I can relate to Denise. I grew up in the lanes on Seaward Drive and for awhile was the only one attending Queens High. We had thieving light so I could study while my friends mostly reside “uptown “. I was motivated to be the success story of my family and so I worked hard and overcame obstacles to do it. Blessings to you Denise. Simone I appreciate you and your program. I like the point that Denise emphasized so well - people who are aching should deliberately seek the help of good therapist (paraphrased). I have seen so many individuals who, if they had looked for help soon enough, could achieve in a big way - intellectually socially, materially and spiritually. Unfortunately many will not seek or even accept the necessary help. Because of such neglect many live and sometimes even die in poverty. This interview is a great one Simone. Keep up the good work.

I remember you as an Energizer and was saddened when you were leaving but I'm now knowing the story and I am very proud of you my sister. My tears rolled down when I saw your son, mom, and Deborah Hickling.
I can identify with Denise. It is always my belief that we need to have a relationship with our children; not just clothe and feed them or just sending them to school. Because of this I've tried to build my relationship with my daughter and years later I can see the results. Calling me each time she goes out. Expressing her feelings whether good or bad.
Watching Denise talk about her story touched my heart so much because I'm going through mental illness with no strong support system and I'm struggling to find myself but her story makes me want to fight, it gave me strength in knowing I'm not the only one. Take huge courage for someone to speak so openly about things they experience and been through depression and all... I wish I could do that but I full of pride to really talk about some of the deep issues fears and trial in life ... but I am happy that no matter what we can always talk to Jesus unfiltered he will not judge us ...what a might God... thanks Denise for sharing ..bless

I can identify with Denise. It is always my belief that we need to have a relationship with our children; not just clothe and feed them or just sending them to school. Because of this I've tried to build my relationship with my daughter and years later I can see the results. Calling me each time she goes out. Expressing her feelings whether good or bad.

Watching Denise talk about her story touched my heart so much because I'm going through mental illness with no strong support system and I'm struggling to find myself but her story makes me want to fight, it gave me strength in knowing I'm not the only one.
