Please put this on the market. My nephew makes grid drawings and legos are his favorite toys. He has a whole scrap book filled with grid drawings and this would be a dream come true for him. He just bought the new lego art kit that is the same (kinda) but you just make the provided photo. This could copy all of his grid drawings and make them into reality IN LEGO! Bro, you have something HUGE here! Send this to the Lego PR ppl so they can (AND WILL) fund this and make it a reality!! Seriously... I need this.. My nephew needs this. GREAT JOB! Congratulations in advance 👍
I really have to thank you for putting most of your instructions on a website. It's really sad when people create great things, but are unwilling to allow for collaboration. The fact that you've made your mechanisms open to the public allows for so much creation, so again, thank you.
this was raw inspiration for me a couple years ago, and it was part of what made me get an ev3 in the first place. these builds are truly works of art, and they've undoubtedly earned my subscription.
This is the most amazing LEGO creation I have ever seen (and I’ve seen a lot of them on UA-cam). You are a genius! This video deserves dozens of millions of views!
I would love to see more multi-part video projects in the future! This stuff is really fun to watch and understanding the design process and some of the iterations you went through makes it much more satisfying. I have a much greater appreciation for the final version after seeing each hurdle crossed along the way.
For the speed of the printer head, you should have a rotating wheel that can hold more bricks and different colours to speed it up. And for the feeding system, you should have levels of bricks on a tiled surface that will start to feed into the main system once the main tunnel is at a low enough point. This can exponentially increase brick storage.
That's amazing! Imagine if you expanded it into a 3-D printer :O By the way, how did you tackle the data storage? Is it a string of numbers in a variable?
Matthew Jones he tends to upload the building instruction for most of the models and it is just a clever use for the ev3 kit so there is no point putting it on LEGO ideas. He should defo put some of his non mindstorms stuff on there anyway.
Also, I draw pixelart on my computer. Is it possible to see one of them being done like this, all I'm asking for is a picture of the finished product sent to me and you can keep the parts. Please!
Fascinating. Reminds me of the programmable technic thing that Lego had long before any of the robotics kits (early 90's) One of the included designs was for a plotter that drew stuff you programmed it to. (that particular lego set came with a pen of all things...)
I'm waiting to see a printer head with the color blocks on it. Where if it runs out then it reapplies from the side. Or simpler a queuing system on the head that grabs what's needed from the side once for each line.
If you were going to print models with bigger bricks, you could build a robotic arm like they have in the car plants.I think if you made a copy of your mosaic printer but just used it to feed the parts then it would work well.
Holy shit dude this is awesome, i know this would be expensive for the mindstorm pieces, but duuuuude you should submit it for the lego ideas program, everybody would vote for it!
I think... If you would spread out the colors in the cartridges like "red-yellow-black, red-yellow-black, red-yellow-black" it might shave off a few second off the total time, because getting a black plate in the beginning of the print (or getting a red plate at the end) might need a bit less travel time for the carriage.
more of a photocopier but still really cool, they have a machine similar to this at a legal shop in London I think, it's 100£ and it gives you the parts to make a photo of your face.
Completely impractical, and completely awsome.
+1
+Larsey12 well it is practical if you wan't to put images on lego creations
I agrease
Lone Wolf well, it requires a lot more brick pieces and time than if you did it by hand, so it isn't practical, but it is awesome
well that's true, but maybe if you had to leave for a while.
You see this is one of those videos where I can't understand why someone would dislike it
Antonio Diavolo i think people don’t like it because they don’t like the word bubbles
because they ar jellaous that he made that and that they can’t lol I literally almost smashed my iPad with the like button
UA-cam algorithm
Either Australians who think the dislike button is the like button or/and it is a bunch of Karens
lol
That's so cool! You should also try making a Lego 3D printer!
+Jameson Hightshoe There actually is something like that!
+Bartosz Olszewski
link please
+Starteller he lied
+Jameson Hightshoe If only the Mindstorms system can keep three-dimensional models in it's memory. Maybe the next Minstorms set.
Robot The Rebel Gaming - Minecraft and more -
Use a Arduino
More reliable than a real printer. But the ink is even more expensive.
Also low dpi
@Roy Fullerton i think you are a freshly opened can of tuna
Roy Fullerton lego bricks can be reused
@@aturtlenearyou but most people wouldn't want to because they want to keep the print
@@SammyB33 kind of but the ink can be reused and so the papaer 😁
Can’t believe you got it to work without magenta.
He didn’t even need cyan either
not even ink just L E G O 0:45

That would ruin the building part they can have build instructions with all the pieces though

Amazing idea!
The finished version looks AMAZING!! This is so cool, can't wait to see more projects like this one!
Wow, this is amazing you are a pure genius.
This is easily the coolest thing ive ever seen
In 2050: working LEGO rocket that takes people to space
in2100: working lego teleportation device
That reveal at the end was worth it! Had me on the edge of my seat!!
this was raw inspiration for me a couple years ago, and it was part of what made me get an ev3 in the first place. these builds are truly works of art, and they've undoubtedly earned my subscription.
Wow imagine the amount of programming put into this
This is the most amazing LEGO creation I have ever seen (and I’ve seen a lot of them on UA-cam).

This is absolutly awsome! It has been a pleasure to follow this project from start to finish!

Lego: yeah it's made for kids!
JK Brickworks: *Hold my beer.*
amazing idea you have there I have been waiting for someone to do something like that I I think you have nailed it bro.
I love the updated printing arm, such an improvement over the last one and looks cool too!
you know one thing thats amazing about this, is that if you take apart the prints you get the tile pieces back you can do that with printer ink
Wow.. Just look at all the amazing things people are making these days!! Like this!!
This is so awesome. Was great to see it come together.

This is amazing how did 30 people not like this ??
So cool! I like how you changed the grabber to roll instead of lift straight up.
Love it! Excellent work 👌
This is the most awesome Lego creation I have ever seen!
That's amazing! Imagine if you expanded it into a 3-D printer :O

Best printer i've ever seen
You really should put this Lego printer on Lego ideas it would be great. I would defiantly buy it!!!
Matthew Jones he tends to upload the building instruction for most of the models and it is just a clever use for the ev3 kit so there is no point putting it on LEGO ideas.
He should defo put some of his non mindstorms stuff on there anyway.
+Matthew Jones me too its wicked
So radical you _defiantly_ buy something...
Same
Another genius work!
This is on a whole new level of genius and awesome!
Also, I draw pixelart on my computer. Is it possible to see one of them being done like this, all I'm asking for is a picture of the finished product sent to me and you can keep the parts. Please!
I think the most practical application would be making a stop-motion video. Fun video, thanks!
still faster than a 3d printer
11/10 - legos make legos
useful :D epic and love it :D
Epic! Nice work Jason!
Wow. Nice to see the finished project.
JKbrickworks, you are a lego genius
JK Brickworks, you sir are a genius!!!!!
this is the coolest thing ive ever seen
This. Is. AMAZING! You are so smart! Liked!
I´m speechless.This is so awesome!
Amazing! :) Such a compact an elegant design! I can't wait for the 3D version ;)
Fascinating.

By far your coolest model,
Awesomeness 11/10
Usefulness 0/10
Altogeter I loved it!
This would be great for the LEGO art sets.
This is amazing! One day, I hope you can release instructions, if possible. I know it's a HUGE build, but this is just too awesome to not release!
bro that is like the coolest thing in the hole entire world!!!
Lego be like:
LE GO
MADNESS!!
My head has been blown up...
you are a genius!!!!! amazing machine!
That is amazing! Great video!
wow, that looks like it took alot of planning and recalculating. Great freaking work, man, that's amazing.

You should do more projects like this, walking us through
This is brilliant
This will be a day long remembered.
(reference)
..Thats pretty sick!
I think you should try the stud mounted Stud-shooter (6102734: Plate 1X2 W/Shooter) as a print head.
+ZEF BADASS Cool, great suggestion, I'll have to give it a try!
This makes me so happy
Incredible
DUDE THIS IS AMAZING
Wow that's brilliant
Amazing you uploaded this on my birthday!! :D
This is an amazing and brilliant implementation for Lego parts 👏👏👏👏👌 Great video!

This is amazing! Keep up the great work
YOU ARE A FREAKING LEGEND
Holy shit dude this is awesome, i know this would be expensive for the mindstorm pieces, but duuuuude you should submit it for the lego ideas program, everybody would vote for it!
defying limits #greatest builder ever!!!
I swear, some of the stuff you build would work as a store item.
Just saying.
Dude Legos are really awsome
Amazing build!
Very very cool nice job
I NEED THIS FOR LIFE!!!! :D
I think... so basicly its a copier? I love it.
this is so awesome!!!
You should think in a charge of pieces like a stack after the analizer the picture and then drop the pieces in order, is more fast.
WOW AMAZING
This is what I came for! 🤘
Wow the lego ideas is greatest
I can't wait any more. I'm subscribing 😏
Now if this could be upgraded to building 3D models and maybe even full Lego sets!
SOOOOOOOOOO AMAZING
Gabrielle MoralesI meant... REALLY AMAZING...
Really nice :)
more of a photocopier but still really cool, they have a machine similar to this at a legal shop in London I think, it's 100£ and it gives you the parts to make a photo of your face.
Totally Amazing!
