
There's absolutely no way that deliciously warm brown bread at the cheesecake factory will sit there and get cold at our table 😂. I guess all the people I've gone out to eat with just as tacky as I am because we are like vultures for that bread 😂
Right! Lol @ vultures…soon they sat it down and come back we asking for more
We eat the complimentary bread while it's hot!!!! Yaldo too much!!!
So her conclusion was "The world is tacky and I'm the only one who has any class" smh
Welp her poll debunked that conclusion real quick🤣🤣🤣

Enjoying complimentary bread before the entree is tacky? Since when? This has to be a new thought process. I'm an 80's baby (1981), and I've never heard my generation, or any generations before mine say anything like this. Olive Garden breadsticks...Red Lobster cheddar biscuits...bring them on! 😋
It’s not new lol we don’t claim this woman who’s saying that. This is news to everyone 😂
I'm asking for extra so they can be boxed up to go at the end LOL
The Olive Garden bread sticks aren't even good after 5 minutes. Same with the Longhorn bread. Hot from the oven is the point!
@@nicolelawrence7722 Yep! Eat them while they're hot and fresh.
I must be super tacky when I ask for a 2nd basket of “free” bread to go with my leftovers I’m taking home 🤔
Some call it tacky I call it resourceful 🤷🏾♂️
If I ever do a poll and more than 90% of people disagree with my stated opinion, im just going to go ahead and say "While my opinion is valid, i think it might have to change." Imagine doubling down with single digit percentages backing you up. Sis just take the L gracefully.
Single digits percentages that you don't even require two hands to show, at that.
I’ll be damned if I don’t start eating that warm bread before the waitress get to the next table😋And LORDT please let my butter be spreadable and not straight out the industrial refrigerator🙄😒

At least you gave the bread some time to sit on the table to bless it. Some of her tacky friends eat the bread in nanoseconds.
She’s inventing her own restaurant decorum in order to feel superior and it didn’t work. Acting like she knows something that others don’t when in reality she’s just as lost.

“While I am yet waiting” that’s a message 😂
Why do restaurants provide EDIBLE bread if it isn’t there to be eaten?
"Thank you God bless you so much" to the chic fil a employee 😂😂😂 I love Kev lmao
The only reason not to eat the bread is if you're on a low carbs diet/ lifestyle. For me I will eat it but must times I don't only because I don't want to get full off of it.
Her reply after the poll is a classic response of a person that just can't admit to being wrong. She didn't even make any sense!
Ma'am no one made that bread EARLY in the morning for you NOT to eat it (I worked at restaurants where we gave out free bread baskets and it was made fresh every morning). We just throw it away if you don't eat it, so why not enjoy it? Quit overthinking stuff💀💀
Whenever Im in Red Lobster best believe I partake in all the cheddar biscuits they give me 😆🤣😂
No it’s there to be eaten. What’s tacky is sitting there pretending you aren’t hungry until enough time has passed before you eat the bread.
She is the definition of caring too much about what other people think
How is it tacky when they brought it to you to eat?? People don’t feel guilty about a free gift or included in a purchase !!! Salvation is a free gift and I’m accepting free bread too!😭
Girl! 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ Have you been to a restaurant? The AC alone is going to make it room temp within 3-5 minutes. (Fun fact - and the fact that I already typed this and don’t want to delete it - The purpose of the bread is to start getting you full so when your real meal comes you won’t stay as long. You’ll still pay for the full meal, get a to-go container, and move out the way for the next patrons.) Plus, like Kev said, it’s already included in their pricing module. You’re paying for it whether you like it or not. 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ As for me and my house…we’re smashing the first basket and requesting a second basket to go! 🤣🤣🤣🍞🥖🥐

Five mins I could have took doing what I came to the restaurant to do. And which one of us is supposed to keep track of the time and say "Okay y'all we can eat it now" 😭
How is it tacky? That’s what the bread is for. I don’t like eating it though, because I fill up quickly and like saving my appetite for the entree.
