Hatten das selbe Model früher...E220 TE laut Tacho 225km/h mit 5 Personen aber ca. 1998 mit deutlich weniger Laufleistung. Unverwüstlich der 124er trotzdem tolle Erinnerung an die Kindheit 👍👍

It's not about power loss. Theese cars were allways slow. It's not about the speed with them....Plus that merc has the aerodynamic of a brick, and also has a small engine.
@@Lokomowal Temp is on the very left, and seems to be pegged at 90-100c in the video, so no issue at all. Aux fans come on somewhere closer to 120. The gauge on the right is oil pressure, you kinda want it at 3 when holding the go pedal down.

Thank you for finally noticing a window was not fully closed. LOL! What happened to that steering wheel? It's off center and it looks like a dog has been chewing on it - LMAO! What a tank the W124 is - still going strong after what must be really high mileage and use.
Love the shitty car tests. Theese high mileage cars are the real winners.

To all that think this car was faster when NEW. Its not true.
I have a 4spd Auto 220E limousine, the documents state a topspeed of 207km/h.
Wagons are always noticeable slower and more cumbersome than the limos, also they
are geared shorter, in this case 3.07 vs 3.46 differential and have worse aerodynamics. So true topspeed will lay around 190-197kmh/h for this model.
Which it reaches with ease.

Man I love a good ole w124 wagon. Wow. I love that lil MB service wagon you did a while back. I think it was a 200dt with 5 spd. Not a very hard top speed but man it was a great cruiser at 85-90 miles an hour which would be perfect here in the United States

Интересно увидеть тахометр. На универсалах бывает главная пара с отношением 3.92. в таком случае это нормальная максималка. Обслужить он взбодрится и еще немного прибавит

350.000 Kilometer auf der Uhr ist schon eine Ansage.Aber man sieht wie die 150 PS in Verbindung mit der Automatik zu kämpfen haben.Und das Leute so durch die Gegend fahren können,mit wohl verstellter Spur.Hut ab,daß du dich das traust mit solchen Autos,Vollgas zu fahren.

I think this engine is a little tired? I remember when I drove my w124 200E in the 90s, it managed to get near 200km/h and had a little left to spare...
That's due to the mileage of the car. Over 200.000 mls on the clock, there can be a loss of a few miles in topspeed. I owned a 230E as a 124 and it ran about 210, 215 kms/h. Station Wagon, automatic transmission. Same car, but only 132 HP.
