This is one of the things that got “whitewashed” in the US version, due to Nintendo of America’s policy against religious themes: Note that the center head (and the final boss himself) have devil-like horns-and the game makes it clear that the final boss is SATAN. In the American version, they changed the horns to lightning bolts, and named him “Tanzra” (though the horns can still be seen in the second phase of the boss fight.)
I beat this game once in my life, when I had the eagle eyes and quick reflexes of a 12 year-old. Nowadays? Forget it! This was the second SNES game I ever played, and has some amazing, atmospheric graphics, and a brilliant soundtrack! 🖖😀
Bloodpool Act 2 boss reminds me of Dracula for some reason (probably the fact he's a cloaked nobleman who teleports and shoots 3 fireballs, and turns into a monster for his second phase, although obviously this one is a werewolf and not a vampire). This was an awesome game, I have fond memories of playing it as a kid.
The difficultly varies on this game depending on what port you are playing: - American Port: easiest action stages - Japanese Original: easier town building sections than the American port (weaker enemies and faster leveling up), but harder action stages. - Pal Port: Has multiple difficulties for the action stages. Hard mode is more difficult than even the Japanese version. Pal also uses the American town builder difficulty.
Damn memories... I somehow beat this game with the Japanese version. Bruteforce my way through Japanese menu's. Love that unique chopping sound. It's hard to describe, like beating a bundle of muscle and tendon at the same time an axe hitting a treetrunc embedded into it.
he got to the last boss with 2 pegs only, so he did get hit a lot in the boss rush, considering the speed of the bosses in there is just ridiculous, cant blame him though.. its hell
hands down one of the MOST bizarre and difficult 2d platformer final boss fights. if i wouldn't have used an emulator and savestates possibly i could've never completed this game. its so insane but i guess rewarding as well
Ah, my freshman year in college. During the summer I worked at McDonalds and quit after getting my second month paycheck. Went straight to Tysons Corner mall in Falls Church, Virginia and bought the SNES console. Luckily the Street Fighter II just came out and went ahead and got this game too along with Zelda: A Link to the Past. I had people coming to my dorm almost every night. The good ol' days!
god i miss this game... they just dont make them like this anymore... i still have my super nintendo and a few games, but damn... this one always brings me back.
I never got around to beating the first or second one...! The first one was so confusing with that overworld lil angel thingy lol NVM after watching til the end I remember beating it now lol
great SNES master piece, so glad I grew up with it,,, only thing honestly is that, I only like the side scrolling moments the best,, not too fan of the whole over the head view parts, but HOW I ADORE THE COMBAT & LOOK of the 2D parts will love a remake of this master piece
oh man epic. I will ADORE to own that Japanese version, only thing I did not liked much about this amazing game is that overview chapter in between the missions, especially when I just want to skip those, thank you for let me know brother Vampire hunter D, I truly value your reply, btw is this YOU playing or someone else ??
Nice brother D, well play, & thanks for answering , always felt huge respect for your channel, btw try visit mine one day, you might liked I also can be skilled player, I also grew up with great beauties such this :))

SlimTank as far as snes side scrollers went it was pretty easy. Contra 3 was 10x harder same with any contra. I loved this game and beat it many times never beat the alien wars
Final boss: "Wow, what are all those heads?" Link, these are the faces of evil.
Funny, but Death Heim is a boss rush.
very good
lol

They seem similar for their crossover.

No, he shoot skulls.
He reminds me of Arugal from Shadowfang Keep in World of Warcraft, more like Arugal reminds me of this Actraiser boss.
Me too
If i am not mistaken. He lives in a castle near a lake of blood. And his chapter theme is fear. This kind of bring more vampire imagery.

Whats your opinion of the remake?

The Werewolf Boss in the Bloodpool stage was the one that always got me. Cool video!
Gotta love when every time he attacks it sounds like he laughs with a really robotic voice.
I’m playing this game and this is exactly where I’m at. This game is awesome and it’s relaxing playing the building of the towns
he got to the last boss with 2 pegs only, so he did get hit a lot in the boss rush, considering the speed of the bosses in there is just ridiculous, cant blame him though.. its hell
I think he played the regular bosses first, skipped recording of the boss rush until the very last boss.
hands down one of the MOST bizarre and difficult 2d platformer final boss fights. if i wouldn't have used an emulator and savestates possibly i could've never completed this game. its so insane but i guess rewarding as well
The ending music is just like when you go to the movies. That reminded me
man I love the music in this game, great video super cool to watch!

Finished right now [Actraiser 1] not finished as you did, but, I finished :p. Great game, I will TRY to finish the part 2. Regards!
I miss playing this game glad I beat it as a kid
7:40 the face in that wheel looks like an evil one-eyed Wallace from the Wallace and Gromit cartoons. "Gromit, I've got a hankering for some CHEESE!"
Man I salute you for your efforts!
8:30からのマラーナのボスが一番難しい

Why does it say Casandra Act clear? I remembered it as Kasandora. Maybe I'm just old...
Casandra is from Japanesee version of this game.
The background during the Artic Wyvern fight is pretty cool, really looks like you're fighting in a snowstorm.
One of my favorite games growing up.. Beat it too of course!
Same here
The best sword fighting quest game I found for the SNES. I wish more sword Quest games would use this platform.
If memory serves, wasn't this game featured on an episode of Nick Arcade?
Yes, on several occasions.
I just love how the major bosses are based on religions with more than one god or myths/legends/folklore etc.
Very creative bosses and great music!
1:56 Could be just ne, but when the Manticore shoots a gireball,.it sounds like he's saying "Dagobah".
16:22 how do you evade that? Is it a bug?
PS I never played this game, so I don't know the tricks.
The hit detection on Tanzra's projectiles is...weird.
Right they went right trough him
I always love snes colors
Loved this game, and the musical score..😙
It looks like Manfred from The Messenger took direct inspiration from the boss at 6:10. I wonder what else might be a nod to games of the past.
懐かしいと思って見たのに全然記憶に無かった!
15:40 Tanzra's face looks lime Hordak from the OG She-Ra series
god i miss this game... they just dont make them like this anymore... i still have my super nintendo and a few games, but damn... this one always brings me back.

In japanese version you can select Special mode where you'll play only 2D action stages.
oh man epic. DRAGOTH BELMONT Yes, it's my boss run.

5:Metrion
Final Boss:Canvas
I miss this game so much😊
Hey Shadowserg is Project Detonado playing Actraiser better than you ?
They don't act the same in the final boss rush though. I noticed it was edited
Absolutely loved this game, but I always struggled on the bosses, I might give it another go.
new one is come out
What confused me the most ish when I see the bosses health bars while the player’s is on top
i still never beat this game lol
This game was hard and fun
SlimTank as far as snes side scrollers went it was pretty easy. Contra 3 was 10x harder same with any contra. I loved this game and beat it many times never beat the alien wars
Is there an actual boss rush mode?
Im stuck on final seven boss rush. Im playing this on pi3 Recalbox and bosses are faster. Preety much
¿Could be a bad emulation config?
I think the bosses are suppossed to be faster than their original appearances.
なんや無敵かえ
Putz o cara é monstro mano..... kkkkkkkkk
Vormav from FFT????
Wew, this game looks hard as balls
Play it and keep playing it and you get better. It’s hard at first but when you find the patterns it becomes easier.
It is a challenge
I am having a hard time with this boss 2, is hard to catch his pace
Today's my 18th birthday!.
Happy birthday
Happy birthday

ActRaiser?
This must be Pinhead's polar opposite.
14:58
17:48
Shit...SNES had some good games, didn’t they?
bro u can play the new one now.
Nice try you sliced the editing so the bosses are the easy version then put the last boss in 😏
Why couldn’t the whole game be like this? I tried to get into this game, but the SimCity-like segments bored and confused me.
Why Japanese version?
Cos it lets you select a sidescroll only mode, without the shitty god simulator
16:20-16:25 yeah, no you got hit.
Satori Komeiji Wrong.
it's just a graze.
No uts the hit detection of the projectiles
It's just odd hit detection, I beat this game myself and stood in the exact same spot.
Arch angel Michael Comrade best regards from KRAUL-l-666🤟🤟
One critic of an otherwise pretty awesome video. I use an easier no damage pattern for the Manticore.
I hate the last level with 7 bosses in a row. And the last boss in particular.
I had this game
Christian God's Rage vs Polytheism, pew pew!
No damage? Werewolf almost killed his ass!!
Mannie Lee That wasn't from the boss you fight creatures on your way to the boss so he got damaged by the creatures not the boss
Arko The Nazgul Hey that wolf was fighting like a Boss!! "RICK ROSS VOICE"
Mannie Lee yeah going left and right
Arko The Nazgul LMFAO!!
No damage? I see some damage at the start of the game already XD
happyduke99 You go through a level then fight the boss. So he got damaged from the enemies on the way to the boss.
This game has some creative bosses! (Even if one of them is a rip off of Castlevania's Dracula)
but you took damage at the first boss
You go through a level before fighting the boss. Did you see his healthbar deplete while fighting the boss?
'platform and city-building simulation game' I'm sorry, what?
You ever play the game?
Watch Whoisthisgit's video on this game. It resumes it pretty well.
Inferno In the game there are segments where you build cities
no doubt since children... arcontic beings....
No damage :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
no damage, yeah sure
Its not a boss rush. He posted clips of individual sessions where he took no damage, not back to back, so its still accurate.
Nivek Ogilvie obvioulsy not. he took damage yet the title says no damage.
Before the fight, not during.
Nivek Ogilvie I ckecked the video again and you are correct. anyway, he did a good job and the game is awesome. especially the music. have a nice day.
No damage, my ass.
Stupid game
This is a decent game
