It's nice to see Tanya shed a few tears on camera. She tends to come off as someone who just had to be strong on her own and or all or life. *To me, Tanya is the Lauryn Hill of Jamaica. BRILLIANT lyricist*‼️

I am sorry that happened to you. Your life is worth so much more than that experience. You were the victim and were powerless against what happened. Now use it to be an advocate and you will find the strength to overcome
@Davidson Minott, I'm so sorry someone violated and hurt you. Please consider getting therapy. Sometimes we as Caribbean people brush off things that cause deep hurt so you don't get the support you needed. And things like therapy are frowned upon. You cant change what happened to you, but you can change your response to it and prevent it from continuing the violation even years later. Please find a good therapist to help you work through this. Again I'm sorry you had that experience and I wish you well.
@@davisonminott1658 Glad you tried, so sorry it didn't work. Sometimes that particular therapist or the type of therapy (eg individual vs support group) wasn't a good fit or the timing based on where you were mentally wasn't right. Listening to Tanya makes me realize how blessed I was as a young lady to have my brothers constantly watching out for me. When I think back, I am certain that they saved me from a lot of predators.
Excellent interview. I salute this lady Tanya Stephenson for sharing her story. She’s such a beautiful lady, full of love. This story of rape is so common in our culture, it’s sickening! I have to be teaching my niece about boundaries since age 3! Now she’s 8 years old and I’m wondering when is a good time to talk about rape and sex, before someone else does! More power to you Tanya. Thank you for standing up against sexual violence! It’s so rampant in our culture and people want to be hush hush about it. I’d listen to this interview over and over, for it resonates with me. Love only.
I loved this interview. Tanya is so truly misunderstood. I love her and hugging what she stands for. She is truly a wonderful person. Good job SIM getting her on your show.
First I want to say thank you Aunty Sim Sim and team for this show. It’s truly a gem 💎 and speaking of gems, thank you for answering my prayers and getting her on. I felt like I needed to hear her story and after hearing, I feel even closer to her cause all my life I’ve been misunderstood. I’ve been told I’m aggressive, this and that. People had a lot of negative and nasty things to say about me and/or wish for me even to this day because of that my parents were extremely overprotective and now a newlywed, my husband is as well. It’s true when they say “be careful what you wish for people’s children or it will happen to yours.” Just like Tanya, I didn’t like authority. 😅 Always been a rebel. Thanks to my father for introducing me to her music. When listening, I could always relate to them. Ive never really understood tanya but so have many people misunderstood me as well so who am I to judge. Great woman she has been through a lot hence the tough exterior I dont wrong her we have to protect ourself. I have learned though that in Jamaica whatever you tell someone they do the same thing to you so I have learned to keep my problems to myself and pray to the almighty God about them. Stay strong queen.
Your story is currently helping others continue to speak out and advocate for hurting men and women. Lovely Story many more women are going through what you have been through. Keep speaking out....
I am in love with this woman’s mind!! Her genius and artistry in music goes without saying. However, following this woman on social media and hearing her speak on non-musical topics is truly refreshing.
