I actually make more money from streaming. But that’s because I have a large UA-cam channel that can funnel free traffic to Spotify and Apple Music without paying for anything. I would advice to build your social media presence so you can leverage your platform for free to your other sites.

It's also because of the type of content you make as well. I can understand why you would say this. However for others across my audience making content like yours is not something that would fit for every body. Great job on the channel and amazing job on monetizing your music, sheet music , and tutorials on the website!

@@MusicMoneyMakeover I respectfully disagree. I have made regular "popular" music including hip hop with other channels in the past. You underestimate the power of social media influence my friend. Ive been making music for 14 years. Yes, instrumental piano music is universal...but like I said before, even niche genres (as long as your audience is large enough) you can push numbers anywhere WITHOUT paying for ads. You need a core amount of "super fans" that will click and download anything you ask. If out of 100k, you only have 10k super fans....then that's 10k streams almost every song regardless of genre and it only builds up from there....you can make direct sales to those people and they will buy. I have expert knowledge of this because like I said, been doing this for over 14 years.
Now how do you get that amount? Be unique. don't copy what every rapper or singer is doing. Create a trend. Stand out. Collaborate.

I do this type of music but post elsewhere. Try doing a UA-cam channel like this from scratch this day and age.. yeah good luck. complete waste of time and energy as I worked on one for 4 years without hardly any traction and ultimately decided it wasn't worth my time and effort any longer. Looks like you got in the game super early in 2011. Now just a bunch of pathetic saps using royalty free videos and music have completely saturated it for absolutely everyone 😡

Hi Casey, I have a bizarre question- Can you Please make a video about this (or tell me, lol): How does an New Independent Songwriter know how our first Song will really sound on Apple & Spotify, after its uploaded? If we're making a first song in a DAW Program on our computer, how in God's green earth do we know how it'll actually sound on streaming platforms ?🤔🧐.. Thank You and I'm so glad I found your Channel!!🔥 Your knowledge is a god-sent, thank you!🔥

There are plugins for this. Ozone's mastering plugin allows you to hear it that way.

@MusicMoneyMakeover Oh my goodness THANK YOU So Much!! I'm already nervous about making my first song I'm making all by myself on a Daw, and I don't want to be horrified if it sounds bad after it's online. Thank you so much Casey! (I'm not a professional musician at all, but I taught myself Daw & how play a little bit of keyboard , so I'm making the best of what I have. Thank you)

D2C is a beast of a challenge if you don't understand marketing. I'll put one in the queue, may make a course out of it.
