Hope you are all well. Unfortunately Kate isn't feeling great this week - she is fine, but she has vertigo, so is having to take things easy for the next few weeks... so your video this week is a one I made for John's 'Kestrel's Eye' series which is a monthly feature on Patreon. We thought you might enjoy it! We had so much fun travelling around the Outer Hebrides in a camper van for a few weeks - it's such a beautiful part of the world. Please don't worry about Kate - she is fine, she just needs to rest up.

Wow! Wonderful, I love the Inner and Outer Hebrides, but the Outer take the biscuit for me. Feels like 4 seasons in half an hour sometimes, yet still absolutely magical.

Hey John and Anna, I forgot to mention your little fury friend Jack. He was having a great time running around and resting covered up with his blanket on a rainy day. I loved watching him run around and enjoying beautiful Scotland.
November 25 2022: So very nice that her family is standing by. I understand that she is up and about now so wonderful to know. Like your Mum you have such great craftsmanship and creativity. Sorry to hear you're not feeling yourself Kate, sending you healing vibes from Cornwall. John and Anna what a lovely treat you gave us. We made the long trek there, in our T5 camper van, all the way from Cornwall, and fell in love with place. So pleased Angus is sill there. I laughed when he said to us 'he doesn't need to travel anywhere to meet people from from all over the country, because they all come here'. Sadly we don't have a camper van now but you brought back lots of lovely memories. Thankyou

It’s been a couple of years since you’ve e taken this trip but I’m just catching up with you all here. I doubt you will even see this post but I wanted you to know that from watching your panoramic views and listening to the music has made me a bit homesick for my own part of the world on the East Coast of Canada. I miss the ocean so much….it’s a part of my DNA. Just seeing it here, the rolling waves, I can almost smell it. Thank you so much for this look into your wonderful world! I’m not sure if you know just how much it is appreciated.

People used to use the phrase.."I'll send you to the outer Hebrides if you don't do this...that...etc. It was used as a curse! Now i wish they had😂Unbeatable scenery. I could live on salmon, oatcakes and chutney for life. Not forgetting porridge which i love. Kate you have a special son and daughter in law😘

I just saw this, such beautiful solitude! It surely spoke to the Scottish in my DNA. Thank you so much for sharing, and so thankful that Kate’s vertigo is long past.
I just watched this the second time and love it even more... I want to mention how very very beautiful Anna and John's skin is!!! Is this common growing up in your area... moist a lot, etc??? I know that my skin cleared up when I stopped eating all meat and dairy and turned pure whole food plant based 15 years ago as well as got healthy and at 77 years old right now still maintaining etc. Thank you Kate, Anna and John and the rest of your lovely family for all you do to enlighten us around the world!!!! See you next time!

I know I’m very late to this channel, but this video had my in tears. I’m half Scottish but live 6 months of the year in South Africa and the other 6 in the UK. This look at the Hebrides went straight to my yearning for Scotland. Thank you.

Anna & John, What a wonderful trip you shared with us all. Everything about it was just excellent! The very first island you showed looked like a vast whale cruising through the water.
Loved seeing Frank doing zoomies on the beach. I think all dogs love the beach better than anyplace on earth.
Lovely having you talk to us whilst fixing crackers with cream cheese, salmon and beets.

Thank you John & Anna! My paternal grandmother was from Scotland so it was delightful for a peek into her ancestral home country. Well wishes Kate! I also suffered a couple of bouts of vertigo. Epley maneuver helped once and chiropractic helped the second time. Take care and go easy.....we will wait here on the sofa....

Kate I do hope you are up and around soon and feeling right as rain…you left us in good hands though. John and Anna did a lovely job of entertaining us in your stead. Scenery was lovely, the chat was enjoyable…maybe they need to treat us to a travel log the next trip they go on. Anna you are so right about the weather…you don’t go there for the weather and I do believe the cloudy and overcast days seem to enhance the ruggedness of the land.

YOu two are just too cute, John and Anna... must be exciting to take off in your van and just visit places unkown (not really unknown, lol). Enjoy life. Mom will be ok. There are to many of us who suffer from vertigo to be worried. At worst, it is inconvenient because it comes out of nowhere, but you learn how to navigate.

Well done! Loved the tour. Glad Anna got a few cold swim days. Loved seeing Frank run on the beach. When I was on a tour of Ireland, our guide greeted us on a cloudy day, he said “I see we have a silver day”. So much better than the terms, “cloudy day”. Kate-1000 wishes for your full recovery. I have had vertigo and it is horrible. Be careful not to fall when you have to get up.

Oh Kate do hope you are feeling a lot better now. Vertigo is horrid. The journey the young ones have taken us has brought back so many happy memories of when my husband and I went on a jolly there. I even had him guessing the landscape to see if he could tell me where the beach was - and he did! I go with Anna - if I went abroad I would be very miffed if it rained but dry days in Scotland are a bonus but not taken for granted. It’s not the weather that is bad but what you wear 😁
Kate so sorry to hear you are not feeling good, pray for a quick recovery my son had vertigo a few years ago and he was really bad he was passing out all the time also in the shower but he did get over it with the help of meds, just take time to rest and relax , we are all thinking about you and miss you, your son John and daughter your in law Anna done a great job John and Anna are a lovely couple you have a beautiful family Kate! Been to Scotland when I was young we went every year to see family and friends always had a wonderful time but it can be very wet and cold! This video makes me wish I was back in the Outer Hebrides....it almost hurts. Coming from Australia it is likely I will never get back, but I was last there in 2011 and loved it. As a fiddle player I also have to say I appreciate the music. Thanks John and Anna!
