Hey Chels! as someone who FINALLY stopped listening to rap music I feel you. I grew up on it so it wasn't easy for me to give up. It's not something you just stop doing either, it's a gradual shift. Once you get to that point where you're like, ok this is something I want to stop doing, pray. Bring it to God, thats it. For me, I love a good beat, i liked feeling it in my chest. Then I started to pay attention to the lyrics, and discernment and conviction started to take over. I found myself feeling guilty more than I would enjoy listening to certain songs. it got real when I noticed I could memorize explicit song lyrics faster than I was scripture. and then if I'm tryna advance in my journey in Christ, how can I still be indulging in worldly music. I know you mentioned listening to podcast or jazz music so im saying all this to say that whenever your ready, trust and lean into him and if your simply not there yet, thats fine too!
